GREATER DAYTON CORVETTE CLUB (GDCC) Minutes October 18, 2017 President Freddie Haugh called the meeting to order. Forty-three members were in attendance. GUESTS: The Club welcomed: Jerry and Mary Beth Burke owners of a 2017 Watkins Glen Gray coupe. Jerry and Mary Beth joined the Club at tonight s meeting. Jeff and Cheryl Farnsley, owners of a 2016 yellow Z51. Jeff and Cheryl recently joined the Club. ANNOUNCEMENTS: Freddie thanked Donna Tucker and Dan Gorby for planning the September 26 dinner out to Stonehouse Tavern in Waynesville. VICE PRESIDENT: Bob Haugh called for the following committee reports: SECRETARY S REPORT: Larry Kopa motioned dispensing with reading of the September minutes. Steve Stoker seconded. TREASURER S REPORT: Herbie Smith provided the report. SOCIAL: Freddie recapped the following events in Donna Tucker s absence: October 19: Dinner out at Bag O Nails, Crosse Point Center, Centerville OH, hosted by Russ and Gail Hodge. November 2-4: Vets and Vettes, NCM, Bowling Green KY November 17: Dinner out at the Amber Rose, Valley Street, Dayton OH hosted by Donna and Dan. December 6: Dinner out at Carvers, Centerville OH, hosted by Donna and Dan. MEMBERSHIP: Carol Tavener reported that we currently have 141 members including new members Jerry and Mary Beth Burke who joined this evening. Judy Smith said that membership due notices will be sent out the beginning of November. PUBLIC RELATIONS: No report.

EDITOR/ WEBMASTER: No report. NATIONAL CORVETTE MUSEUM (NCM) AMBASSADOR: Tom Brooks said that he has raffle tickets for a 2018 white exterior/red interior 2LT. The tickets are $10.00 each and the car will be raffled at the NCM in February 2018. Larry Kopa added that the NCM is selling 1000 tickets at $150.00 each for a 2018 Watkins Glen Gray which will be raffled in November. President s Corner: Old Business Freddie distributed name tags to those who ordered one. She said that at last month s meeting it was voted to disperse $500.00 each to organizations for Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma. The JJ Wattes Foundation as well as organizations in Florida was no longer accepting monetary donations. After checking a few places she found an organization, Direct Relief, which will give 100% of donations to victims. Freddie had Herbie send $1000.00 to them with the request that the money be used for the victims in Puerto Rico. New Business Freddie reminded members that November is the month for president, vicepresident, treasurer, and secretary 2018 nominations. Bob Haugh indicated that he is not running for vice-president next year. He also suggested that new and existing members should get involved. Freddie received a very nice note from personnel from the Kettering Holiday at Home for the Club s participation in their parade. She received an invitation for our Club to participate in Springboro s Christmas parade on Saturday, November 18. The parade starts at 10:00 a.m. Last year only three Corvettes were part of the parade. If you would like to participate, please let Freddie know. Glendale Corvette Club, Cincinnati OH is hosting a day ride on October 21 to Bluelick Battlefield State Park with lunch and a tour of the museum. If you are interested, let Freddie know and she will give you the contact information. Freddie received and e-mail from Jack Hickman, a member of our club. He will be participating in the Germantown Car Show on Saturday, October 21, and the Enon Car Show on Sunday, October 22. Jack said to look him up if you are at any of these shows. Carol Tavener said that the Huber Heights Oldies Radio Station 97.3 does free advertising for non-profit organizations that is available should our Club decide it wants to advertise any information.
