Overview of the Competition Opening Section Fun Wear: Contestants should wear an outfit that represents their personal interests. This could include a hobby or activity they enjoy, a team uniform, or any casual clothing that best represents the contestant. Please make sure all Fun Wear clothing is age appropriate. The pageant director has the right to reject any clothing the night of the pageant if clothing is questionable. Talent Section: This portion of the pageant is where the contestant showcases a special talent. (Dancing, Singing, Acting, Playing a musical instrument etc.) Talent portion should be no longer than 2 minutes. Time limit of 2 minutes will strictly be enforced. A microphone will be provided. If the contestant has music that needs to be played, the music should be emailed to leslie.doss@cabotschools.org or burned to a cd and given to the pageant director the night of rehearsal. Contestants should have two copies of the cd just in case! Please mark the cds with the contestant s full name. Evening Wear Section: During this portion of the pageant, contestants show their grace and pose in a formal evening gown. No cocktail dresses are allowed. On-Stage Question Section: Contestants will be asked one of the five on-stage questions. (A copy of the questions will be given to contestants at the pageant rehearsal.) Contestants should answer the question to the best of their ability. Answers should be around 30 seconds in length. The question will be asked at the end of their evening wear model by one of the pageant MCs. This portion of the pageant accounts for 10% of the contestant s pageant score.
Please email a photo to leslie.doss@cabotschools.org. The photo will be used for the judges. On Thursday, April 19 th, you will receive an email from Leslie Doss. It will contain a google form for your pageant fact sheet. Your answers must be submitted by Monday, April 23 rd.
Rules and Regulations 1. Contestants must be a student at Cabot Freshman Academy, Cabot Jr. High North or Cabot Jr. High South. 2. Contestants must compete in all divisions of the competition. Divisions are: Opening number (Fun Wear), Talent, Evening Wear and On-Stage Question. 3. All constants must email a photo to leslie.doss@cabotschools.org for the judges by Wednesday, April 18. 4. The entry deadline, which includes application form, photo and entry fee payment of $25, is Wednesday, April 18 2016. No late applications will be accepted. 5. On Thursday, April 19 th, you will receive an email from Leslie Doss. It will contain a google form for your pageant fact sheet. Your answers must be submitted by Monday, April 23 rd at midnight. 6. All contestants must attend the pageant rehearsal on Thursday, April 26 from 4:00 6:00 pm held in the Cabot Freshman Academy Cafeteria. Contestants MUST remain for the entire rehearsal. If contestants cannot stay for the entire rehearsal, they will not be allowed to compete in the pageant. NO EXCEPTIONS! 7. Contestants may have only ONE backstage assistant during the pageant. No other family members or friends will be allowed backstage. 8. Contestants must have good moral character, possess poise, personality, intelligence and charm. Should there be a problem of any kind during the pageant, after the pageant, or related events, the contestant is to go to the director. Any unruly, unsportsmanlike, or any unbecoming conduct by a contestant or member of her entourage, or any disregard for the rules and regulations for the pageant, will result in immediate dismissal from the competition without refund. 9. In the event any title holder resigns or has her title revoked, she must return her crown in condition given. We hope that the Jr. Miss Cabot Pageant is an honest, fun-filled pageant that everyone may enjoy. Wednesday, April 18, 2018: Entry deadline, which includes application form, photo and entry fee payment of $25. No late applications will be accepted. You may turn application in at your school s front office or mail to Leslie Doss, Cabot High School, 401 N Lincoln Street, Cabot, AR 72023. An email will be sent to your parent s email address on the application form with entry confirmation. Monday, April 23, 2018 Submit your pageant fact sheet that was sent through your school email on Thursday, April 19 th. Thursday, April 26, 2018: Pageant rehearsal from 4:00 6:00 pm at Cabot Freshman Academy Cafeteria. All contestants must be in attendance. The pageant portions will be blocked by schools. We will begin with Cabot Jr. High North contestants, second will be Cabot Jr. High South contestants and last will be Cabot Freshman Academy contestants. We will walk through the opening Fun Wear number, walk through the evening gown section, and contestants will be given a copy of the 5 questions that will be used during the on-stage interview. At the end of the rehearsal, any contestant that wants to rehearse their talent number on stage will have that opportunity. Friday, April 27, 2016: Doors to the backstage area will be open at 4:00 pm. Contestants and ONE back stage assistant may arrive at that time to prepare for the opening fun-wear number. Contestants should arrive no later than 4:30 pm. All contestants MUST be ready to line up backstage at 5:30 pm. It is mandatory that you be ready on time. Doors to the cafeteria will open at 5:00 pm. The show will begin promptly at 6:00 pm. At a date/time to be announced: Contestants will be photographed for the newspaper. Please dress nice for the photo. No shorts will be allowed. Ticket cost is $5 (5 years old and under are free.) Tickets may be purchased at the door the night of the pageant.
