Improper attachment or misuse of the bike carrier may damage the bike carrier, bicycles loaded on the carrier, the vehicle carrying the carrier, or vehicles moving behind, and may result in ZROUS situations due to possible collision or swerving of the vehicle. Install this bike carrier on a vehicle having a complete roof rack system with cross bars. Inspect the bike carrier before and after loading the bicycles for damaged or missing components. If problems are detected, discontinue use and seek repair or replacement parts prior to use. Check for tightness of the straps at regular intervals, as the bicycle may shift during travel. 7 PRTS/LISTE E PIECES SSELY 5 Insert free end of the wheel strap (E) into the wheel stop and wind the strap around the wheel tray (). Lock the strap end into its buckle (1). Repeat for the second wheel stop. Note: Ensure the wheel strap is around the wheel tray. Repeat the same procedure for inserting the wheel straps on the other assembled carrier. E 1 E 10 11 Turn the carrier upside down. Insert the bolt (T) into the inner-most hole and secure using flat washer () and lock nut (plated) (R). Repeat the same procedure for assembling the crossbar to the other assembled carrier. Turn the carrier right-side up. O T R PRTS/LISTE E PIECES SSELY 7 8 Fit the wheel tray end caps (I) to each end of the wheel tray, inserting the wheel tray into the inner pocket of the end caps. Repeat the same procedure for fitting the wheel tray end caps on the other assembled carrier. Note: It is recommended to execute step 19 through 1 on page 9 to test-fit the bicycle on the carrier prior to mounting. djust the carrier accordingly by relocating the rack arm position along the wheel tray (refer step 1), if necessary, prior to completing step 9. I I 1 13 lign the hole on the upper roof rack threaded plate () with the corresponding hole at the outer end of the crossbar (O). Insert bolt (T) and flat washer () through the top side of the crossbar into the aligned holes attaching the upper roof rack threaded plate to the crossbar. Repeat the same procedure for the other assembled carrier. O T 9 Place the two assembled carriers on the crossbar (O) in such a way that the bolt holes on the bottom plates () of the rack arms align with holes at each end of the crossbar. O 1 15 Fix another upper roof rack threaded plate () at the rear end of the wheel tray using the bolt (K), roof rack barrel spacer (S), and flat washer (). Ensure the upper roof rack threaded plate is parallel to the wheel tray when tightening. Repeat the same procedure for the other assembled carrier. K S
9 1 LOING ICYCLES ON TE IKE CRRIER Place the assembled carrier on the roof rack of the vehicle in such a way that the upper roof rack threaded plates () are fitted on the front roof rack cross bar (3) and rear roof rack cross bar () of the vehicle roof rack system (not included). 19 Unlock the open locking mechanism (5) of the stand bar using the key (C). Pull the protective jaws () of the stand bar apart. 5 C 3 OPERTION KEY PRTS/LISTE E PIECES INSTRUCTIONS/INSTRUCTIONS SSELY/SSELGE SSELY 8 17 Fix two lower roof rack plates (N) with the upper roof rack threaded plates using bolts (L) to secure the carrier to the front roof rack cross bar of the vehicle. Tighten the bolts inserted in the upper roof rack threaded plate using nuts (F) in the lower roof rack plates (N). 0 Place the bicycle on the bike carrier in such a way that the bicycle downtube (7) is held between the protective jaws (). 7 L N F 18 Fix two lower roof rack plates (N) with the upper roof rack threaded plates () on the rear roof rack cross bar of the vehicle using bolts (L) to secure the wheel trays with the rear roof rack cross bar. Tighten the bolts inserted in the upper roof rack threaded plate using nuts (F) in the lower roof rack plates (N). 1 L lign the rack arm () at an angle of 90 with respect to the bicycle down tube (8). 10 11 PRTS/LISTE E PIECES SSELY/SSELGE OPERTION Note: In case of misalignment: (a) Turn the carrier upside down. Remove the four /5" (10 mm) nuts (9), washers (10), and bolts (11) (preassembled) from each corner of the rack arm base plate on each rack arm and remove the back plate. 9 10 11 3 Secure the tires (1) of the bicycle with the wheel trays using the wheel straps (). For detailed information on positioning of the strap holders refer to page 5, step 3. Note: Ensure the wheel straps are around the bicycle tires and wheel trays to avoid movement of the bicycle. Note: ake sure the wheel stops () are ahead of the front tire and behind the rear tire. 1 1 PRTS/LISTE E PIECES SSELY/SSELGE OPERTION (b) Remove the #3 cross-head screws (J), flat washers () and nuts (black) (F) to disassemble the wheel tray () from the rack arm (). djust the rack arm location along the wheel tray and then reattach using the screws and nuts. J (c) Replace the back plate and nuts, washers, and bolts. (d) Return to step 9 to complete assembly and installation. F Push the protective jaws () towards each other so the bicycle frame is firmly secured. If the jaw opening requires adjustment, rotate the open locking mechanism (5) to expand or contract the jaw opening, ensuring a tight and secured fit to the bicycle frame when closed. Lock the locking mechanism using the key. 5 CUTION: Check for tightness of the straps at regular intervals, as the straps may loosen and the bicycle may shift during travel. Inspect more frequently when travelling on bumpy roads. Remove the bike carrier from the vehicle when not in use to avoid additional wear on both the vehicle and the carrier.
