The Crusaders captured victory in the first meeting between the two sides by holding off Lafayette on the final possession when Nick Lindner s last second shot fell off the rim. c The 59-58 victory for the Crusaders snapped a four-game losing streak to Lafayette. The Leopards have taken the previous four meetings in Worcester, Mass. Holy Cross has not swept the regular season series against Lafayette since 2009. c Head coach Fran O Hanlon tied the record of 126 Patriot League victories with the win over American. O Hanlon and former Bucknell head coach Pat Flannery share the record. c Since returning to the starting lineup on February 1, Seth Hinrichs is leading Lafayette in scoring (14.8 ppg) and rebounding (6.8 rpg) and the Leopards are 4-1. c Lafayette is currently tied for eighth in the Patriot League standings with Navy, while Holy Cross is in sole possession of third place in the conference and one game back of American. The Eagles sit alone in second place. c Lafayette is 18th in the country in three-point shooting percentage at 39.7 percent. Creighton is the national leader at 42.2 percent. c Lafayette is 1-7 in games decided by five points or less this season and 0-3 against Patriot League opponents. c Joey Ptasinski and Seth Hinrichs are climbing the all-time list for three-point field goals. The luncheons will be held on campus in Pfenning Alumni Center and working media members are encouraged to attend. KNOCKING OFF THE LEADERS A 19-4 second-half run helped Lafayette take the lead for good against then first-place American. The Leopards erased a six-point halftime deficit and outscored the Eagles 47-29 after halftime en route to the 12-point victory. Lafayette made a season-high 60 percent of its shot attempts (27-of-45), the highest percentage since Jan. 8, 2013 against Penn when it went 30-of-49 from the floor (61.2 percent). BLOCK PARTY Lafayette s 61-44 victory was aided by its best performance of the season in terms of blocking shots. The Leopards sent back a season-high nine shots, led by career bests by freshman Michael Hoffman (four) and sophomore Nathaniel Musters (three). Hoffman s four blocks were the most for any player in 2013-14. The rejections helped Lafayette hold Loyola to season lows in points (44) and shooting percentage (33.3 percent). GETTING DEFENSIVE In five of Lafayette s last seven games the Leopards have held their opponents under 28 percent shooting from beyond the arc. The loss at Boston (11-of-25, 44 percent) and the win over American (10-of-21, 47.6 percent) were the only hiccups. Four of Lafayette s last five opponents have been held to fewer than 62 points and three teams were held to less than 35 percent shooting. Over the last nine games, opponents are shooting 27.7 percent from downtown (56-of-202). WINDEX WARRIORS? With the second half of Patriot League play underway, Lafayette has turned the corner in terms of rebounding the basketball. The Leopards won the battle on the glass against Navy (+9), Bucknell (+2), Boston (+3) and American (+5). In the last five games, Lafayette is averaging more than 2.6 rebounds per game than its opposition. Lafayette was outrebounded by 6.9 rebounds per game and opponents outscored the Leopards 111-58 in second-chance points in the first round of League play. GUARDING THE THREE Navy (11-14), Bucknell (12-15) and vs. Boston (15-30) combined to hit 38-of-59 from beyond the arc, a 64.4 percent clip, during a three-game stretch. The Terriers 15 three-pointers were the most given up by Lafayette since Vanderbilt knocked down 15 on Dec. 21, 2011. Overall, Lafayette s Patriot League opponents are shooting 36.0 percent (107-of- 297) from downtown. SOLVING SOJKA Lafayette earned its first-ever win at Sojka Pavilion (1-15) on Feb. 5 in a 66-58 final. Seth Hinrichs recorded his first double-double of the season with 18 points and 10 rebounds, while Dan Trist scored 14 and Monty Boykins added a career-high 13 points in the win. The Leopards held Bucknell to 34.5 percent shooting from the field and outrebounded the Bison 37-35. Bucknell went 2-for-16 from beyond the arc in the contest. DOUBLING UP Junior Seth Hinrichs became the second Lafayette player to secure a double-double with his 18 point and 10 rebound effort against Bucknell. The double-double