1. TIMETABLE & VENUE 1.1 ADBG s 2011 2 nd Season All Members Bowling League will be played every Monday at the Emirates Bowling Village (Marina Mall) AUH. 1.2 The commencement date will be on Monday, 19 th September 2011. 1.3 Games will be played every Monday @ 8:00pm. Shadow bowling at 7:50 P.M. and official roll off will be at 8:00 PM. 1.4 Schedule of games will be distributed on the 2 nd week of the league (counting from the Official Opening) and initial lane assignments will be determined by drawing of lots prior to start of the league. 1.5 Lane assignments for the succeeding games will be prepared seeing that all teams compete with each other and are rotated among the different lanes. 1.6 No postponement of games will be allowed except for the acts of the Bowling Center Management, Official Public Holidays, observance of religious obligation, natural calamities or civil disobedience. 1.7 Maximum no. of teams is set to (14) teams. Acceptance of submission of Team Entry will be on a first come first serve basis, due to limited no. of lanes. Notice will be given once submission is closed. 2. MANAGEMENT 2.1 The operational management of the tournament will be by the ADBG Tournament Committee, composed of the Tournament Director, Three (3) Committee Members and participating teams Captains. 2.2 Issues, disputes or protests regarding the implementation of the tournament rules will be resolved by the Tournament Committee. The committee decision will be FINAL. 3. DEFINITION OF BOWLERS / MEMBERS 3.1 New Bowler : an individual with no known and verifiable history of having previously played in any official league sanctioned by any other Bowling Clubs. All new bowlers will be screened by the Membership Committee headed by the Committee Chairman with the consent and approval of the Club President. 3.2 Honorary Member : a foreign bowler (non Filipino) who is officially registered with ADBG. However, he/she should not belong to any Professional Bowling Team/Club. 4. LEAGUE RULES & FORMAT 4.1 This league is open to all bowling enthusiasts working in the UAE and other nationalities, with no affiliation with any Professional Bowling Team/Club. 4.2 Each team shall be composed of a minimum of five (5) bowlers and a maximum of eight (8) bowlers. Only five (5) bowlers in each team can play in a particular game with at least one (1) female bowler in the line up. 4.3 The entirety of the league will be divided into three (3) rounds as follows : a) Elimination (Double Round) o o o o o o Each team shall play every week, WITH HANDICAP, over a three (3) game series. Two opposing teams shall bowl on a pair of lanes drawn and scheduled prior to the start of the league. Duration of the league will depend on the number of participating teams. Top ten (10) teams with the highest team points, after completing the Elimination (Double Round), shall advance to the next round. (For points system, pls. refer to Clause No. 5) Team s slots will be determined by their respective points earned during the Elimination Round. In case of tie, total no. of pinfalls (w/ HCP) will be taken into consideration. The team who earned the higher pinfalls will be considered for the higher slot. Teams on Position nos. 1 & 2 will automatically qualify for the Stepladder Round (FINALS). b) Semi finals Round Round 1 (Winners Bracket) Game 1 : Teams on Slot Nos. 3 10 will be grouped (cross over format) and compete with each other. All losing teams will go to the Losers bracket. Game 2(a) : Winners of Game 1 will again compete with each other. All losing teams will go to the Losers bracket. Round 2 (Losers Bracket) Game 2(b) : Losers of Game 1 will compete. Game 4 : Winners of Game 3 will then play against Losers of Game 2. Game 5 : Winners of Game 4 will then compete with Winners of Game 2. NOTE : Games 2 (a & b) will be played at the same time. (Please see illustration below) Adbg_SEC / mcfc Page 3

c) Stepladder Rounds (FINALS) o Game #1 winners of the Semi final round. Non winning team will take the 3 rd Runner up position. (Knock out Game) o Game #2 winner of Game #1 against team on Position no. 2. Non winning team will take the 2 nd Runner up position. Team on Position No. 2 will have a twice tobeat advantage. o Game #3 winner of Game #2 against the team on Position No. 1. Team on Position No. 1 will have a twice to beat advantage. (NOTE : Substitution of regular players will be allowed for this round). Adbg_SEC / mcfc Page 4

