Building Skills: Levels 1 & 2 Carlos Onofre & Michael May Terrace Pavillion This session offers a back to the basics approach to building skills. This summer s focus is on foundational skills and the importance of teaching proper technique in all skill sets and at all skill levels. The USASF has formalized the divisions and rules that will be offered during the 2013-2014 season and is requiring coaches to be credentialed. Attend the Special Needs sessions to receive the training in person. Cultivate the talent in which you have already invested your time training. Take them to the next level through a Junior Coaches program. Shake Your Groove Thing! Matt Goto Mesa Verde Ever wonder how choreographers construct the dance section of a winning routine? This session will provide an overview of what goes into a dance that rocks the mat AND coaches will get up and move (to actually Shake their Groove Thing). Learn a few 8-counts to take back to your gym. Talk the Talk & Walk the Walk: Athlete Placement Patrick Fogarty Lido The athlete has strong level 2 skills and they are working on level 3 skills (that are no where near ready to put in a routine, let alone perform at a competition and be judged) however they are insisting to be placed on the level 3 team. How do you keep the balance within your program where you keep your customers happy and set your teams up for success? This session will discuss developing your philosophy for team placements, communicating it to your customers and building a culture that puts the team s and program s success first! GENERAL MEMBERSHIP SESSION: 3:35 5:30 pm Lido Focus on the Future: Size DOES Matter!