was the third of Hinrichs career. Earlier this season, Dan Trist recorded his first-career double-double with by scoring 18 points and reeling in a career-high 12 rebounds against Robert Morris (11/12). In the win over American, Trist scored 19 points and pulled down 10 boards for his second double-double. Hinrichs (3) and Trist (2) are the only active players to register double-doubles in their careers. STOPPING THE NAVY Junior Joey Ptasinski didn t miss a shot in Lafayette s 18-point triumph against Navy. Ptasinski hit all six of his three-point attempts and was 4-for-4 at the free throw line en route to 22 a season-high points. As a team, Lafayette held Navy to 54 points and 34 percent from the floor. The Mids scored 20 second-half points, which was the least for a Leopards opponent in any half this season. Lafayette s rebounding margin (+9) was the highest positive difference of the year. LOOKING FOR STABILITY Only two players, junior Joey Ptasinski and freshman Nick Lindner have played in every game this season for Lafayette. Of the 15 players on Lafayette s roster, six have missed at least one game due to injury, including four starters, and Fran O Hanlon has used 13 different starting lineups. In addition, 12 players have made at least one start. BENCH PUNCH For the first time all season, Lafayette s bench outscored its starters (49-29) against Boston University. After Dan Trist and Nick Lindner each picked up two fouls in the opening four minutes at home against Bucknell, Fran O Hanlon decided to have the duo come off the bench in an effort to avoid early foul calls against two of his regular starters. The tactic worked as Trist (19) and Lindner (16) combined for 35 points in the loss to the BU. Trist has come off the bench in Lafayette s last 11 games and is averaging 13.2 points per game during that time. LIFE WITHOUT HINRICHS Lafayette s 11-game losing streak was the team s longest since it dropped 23 in a row through the end of the 1994-95 campaign and the start of 1995-96. During the run of losses, the Leopards were without Seth Hinrichs for 10 games because of a knee injury. They were outscored by an average of 10.3 points per night and gave up an average of 77.5 points per outing. Opponents shot 48.4 percent from the field and 37.2 percent from beyond the arc during the slide. The Maroon and White were also outrebounded by an average of 7.5 boards per game. PTASINSKI LIGHTS IT UP Junior guard Joey Ptasinski found his rhythm over a nine-game stretch from Lafayette s first meeting with Navy (1/5) and leading into his best performance of the season against Navy in Easton, Pa. on Feb. 1. Ptasinski scored a season-high 22 points on 6-for-6 shooting from three-point land, had back-to-back 20 point games and nine straight games with at least 10 points. During the stretch, Ptasinski was second on the team with an average of 14 points per night and shot 58.7 percent (44-of-75) from the floor. From beyond the arc, Ptasinski was 27-for-49, a 55.1 percent clip, and made 11- of-12 from deep against Colgate and Navy. SUB!!!!!!! Much to the chagrin of official statisticians and public address announcers, Fran O Hanlon likes to run players in an out at stoppages of play. The Leopards have traditionally gone 9-10 deep into their bench, often substituting offensedefense as early as the first half. 2013-14 LAFAYETTE BASKETBALL PAGE 2

Scouting Holy Cross Holy Cross comes to College Hill riding a four-game winning streak following a 72-67 defeat of Lehigh on Saturday. Holy Cross has used its size to swat away 100 shots this season, good for third in the League (3.8 per game) and owns a +1.1 rebouding margin, which ranks third in the conference. The Crusaders are led by senior Dave Dudzinski. The 6-9 forward leads the team and is fourth in the conference with 15.1 points per game and 7.5 rebounds per game, which leads the Patriot League. Junior forward Malcom Miller is shooting 48.0% from the field while racking up 47 blocks (1.8 per game). Sophomore guard Eric Green leads the squad with 1.7 steals per night. In victories, Lafayette owns a +1.9 rebounding margin and a +2.5 turnover margin, while limiting its turnovers to 11.6 per game. In losses, Lafayette is -5.6 on the glass and averages 12.9 turnovers and a -1.8 turnover