4.4 In case of a tie during the Semi final & Stepladder Rounds, last two frames (9 th & 10 th frame) will be played and 20% of the total team handicap will be applied. 4.5 Changes of bowlers in any Team Roster will be allowed up to the third (3rd) week of the tournament. Replacement of bowlers after that date will no longer be allowed. However, a consideration will be given on certain case i.e. Injury (please see Clause 14). 5. POINTS SYSTEM (ELIMINATION ROUND) (Max. 22 pts.) 5.1 GAME POINTS (Win/Loss) : Two (2) points to be awarded each game for the winning team. Points will be divided between opposing teams in case of tie. (Max 6 pts.) 5.2 TOTAL SERIES : Two (2) points to be awarded to the team who made the most number of pinfalls (w/ HCP) after completion of the match (3 games). (Max 2 pts.) 5.3 TEAM AVERAGE This will be based on SCRATCH scores. 5.3.1 Team average will be the sum of all the Individual Average of the five playing Team Members. One (1) point will be awarded for each game the Team beats their average. (Max 3 pts.) Team must beat their average by (1) i.e. (100+130+145+150+160) = 685 + 1 = 686. FOR BOWLERS W/ ADBG RECORD : ADBG records of 2010 Mid year League and 2011 1 st Season All Members League will be considered. A bowler who has not played in any of the mentioned leagues will be considered a NEW bowler. FOR NEW BOWLERS : Following entering individual average will apply : Male Bowler (160) / Female Bowler (140). 5.3.1.1 In case of incomplete line up : team automatically loses point for the Team Average and other bonus points, except the Individual Bonus Points. Substitute Bowler s score or a Blind Score of (130) will only be considered for the game points (Win/Loss). 5.4 INDIVIDUAL BONUS POINT : One (1) point will be awarded for each player who will be able to beat his/her Individual Average. (Max 5 pts.) 5.5 A BONUS of one (1) point per game will be awarded to a team who will earn 1,000 pinfalls including handicap OR two (2) points per game if the total pinfalls will reach 1,100 including handicap. (Max 6 pts.) SUBSTITUTE s score and BLIND SCORE will not be considered for the bonus point. 6. BOWLERS CLASSIFICATION / ENTERING AVERAGE AND HANDICAP 6.1 Bowlers handicap will be based ONLY on ADBG Bowlers Playing Records. 6.1.1 For New Bowlers (Bowlers with NO existing ADBG League Record) : average and handicap will be determined after their completion of (3) games and will be updated every week. 6.1.2 For Bowlers with existing game record : update of average will start after completion of (9) games. 6.2 Classification of Bowlers will be as follows : Men s Division Class A 190 and above Class B 170 to 189.99 Class C 169.99 and below Women s Division Class A 170 and above Class B 150 to 169.99 Class C 149.99 and below 6.3 The calculation of handicap will be computed at (190) base minus the current effective average multiplied by 80% (i.e. HCP = 190 average x.80). Decimals will be dropped with no rounding off. Please note that an average of (189) and above will then considered ZERO (0). Maximum handicap for Men will be (30) and (50) for Women. 7. LEGAL LINE UP 7.1 To meet a legal line up, a team must consist of either : 7.1.1 Five (5) regular bowlers with at least one (1) female bowler. 7.1.2 Three (3) regular bowlers. In this case, a maximum of two (2) substitute bowlers with at least one (1) female bowler will be allowed. If a female substitute bowler is not available, a blind score will apply. 7.2 Alteration of Regular Bowlers will be allowed prior to start of each game. HOWEVER, a new bowler cannot be replaced until he/she has established average and handicap (at least 3 games). Accordingly, Individual Bonus Point will not be awarded. 7.3 Team phasing (bowler s positions) can be changed prior to start of each game. 8. BLIND SCORE 8.1 A blind score of one hundred thirty (130) will be applicable to both male and female bowlers based on the following conditions : 8.1.1 When a team has a legal line up but less than a full line up. (Refer to Section 7.1) 8.1.2 When a team has no regular female bowler during the last three (3) weeks of the league. NOTE : If a blind score was applied for the first game and a regular bowler arrives prior to start of the second game, he/she maybe allowed to continue the game. However, blind score will not be considered in computing his/her no. of games. Adbg_SEC / mcfc Page 6

