In his first season as the Furness professional, Ian Daniel, heads the Premier Division batting averages, having scored 637 runs at an average of just less than 71, and played a big part in Furness retaining the League Championship. Leading amateur is Millom s Ryan Brown who scored 757 runs at an average of 63.08, and wins the Premier Division batting award. Ryan is also top run scorer (including professionals) for the third consecutive season and so makes it a hat-trick of wins of the John Richardson award. Despite all the rain the Premier Division s highest amateur innings record was broken twice. The 158 Workington s Callum Moffat made on the opening day of the season at Millom, went past Geoff Luxon s 148 n.o. made in 2003, and then on July 30 th, Cockermouth s Alex Grainger made 169 against Haverigg, to break the new record score.