margin. DOWN TO THE WIRE The Leopards had 10 of their games decided by five points or fewer last season. In those games, Lafayette was 7-3. After losing to Lehigh (71-68), Lafayette is 1-7 this year in games decided by five points or less. WORKING OVERTIME Against Princeton (11/20) (L, 81-80 OT), Lafayette played in its first overtime game since defeating LIU-Brooklyn 98-94 in OT on Nov. 12, 2012. The next game Bryce Scott hit a three-pointer to send Lafayette into overtime at NJIT, but the Leopards fell 91-88. In the last six seasons, Lafayette has played in 16 overtime games, posting a 9-7 record in those games. In his career, Fran O Hanlon has a 19-15 mark after regulation time. PATRIOT LEAGUE RANKS Dan Trist ranks sixth in the League in field goal percentage (128-of-230, 55.7%) and seventh in rebounding (5.7 rpg). Bryce Scott is second in the conference in free throw shooting, making 63-of-73 (86.3%) and Nick Lindner is fifth (105-of-126, 83.3%). Lindner is seventh in the League in assists with 3.8 per game. Joey Ptasinski leads the League in three-pointers made per night with 2.5 and is third at 43.4 percent (63-of-145). LAFAYETTE VS. THE PATRIOT LEAGUE Lafayette has played 717 games against current Patriot League members, and has a 386-331 record. In Patriot League play, Lafayette is 139-186 in the regular season and 17-21 in the Patriot League Tournament. Under Fran O Hanlon, the Leopards are 126-129 in conference regular-season play. SPLASH MOUNTAIN Since arriving on College Hill, Joey Ptasinski and Seth Hinrichs have put their names in the Lafayette record books for three-point shooting. Hinrichs 148 puts him 12th all-time in three-pointers made, while Ptasinksi is eighth all-time with 160. Both are also in the top 15 in career attempts (Hinrichs - 323 & Ptasinski - 387) and Hinrichs 45.8 percent (148-of-323) is the highest in Patriot League history. THREE IS BETTER THAN TWO Along with their career success shooting the long ball, Seth Hinrichs and Joey Ptasinski had two of the top 15 singleseason performances in 2012-13. Hinrichs 45.6 percent (78-of-171) was the second best single-season percentage in Lafayette history behind Jim Mower 12, who hit 46.5 percent (92-of-198) in his senior year. Behind Hinrichs last season was Bryce Scott who drilled 42.7 percent of his three-point attempts (44-of-103), good for fourth all time and Ptasinski s 37.8 percent (65-of-172), which ranks 15th. #SUPERHOOPS Lafayette is fourth in the Patriot League with 182 three-point field goals. The Leopards average 7.3 three-pointers per game and are third the conference in three-point percentage, hitting 39.7 percent (182-of-459) from downtown. Lafayette s threepoint percentage is 18th in the nation. STOPS AND SHOTS On many occasions head coach Fran O Hanlon has said that making shots and getting stops is ultimately what decides basketball games. After Lafayette s 88-54 loss to Boston, Lafayette dropped to 0-7 when surrendering 85 points or more. Lafayette s win over Loyola gave it two victories when failing to score 72 points (2-12). STOPS? The Leopards are last in the Patriot League in points allowed per game (73.9), field goal percentage defense (46.0%) and eighth in three-point field goal percentage defense (36.9%). Lafayette is 0-7 when surrendering 85 points or more. HOFFMAN DIALS LONG DISTANCE Michael Hoffman has made the most of his limited opportunities to step outside the arc and shoot three-pointers this year. On the season, Hoffman is 7-of-10 from downtown, including a 6-of-8 effort in conference games. After opening Patriot League play with a miss at Navy (0-1), Hoffman made six in-a-row from distance, including a 2-for-2 night against Loyola (1/13). Hoffman missed his only attempt against Colgate to snap the streak. Career Three-Pointers Player 3FG Years 1. Andrew Brown 285 2005-09 2. Tyson Whitfield 271 1997-01 3. Jim Mower 235 2008-12 4. Trist registered his first-career double-double with 18 points and a career-high 14 rebounds against Robert Morris. He nearly made it back-to-back double doubles with his 19-point and nine-rebound effort at Princeton. In Lafayette s loss to Navy, Trist had 14 points and nine boards and has scored in double figures 16 times. Trist scored 21 points in the loss to Bucknell, the third time