NIGHTQUARTER ACCESSIBILITY GUIDE (see also Emergency Evacuation Plan and Site Map) At NightQuarter we aim to ensure everyone s visit is as enjoyable as possible. We are committed to providing suitable access for all our guests, whatever their individual needs. In this statement, we aim to accurately describe our facilities and services to give you the confidence to visit our venue and know if it meets your requirements. Venue Summary NightQuarter is a festival every weekend and trades every Friday and Saturday, 4-10pm. It is home to over 100 vendors, offering street food, restaurants, backyard grill, 6 bars, home wares, fashion and accessories. The site is licensed and minors are permitted if accompanied by a legal guardian over 25 years. There is free parking for 2500 car spots. Accessible permit holders can park all day. Music is performed live in 4 key areas across the venue. At the entrance, in Tapas St, in The Backyard and on the main stage in The Paddock. You may find information on what is on at the front entry with set times available on the container walls. If in doubt ask the entry staff. It is also available at www.nightquarter.com.au/whatson. NightQuarter was named in 2017 Best Live Venue on the Gold Coast. Please make yourself known at the front entry to staff or security should you require assistance. Site Terms and Conditions are posted at the front entry. One point to note is that pets are not allowed due to food hygiene reasons however guide dogs are accepted. You must wear shoes and we do not accept folding chairs (unless there is a requirement). NightQuarter is a family environment where 1 in 5 are children. Entry is $3, under 12 and carers/companions are free. Toilet facilities at the front entry and rear entrance have adjacent wheelchair accessible toilets. The carpark is accessible off the Helensvale South exit off Pacific Highway and Town Centre Drive exit off Gold Coast Highway. The car park is well lit and security camera monitored with 24 hours security. There are designated accessible parking spaces outside the southern entrance of Westfield marked with a wheelchair symbol. Pathways and crossings lead to our front gate with no steps. Note; parking and pathways are not undercover however all the designated spaces are clearly marked and contained in a separate area. See pictured:
If this distance is unsuitable, we have a back entrance on Town Centre Drive where you can be dropped off. Call the Site Manager on arrival so we may assist. The number is on the gate or you can call 0412 680 144 on arrival. Taxi services or Uber assist service is available for pick up outside the front entry, the bus stop opposite the crossing or at the taxi rank in front of the Westfield Southern entrance. PUBLIC TRANSPORT NightQuarter is close to the Helensvale station for trains, light rail and buses where you can walk down the pathway and cross a crossing to get safely and easily to the NightQuarter entrance. See pictured: MAIN ENTRANCE The main entrance into NightQuarter is 6.075M wide and covered. It is asphalt, level and open with a divided access to direct those that are entering and exiting. The height of the entrance is 2.7M.
You will be greeted by NightQuarter staff and security at the front entrance. We have two orange barrels where we collect the $3 and are prepared for change if you have a larger note. We do not take eftpos at this point however there is an ATM just inside the entry. COMMON AREAS All pathways are asphalt and approximately 6.4M wide to allow for easy access for wheelchairs, prams and walkers. The general construction of buildings is with shipping containers. All eating areas are either level or accessible by ramp as pictured below. The Alley The Alley, is to the right as you enter NightQuarter. Vendors sell to customers outside of the container so there is no need for ramps to enter.
High Street High Street is straight ahead when you enter NightQuarter and is divided in the middle with marquees. It is often easier to move to the left of the marquees during peak times and to avoid the scattered umbrellas and A-Frames, pictured below:
And to the right, Tapas Street The first precinct to the right as you move through High Street is Tapas Street which is covered by white hangers to the left and right covering all the seating on the decks. This area has 12 unique restaurants and are accessed by ramps immediately to the left and right:
And to the left: And have ramps at the other end of the decking on both sides. The area is pictured below: Tables can be pre-booked in Tapas and The Backyard with table service by calling 1800 264 448 extension functions or emailing functions@nightquarter.com.au. Staff in these areas also can assist with menus. Menu choices offer gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options. Hawker Street The second main eating area is Hawker Street which is fully covered:
The Backyard The Backyard is fully covered and consists of The Grill and the XXXX bar.
Back Street Please note that there is a slight incline in the pathway in Back Street adjacent to The Backyard and Little NightQuarter to assist water drainage when it rains. Side Street Side Street is adjacent to The Paddock with boho clothing, engraved wood, wildlife experiences, tarot card readings and recycled wooden homewares The Paddock The Paddock is the main entertainment area and undercover. There are two bars, seating and bean bags.

The Paddock Stage All tables and chairs may be moved to accommodate wheelchairs. The majority of tables are 750mm, with a few outside of The Backyard and in Tapas Street that are designed at stool height. There are seats with backings and armrests available in Hawker Street and Tapas Street. Beanbags are available in The Paddock. Counters to food containers are 1150cm high in High Street however are lower in Tapas Street, 1050cm and easier to reach. Most vendors offer cash and eftpos services, however there is also an ATM to the left of the front entry and in The Backyard should a vendor not have eftpos services. See example of food being served from a container: SIGNAGE Directions are at the front entry with a totem pole or pictured on a map at the entry. Main entertainment times are on a large light up sign at the entry of The Paddock on the left.
GALLERY The Gallery private function area only has stair access (approx 2.9m height, 20 stairs) however function areas are also available in The Depot, The Backyard and Tapas St and accessible. Should you be attending a Gallery private function, we can extend the function into a private area at the bottom of the stairs to make the function accessible. See picture of the Depot and ramp at the back of The Paddock. There is a bar behind the seating:
At the other end of The Paddock, closer to the stage there is a slightly inclined area to another alternate bar, The Baroque: Note: The flooring is fake grass in The Paddock which has been laid on compacted sand. COVER NightQuarter is a hectare in size. 70% of the site is covered, particularly all the eating areas! TICKETED EVENTS Occasionally The Paddock area is booked for ticketed events. An area is sectioned off that is elevated on Depot Deck that is accessible and provides viewing over people. Please make yourself known at the front gate so seating and any assistance required can be guided by NightQuarter staff. ACCESSIBLE TOILETS Accessible toilets are to the left of the front entry and accessible by ramp. These toilets are clearly marked on our map. Ramp going up to two accessible toilets are pictured below to the immediate left of the site entry:
Accessible toilets are also available at the rear entry of the venue on the right. These toilets are clearly marked on our map. VISION All containers in each precinct are colour coded per the attached map. Braille is on the left hand side of all toilets. Menus are usually on display at most food vendors however the majority have samples of what the food will look like also on the front counters. There are no dog parks for guide dogs in close proximity to the venue however there are grassed areas around the exterior. HEARING Some staff understand basic Auslan. Please ask at the Site Office to the left of the front entry. Captions are enabled on the sports screens in The XXXX bar located in The Backyard. Emergency equipment (eg fire hose, extinguishers) are clearly marked. Emergency Exits are clearly marked. STAFF All management have undergone Disability Awareness training. Security staff and traffic controller on the crossing are rostered at all times during trade. NightQuarter has an inclusive hiring policy.
EVACUATION The event of evacuation, the muster point is the pathway to the left leading up to Westfield noted clearly on the map shown at the front and rear entrances. Should you require assistance, please contact the Site Manager on duty on 0412 680 144. FIRST AID The First Aid Facility is located in the Site Office to the left inside the entrance of NightQuarter. Qualified First Aid Officers are on duty every shift and all security have been trained in first aid.