9. INCOMPLETE SCORE SHEETS 9.1 For any missing score, a (0) (zero) score will apply. Actual no. of games and score reflected in score sheets will be considered in computing the player s no. of games and average. 9.2 Once the folder is submitted and game result is finalized and published, any modifications, appeal or excuse will not be entertained. 10. TARDINESS & DEFAULT 10.1 A TEAM or a Player will be given ten (10) minutes grace period, from the official roll off time (EBV time will be considered as the basis), to complete its legal line up or proceed with the game before being declared in default or absent, respectively, for any particular game. 10.2 In case of a late bowler, nine (9) pins will be awarded for each frame that he/she has missed. 10.3 In case of default, the TEAM present will play its regular game as though the game is being contested and will be automatically awarded win points over the supposed opponent. 10.4 A NO SHOW team will be fined Dhs. 1000/. 10.5 Any team who fails to play in three (3) consecutive scheduled matches will not be allowed to continue the tournament. Paid fees will not be refunded and any outstanding accounts will remain collectible. 11. SUBSTITUTE BOWLERS 11.1 Substitutes will be allowed to play prior to start of the game. However, substitute bowler cannot be replaced by a regular or another substitute bowler once the game has started. 11.2 Substitutes will not be allowed to play in the last three (3) weeks of the Elimination Round and in the Stepladder Round. 11.3 Substitute bowler will be qualified for the Bowler of the Week and Strikes in a Row award. 11.4 Substitute bowlers are entitled to his/her handicap. 11.5 Substitute bowler must be a registered member of ADBG. 11.6 In case of a player(s) transferring to another Team during the first three weeks of the league, any bonus point earned by a Bowler during his/her tenure with the previous team will be declared null and void and will be deducted accordingly from his/her previous team. NOTE : Transfer of players to another Team will only be allowed until the third week of the league. 12. REGISTRATION & GAME FEES 12.1 Registration Fee of UAE Dhs. Four Hundred (Dhs. 400.00) shall be paid on the first playing week (prior to start of the game). Adbg_SEC / mcfc Page 7

12.2 Weekly Game Fee of UAE Dhs. Two Hundred Fifty (Dhs. 250.00) shall be paid prior to start of the game. A strict No Pay No Play rule will apply. 12.3 Game Fees are to be paid even in cases of default. 13. NO MARKS PENALTY 13.1 There shall be a penalty of Dhs. 1.00 on every open (no marks either strike or spare) 3 rd, 6 th and 9 th frame of each game. 13.2 It shall be the responsibility of the Team Captain to ensure that the penalties are collected and turned over to Organizers right after the game. 14. TECHNICALITIES 14.1 Advance Games 14.1.1 No bowler(s) can advance his/her play on every scheduled game. 14.1.2 No team(s) can advance their play on every scheduled game. 14.1.3 In the event of a machine breakdown while the game is still in progress, the Team Captain and Tournament Director will decide whether to transfer and continue the game to another lane. 14.2 Injury / Emergency Cases 14.2.1 WHILE A GAME IS ON GOING : In the event that a bowler cannot continue his/her game due to injury, illness, disability and other cause that may require the bowler to discontinue the game, actual score will be awarded. If this is due to an emergency or force majeure, the same actual score will be awarded. 14.2.2 In the event that a bowler cannot continue the rest of games of the on going league due to medical reasons, an authentic Medical Certificate is to be submitted. Replacement of bowler from the submitted Team Roster will be permitted however, the same will be considered permanent and original bowler will be removed from the Official Team Roster. This case will be allowed provided the incident happened prior to the last three weeks of the on going league. 