in his career he reached the 20-point plateau and posted his second double-double with 19 points and 10 boards in the win over American. HOFFMAN STEPS UP During the four-game absence of forward Alan Flannigan, freshman Michael Hoffman stepped into the starting lineup and helped solidify the frontcourt. Hoffman started four games and averaged 6.5 points and 2.0 rebounds per game in 17.5 minutes of action. In the loss to Army, Hoffman blocked three shots. Hoffman grabbed a career-high five rebounds in the loss to Bucknell and matched his career-best effort with nine points in the first meeting against Boston. The freshman has started six of Lafayette s 14 Patriot League contests. Hoffman sent back a career-high four shots in the win over Loyola, the most for any Lafayette player in one game this year. TURNOVER TALES During Lafayette s four-game December winning streak, the team turned the ball over less than its opponent in every game. In Lafayette s loss to St. Francis Brooklyn, the Leopards gave the ball away 19 times, which was a season high. Overall on the year, the Pards average 12.5 turnovers and force 12.0 for a -0.5 turnover margin, which is sixth in the Patriot League. When Lafayette forces less than 10 turnovers per game, its record is 1-6. CLEANING THE GLASS Lafayette struggled rebounding the basketball early in the year and its rebounding margin is -3.2, which slots the team eighth in the Patriot League. Lafayette is eighth in the conference in offensive rebounds (8.6 rpg), and is ninth in defensive boards (21.8 rpg). So far this year, Lafayette is 6-3 when winning the rebounding battle. GLASS HALF FULL Lafayette was 11-0 last season when shooting better than 50 percent from the field. After beating American and shooting 60 percent (27-of-45), Lafayette improved to 5-5 on the year when hitting at least half its shots. The losses came at American and Princeton, and at home against Yale, Bucknell and Boston. INCREASED ROLE Sophomore Ben Freeland saw his minutes increase over Lafayette s seven-game stretch from Seton Hall (12/27) to American (1/18). The 6-9 forward averaged 13.7 minutes, while scoring 3.1 points and pulling down 3.3 rebounds per outing during that span. Freeland set career-highs in points (8) at Seton Hall, rebounds (7) against Navy and steals at American (2). Freeland has started eight Patriot League games, but averages 8.7 minutes in conference play. Freeland has played less than 10 minutes in the last four games. FLANNIGAN UP FRONT Junior forward Alan Flannigan started every game for the Leopards before sitting out the Immaculata game with a knee injury. The Dexter, Mo. native missed four contests before returning to the starting five against Navy. Flannigan played 28 minutes in his return and scored a career-high 14 points, including a pair of three pointers. In conference play, Flannigan has started five games but has only played 15 total minutes over the last four games. COLONEL MUSTERS With his countryman Dan Trist in foul trouble early in the game against Villanova, sophomore Nathaniel Musters was called on to play important minutes off the bench against the Wildcats. The 6-10 center proved to be up to the challenge as he secured a career-and-team high six rebounds in 19 minutes of action. Needing to fill the void in the starting five left by Trist against Penn, Musters stepped in admirably with five points, five boards, three assists and two blocks in 20 minutes. Musters averaged 11.8 minutes and 2.5 rebounds per game in non-conference play. Since Patriot League play started, Musters has played in 11 of 14 games, is averaging 7.8 minutes and has played less than 10 minutes in four of the last five games. Musters blocked a career-high three shots in the win over Loyola. FOLLOW THE LEADER Lafayette s leading scorer last season, Seth Hinrichs (14.5 ppg) is leading the team with 17.4 points per game and has 13 career 20-point games after scoring a career-high 28 points in back-to-back games against Yale and Penn. Hinrichs scored 20 points in four straight games for the first time in his career prior to netting 12 against Wagner. 2013-14 LAFAYETTE BASKETBALL PAGE 4

