Topsy Ring Commencing at 9am Held in dressage arena 1. Entry fee: $3.50 per class Riders who compete in this ring MAY NOT compete in the show jumping classes. These classes are designed for riders who do not compete on a regular basis. Neat attire. No jackets. Plaiting of mounts is not allowed. Riding boots and an approved helmet are required. SHOW JUMPING There are aggregate High Point Awards for each height grouping. A horse may jump in two height levels, but only win one aggregate award. Riders must pay nomination fee in the morning, to be eligible for single show or three show aggregate awards. Sunday 26 th January 2014 Saturday 15 th March 2014 Sunday 13th April 2014. All three shows are stand alone events. To be run under PCAV Show jumping Rules Sashes to 3 rd place & Ribbons to 6 th place A horse/pony may only jump at two height levels. At this show each Aggregate Champion Show Jumper, at each height, will be awarded The perpetual Carpet Court trophy and a garland and trophy. A nomination fee nominates a horse to two height aggregates. We will record all results to sixth place in each aggregate. Each height level will be kept separate. Points earned at a height level must stay at that level. A horse and rider combination may only win one rug. Jumping Definitions Open Two Phase (Power and Speed) This competition comprises two phases run without interruption, the finishing line for the first phase being the starting line for second phase. Horses with penalties in the first phase, are not permitted to complete the second phase. The second phase is against the clock and placings are according to penalties in this phase. One Round Stakes Aim to jump a clear round in quickest time Am7 One round of course, to be followed by second round of jump off course, for any competitor who has completed a clear round. The competitor must remain in the ring if the first round is clear, as after passing between the finish flags the competitor will be given a bell to indicate they have 30 seconds to start the jump off course Top Score Each obstacle carries from 10 to 120 points according to its difficulty. Combination obstacles are not allowed. The obstacles must be built so that they can be jumped in both directions. A rider has 60 seconds. During this time, he may jump all the obstacles he wishes in any order and in any direction. Each obstacle may be jumped twice but only once in each direction. The rider may cross the starting line in either direction. Ringing the bell declares the end of the round. The rider must then cross the finishing line in one direction or the other. If a jump rail is knocked the first time it is jumped, it cannot be jumped again. The rider who has obtained the highest number of points will be declared the winner. Open Championship Competitors with a clear round in the first round, are called back for a jump off round against the clock, at the completion of the first round. 6 Bar 6 jumps in a line, 11 metres apart. Jump heights range between 45cm and 75cm or 60cm and 90cm for the first round. A clear round entitles the horse to enter the next round which will be at a raised heights. No more than 5 rounds. Show Jumping Ring - Dress Code This is not a Freshman s Show Jumping Day. Please dress appropriately for the show jumping ring. Examples of acceptable clothing include:_ Pony club uniform Collared shirt ( not polo shirt) Riding jacket We will record all results to sixth place in each aggregate. Dressage test may be called Riders do not have to be PCAV members or be graded. It is assumed that riders will be fairly new to dressage competition. Riders may only ride in one section. Section one May be led/accompanied Section two Independent rider Sunday 13th April 2014 Topsy Show Jumping starting time 10am. Judge: Entry fee $3.50 Competitors in this arena may not compete in the show jumping in the other 3 rings which start at 45cm. Held in dressage arena one. The course will consist of six single jumps. (no A B combinations) Competitors may jump the same height more than once. Rosette for first successful completion, then ribbon for successful completion. 1. Poles on ground. 2. 20cm height. 3. 30cm height 4. 40cm height Conditions of Entry 1. The committee reserves the right to alter, add or delete from the program. 2. The stewards reserve the right to vary the order of events if deemed necessary. 3. All exhibitors and spectators must obey the direction of an official of the Ballarat Pony Club, including parking attendants, or leave the grounds, 4. The committee and the Ballarat Pony Club accept no responsibility for any injury, damage or loss sustained by any competitor, spectator, animal or equipment. 5. The judges decision will be final. 6. A horse or pony may jump at two height levels for example 60cm and 75cm but not any higher or lower. (The exception s are the 6 Bar event and the 115cm event) 7. In classes judged by age of rider, proof of age may be required. Age to be taken as at 26 th January 2014. 8. Any rider riding a horse at this event must wear protective head gear to required standards ( complying standards AS/NZS 3838, EN 1384, ASIMF 1163 or PAS 015) The retaining harness must be secured and fastened at all times. Riders without approved headgear shall be ineligible to compete until rectified. This rule applies to all event riders including walking the course. 9. In height classes, exhibits may be transferred at the discretion of the judge. 10. Any protest, which must be made in writing must be in the hands of the Ringmaster no later than half an hour after the event. Protests to be accompanied by $50, which will be forfeited if the protest is deemed frivolous or not upheld. 11. The disputes committee comprises of the President, DC and the show chairman. 12. No dogs or alcohol permitted on the Ballarat Pony Club grounds 13. Any competitor not wishing to have their names printed in the press or handed on to the appropriate bodies must notify the Show Secretary in writing by 4:30pm on Show Day. 14. No refunds will be given, unless a vet or medical certificate is supplied