14.2.3 In the event that a bowler cannot continue the rest of games of the on going league due to resignation, relocation or termination of employment, an official document coming from the company or any valid document proving the said circumstance, is to be submitted. Other conditions mentioned in Sub section 14.2.2 will apply. 14.3 Walkout / Withdraw 14.3.1 A team who walks out while the game is in progress will be subjected to a disciplinary action that will be decided by the Tournament Committee. 14.3.2 A team who withdraws while the league is in progress will be subjected to pay all outstanding dues and payments made till the withdrawal date will not be refunded. 14.4 Unsettlement of Game/Penalty Fees 14.5 Foul Line 14.6 Pins 14.4.1 Club Membership of Player/Team who fails to settle all outstanding dues will be cancelled until they settle the same. 14.5.1 Any bowler who obviously or accidentally goes beyond the foul line will be considered foul. 14.5.2 Automatic foul detector shall be activated during the game. 14.5.3 A foul is committed when a part of the player s body encroaches on or goes beyond the foul line and touches any part of the lane. (Footwear and clothing are considered part of the body). 14.5.4 Foul line is of infinite length including walls, flooring, posts and ball returns. A foul is NOT committed when a foreign objects such as pens, jewellery, coins, cigarettes, etc. drop from a bowler s pocket or fall from a person s body or clothing. However, a player should request permission to cross the foul line to retrieve any items that have fallen beyond the foul line. 14.5.5 A provisional ball should be thrown when there is a controversy or protest involving a foul that cannot be resolved by the two Team Captains. When a dispute over a foul occurs, the player shall complete the frame and then bowl one provisional ball. The score sheet and a record of both score for the frame in which the provisional delivery is made, shall be kept. The protest must be referred to the Tournament Director. 14.5.6 A foul is NOT committed when a bowler goes over the foul line while retaining possession of the ball. A legal delivery must be executed for a foul to be committed. A legal delivery is made when the ball leaves the player s possession and crosses the foul line into playing territory. 14.5.7 A foul is committed when a bowler steps over the foul line of the adjoining approach area. 14.6.1 IMPROPERLY SET : It is each bowler s responsibility to determine if a setup is correct. The bowler shall insist that any pin(s) incorrectly set to be re spotted prior to delivering the ball, otherwise the setup is deemed to be acceptable. Adbg_SEC / mcfc Page 9

When bowling at a full setup or to make a spare, and it was discovered immediately after the delivery, that one or more pins are set improperly, but not missing, the delivery and resulting pinfall counts. 14.6.2 No change can be made in the position of any pin(s) left standing after the bowler s first delivery unless : 14.6.2.1 The pinsetter moved or misplaced any pin(s). 14.6.2.2 Any standing pin(s) is/are outside the range of the sweep bar. 14.6.3 REBOUNDING : Pins that rebound and stand on the lane must be counted as standing pins. 14.7 Bowling on Wrong Lane 14.7.1 When a bowler(s) bowls on the wrong lane, a dead ball shall be called and the bowler(s) is required to re bowl on the correct lane. 14.8 Playing Against Pacer Team 14.8.1 Corresponding points for beating the Team Average (1 pt. for each game) will be awarded, whenever applicable. In order to earn (2) pts., for the win/loss (Game Pt.), the team must beat their Team Average. Otherwise, (1) pt. will be awarded. 14.8.2 NO points will be awarded for the total team series. 14.8.3 Bonus point for beating Individual Average will be awarded whenever applicable. 14.8.4 Bonus points for 1000 and 1100 series (including HCP) will also be awarded, whenever applicable. 