WELCOME TO THE CLUB Junior Seth Hinrichs now has 1,019 career points. Hinrichs became the 39th member of Lafayette s 1,000-point club, and the eighth player to reach 1,000 points in his junior season when he scored 13 against Loyola. The other seven occupy seven of the top eight spots on Lafayette s all-time scoring list. EXTRA POSSESSIONS Over the last four seasons, Lafayette is 14-2 when winning both the rebounding and turnover margin in the same game. This year the Leopards are 2-0 when holding the edge in both categories, with victories coming against Wagner and Sacred Heart. SCOTT ERUPTION After sitting out the Immaculata game with a right ankle injury, sophomore Bryce Scott exploded for 35 points in Lafayette s three-point setback at St. Francis Brooklyn. The guard from El Dorado Hills, Calif. scored 22 of his career-high 35 points in the first half and his total was the most since Jim Mower 12 had 37 against Fairleigh Dickinson on Nov. 22, 2011. Scott made 10 of his 17 field goal attempts and went 11-of-12 at the free throw line in the loss. He hit four threes, including one that tied the game at 62 with 20 seconds to play. Scott became the 20th player in Lafayette history to score at least 35 points in a single game. POLL POSITION Lafayette was picked to finish second in the Patriot League s Preseason Poll behind new Patriot League member Boston University. The Terriers were a unanimous pick to finish at the top of the League as they collected 18 first-place votes and 162 points in the poll. The Leopards followed with the final two first-place votes and 130 points, while Army (115 points) was picked third. Defending Patriot League Champion Bucknell (113) finished fourth in the poll, while Loyola (109) was projected fifth. Lehigh (93), Holy Cross (70), Colgate (49), American (36), and Navy (23) rounded out the preseason poll. SHARING THE WEALTH Lafayette went 4-0 last season when at least five players reached double digits in scoring. Additionally, the Leopards were 10-1 when four or more players scored 10-plus points. Lafayette s only loss last year with four players scoring in double figures came at Maryland (83-74). Lafayette is 3-8 in 2013-14 when four players score at least 10 points. FINE AT THE LINE Lafayette shot 75.4 percent from the line in the 2012-13 season and was ranked 15th in the nation. This year, Lafayette is 339-of-456 (74.3 percent), which is second in the Patriot League. Bryce Scott is second in the conference with his 60-for-70 effort at the line and is tied for 66th in the country at 85.7 percent. WHEN IT MATTERS MOST Lafayette was even better at the line in crunch time last season. The team was 116-of-136 in the final five minutes of regulation and overtime, a 85.3 percent clip. This year Lafayette is 100-of-126 (79.4 percent). LEADING THE CHARGE One of the contributing factors to Lafayette s four-game non-conference winning streak was the play of Nick Lindner at point guard. The rookie scored in double figures in every game during the winning streak and was second on the team with 15.8 points per game during the stretch. He racked up 16 assists, compared to three turnovers, and shot 50.0 percent from the floor (14-of-28). Lindner did most of his damage at the free throw stripe, where he was 81.8 percent (32-of-37). His 24 points against Sacred Heart were the most ever for a freshman since Brian Ehlers 00 had 23 against Navy on March 2, 1997. ROOKIE OF THE WEEK Nick Lindner scored a then career-high 18 points in Lafayette s narrow loss to Yale (79-76). The rookie PG hit on 5-of-8 from the floor and was perfect at the line (7-for-7), in addition to handing out five assists and pulling in a season-high five rebounds. He followed up that effort with another double-digit scoring performance as he netted 12 in Lafayette s threepoint win over in-state rival Penn. Lindner went 8-of-10 at the charity stripe and had four assists with only one turnover in the victory. Over those two games Lindner averaged 15 points, three rebounds and 4.5 assists en route to earning his first Patriot League Rookie of the Week honor. 1,000 Point Scorers Player Points Seasons 1. He scored 17 points, including 13-of-14 at the free throw line, while dishing out three assists in the 77-65 win over the Seahawks. He followed with a career-high 24 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the field and 6-of-6 at the stripe in an 86-79 decision at Sacred Heart. Lindner also added five assists in the Leopards third straight win. For the week, Lindner was 19-of-20 (95%) at the foul line and 10-of-16 (62.5%) from the field while also managing eight assists and three steals with just one turnover in the two contests. ROOKIE REWARD TIMES THREE Freshman point guard Nick Lindner was named the Patriot League Men s Basketball Rookie of the Week for the third time this season on Jan. 13. Lindner averaged 13.5 points and 4.0 assists per game in a pair of high-scoring contests for the Leopards. He had 11 points and three assists in a 96-86 loss to Bucknell on Jan. 8, and put up 16 points with five assists in an 89-78 loss to Boston University three days later. The freshman made 7-of-13 shots and 12-of-15 free throws. EXAMINING WAGNER Lafayette s second best defensive performance of the season against a non-conference opponent led the Leopards to a 77-65 win over Wagner. The 12-point win was the largest of the season at that point (Immaculata, 25). The Leopards also matched a season high in rebounds with 38 (Princeton). Nick Lindner led the team at the line by knocking down 13-of-14 attempts, the most since Frank Barr 01 made 15-of-17 against Colgate on Feb. 24, 2001. PICKING APART THE PIONEERS The Leopards raced out of the gate against Sacred Heart and scored 45 points before intermission. The team ended up with 86 points on a season-high 33 made field goals and also took care of the basketball (nine turnovers). It was the first time Lafayette won consecutive December road games since 2007. EARLY SEASON SLIDE Lafayette opened its season with five straight losses, which matched the longest losing streak (2002-03) to start a season in the Fran O Hanlon era. In each of those five contests, Lafayette held a second-half lead and two of the games (Princeton and NJIT) needed overtime to determine a winner. Lafayette also lost 79-76 at the buzzer to Yale on a 27-foot three-pointer by Javier Duren. 2013-14 LAFAYETTE BASKETBALL PAGE 5

Matched up against 2012-13 Big East All-Rookie Team selection Ryan Arcidiacono, Lindner scored eight points, handed out seven assists, grabbed four rebounds and had a steal in 33 minutes, while making his first-career start. Lindner had four turnovers in the game, but his seven assists were the most for a Lafayette freshman in his debut under Fran O Hanlon. Lindner was the first freshman point guard to start his career at that position since Tim Bieg 01 did it in 1997. DAY OF REST During Fran O Hanlon s tenure as the head coach on College Hill, Lafayette has played in 96 games with one day or less off between games. In that time the Leopards have a 46-50 overall mark, but are 18-30 in true road games. The Leopards fell on the road to Loyola, 77-64, after only having one day of rest. In home and neutral site games, the Leopards are 28-20. FRAN O HANLON IN 19th SEASON ON COLLEGE HILL The all-time winningest coach in Lafayette and Patriot League history and longest-tenured coach in the conference, Fran O Hanlon (Villanova, 70) is in his 19th season as the Leopards head coach. Detmer, a Government & Law major, played in 48 career games for the Maroon and White entering 2013-14 and was named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll in 2012-13. Hinrichs was named Second Team All-Patriot League as a sophomore after averaging 15.5 points and 4.9 rebounds per game. Hinrichs is a career 46-percent three-point shooter. CLASS ACT Junior shooting guard Joey Ptasinski was one of five Patriot League men s basketball student-athletes selected to the Academic All-Patriot League Team. Ptasinski carries a 3.53 cumulative GPA in Biology and averaged better than nine points per game in the regular season for the Leopards. His 3.53 GPA was the highest among the five players who were recognized. Ptasinski, who started 17 games, stepped into the sixth-man role during Patriot League play and finished second on the team with 65 made three pointers. He was second on the team with 36 takeaways, a number that slotted him seventh among Patriot League players. Ptasinski has scored in double-figures in 16 games this year. THE IVY LEAGUE Lafayette s 2013-2014 docket featured a trio of Ivy League foes. The Leopards annual meeting with Princeton at Jadwin Gymasium