15 UNIFORMS 15.1 2011 Club t shirts may be considered as the Official League uniform and must be worn starting fifth (5 th ) playing week until the whole duration of the league. Teams who wish to wear their own uniform may do so, provided that the Tournament Director is informed before the fifth (5 th ) playing week. 15.2 A deduction of ten (10) pins per game, against a Team Member who is not in uniform, will be imposed during the particular game. 15.3 Replacement bowlers are not required to have their Team Uniform however, he/she will be required to wear ADBG 2011 Club T shirt, as uniform. 15.4 Substitutes are not required to wear uniforms. AWARDS 16.1 Main Prizes Top four teams Team Trophy & Individual Medals + Cash Prize Non winning teams Team Trophy 16.2 Individual Awards High Average (A, B & C) Medals + Cash Prize High Series (Scratch) Medals + Cash Prize High Series (Handicap) Medals + Cash Prize High Game (Scratch) Medals + Cash Prize High Game (Handicap) Medals + Cash Prize 16.2.1 For the High Average award, a bowler must have played at least sixty percent (60%) of the total number of games played during the entire league. 16.2.2 Bowler who will have the highest average for each Class, both for Male & Female Division, will be determined as the winner. 16.2.3 In case a bowler qualifies in more than one category, only the higher award shall be given to him/her, in the order listed above. 16.2.4 The succeeding awards will be given to the next qualified bowler. 16.2.5 Substitutes are not qualified in any of the awards listed above. 16.3 Rookie of the League 16.3.1 This will be awarded ONLY to NEW Bowlers (Bowlers with NO traceable record from any other major Bowling Clubs), both for Male & Female Division, who will have the highest difference between his/her entering average after completion of the league and has played at least sixty percent (60%) of the total number of games played during the entire league. NOTE : Entering average for Male will be (160) and Female will be (140). 16.3.2 In case of a tie, the bowler who has the most number of games played will be declared as the winner. 16.3.3 The winner will be awarded a medal. 16.4 Most Improved Bowler 16.4.1 This will be given to bowlers (Male & Female) who belongs to Class C & B, meeting the following criteria : 16.4.1.1 Gained an increase in his/her last league s average. 16.4.1.2 Must have played at least sixty percent (60%) of the total number of games played during the entire league. 16.4.1.3 Was able to elevate him/herself to the next higher Class. 16.4.2 This award will be on a per league basis. 16.4.3 In case of a tie, the number of games played will be the main basis to qualify for this award. 16.4.4 Winner will be awarded a medal. 16.5 Bowler of the Week 16.5.1 This award will be given to the bowler who rolls the highest series of three (3) games plus his/her handicap. 16.5.2 The winner will be awarded a trophy. 16.6 Strikes in a Row 16.6.1 A male bowler who rolls eight (8) strikes in a row will be awarded a Medal. 16.6.2 A female bowler who rolls six (6) strikes in a row will be awarded a Medal. 16.7 Perfect Score The first bowler who will score a perfect score (300) during the league will be awarded a trophy plus AED 1000/. 17. PROTESTS / DISPUTES 17.1 In the event of a protest/dispute between any bowler(s) regarding league play, the dispute shall be submitted, in writing, within five (5) days of the occurrence and presented to the Tournament Director. The issue shall then be reviewed and necessary action, if any, will be taken. 17.2 Any protest/dispute raised after the five day period mentioned above will not be entertained. 18. RESPONSIBILITIES OF A TEAM CAPTAIN 18.1 The team captain shall be made responsible to settle all fees and dues of his team. 18.2 The team captain shall be made responsible in reviewing and ensuring that their Team s score sheet is completed prior to submission to the League Organizers. 18.3 To assign and designate a deputy who shall represent the team in his/her absence. Decision(s) or representation made by the designated person shall be binding. 18.4 The team captain shall be made responsible for the conduct and discipline of his/her team. 18.5 The team captain shall play in progress and resolve with the Tournament Director any protest or dispute.