was a one-point overtime loss for the Maroon and White and Yale knocked off the Leopards on Javier Duren s buzzer-beating 27 footer on Nov. 26. Lafayette then defeated Penn 79-76 for its second-straight win over the Quakers. THERE S NO PLACE LIKE HOME Lafayette s win over Lehigh in the Patriot League semifinal improved the team s record to 14-3 at Kirby Sports Center last year. The team started 1-2 at home before winning eight straight against Delaware, St. Francis Pa., Sacred Heart, Arcadia, NJIT, Navy, Holy Cross and the Colgate. Lafayette s eight-game winning streak was the longest since it won 16 consecutive home games to end 1999-00 and open the 2000-01 campaign. Going into this year, Lafayette had won five straight at Kirby Sports Center before falling to Robert Morris. The Leopards are 5-7 at home this season after beating American. TUNING IN TO W S Lafayette s loss to Army was the only blemish on the Leopards Lafayette Sports Network Television schedule last season. The team opened its LSN-TV slate with six victories, including an overtime triumph against LIU-Brooklyn before knocking off Delaware, St. Francis Pa., Navy, Holy Cross and Colgate. Lafayette righted the ship with its 63-62 win over Bucknell and finished the season 9-1 on LSN after blowing out Holy Cross in the Patriot League Tournament quarterfinal. So far in 2013-14, Lafayette is 3-5 on LSN. KIRBY SPORTS CENTER RENOVATIONS Lafayette s arena for basketball and volleyball underwent a $1.7 million transformation prior to the start of the 2013-14 academic year which included brand new seating, floor design, painting, lighting, video board and LED scorers tables, as well as a new sound system for the venue. For additional information and a step-by-step look at the renovations visit www.goleopards.com. Patriot League Tournament With the addition of Boston University and Loyola Maryland to the Patriot League this season, the Patriot League Tournament will feature all 10 members. All of the games will be played at the home site of the higher seed. First-round contests will feature the 10th-seed at the seventh-seed, with the winner advancing to play the second seed, and the ninth-seed at the eighth-seed with the winner moving on to play the regular season champion. Each tournament will then move to the quarterfinals held at the top four seeds, followed by the semifinals and championship at the site of the higher seeds. The bracket will not re-seed, and the tournament is slated to begin with the first round on March 3th, with the quarterfinals on March 5th and the semifinals on the 8th. The Patriot League Championship will be played on March 12th at 7:30 p.m. and can be seen on CBS Sports Network. JACKET WATCH Lafayette fans have become accustomed to seeing head coach Fran O Hanlon patrol the Leopards sideline without wearing his suit jacket. The game within the game is seeing how long into a game O Hanlon will go before losing his sport coat. Against Villanova, O Hanlon ditched his jacket at the 19:00 mark of the first half, the furthest into a game it has stayed on this season. NO BOARDING PASS NEEDED Including the return trips to Easton, Pa., Lafayette traveled a total of 12,969 miles in 2012-13. The Leopards have a much easier road ahead in 2013-14 with the furthest scheduled trip 286 miles away in Boston, Mass. KNOCKING OFF THE RUST Lafayette played in two preseason scrimmages in preparation for the 2013-14 season. The Leopards played Columbia at home on Oct. 26 and then met Hartford on Nov. 2 in West Point, N.Y. 2012-13 SEASON IN REVIEW Lafayette finished the 2012-13 campaign with a 19-15 overall record and a 10-4 mark in Patriot League play that earned the Leopards the number-two seed in the Patriot League Tournament. The team advanced to the Patriot League championship game for the third time in four years after reeling off seven consecutive victories going into the game at Bucknell. The Bison came away with the victory and NCAA Tournament berth, but it was Lafayette s run that Leopard fans won t soon forget. Led by point guard Tony Johnson 13 the Leopards were spectacular at home, winning 14 of their 17 games at Kirby Sports Center, including a 79-71 win over Lehigh in the tournament semifinal to complete a season sweep against the Mountain Hawks.
