1 Introduction The Sunshine Coast Cricket Association is proud to host the QJCA Under 15 Championships this year and look forward to welcoming you to The Coast in December. This Newsletter is the first of 2 Newslletters which will outline important information for your teams. If you are planning to come to the coast it is advisable that you book any required private accommodation as soon as possible as holiday time is pretty full on. The following may assist with your planning. The teams will be staying at the Sunshine Coast Recreation Centre at Currimundi. However, matches will be played at Caloundra Cricket Club (approx 10 mins), Yandina Cricket Club (approx 30 mins) and Nambour Showgrounds (approx 25 mins). There is a huge range of accommodation options on the Sunshine Coast and anywhere from Caloundra to Coolum (all along the coastline) will have you fairly centrally located between the 3 venues being used. If you wanted a beach environment, you could look around Caloundra, Mooloolaba, Maroochydore, Cotton Tree and Coolum and you ll find plenty to choose from. While the majority of the accommodation is along the coast line, there are motels and B & B s scattered around the Hinterland areas (Yandina & Nambour) but the range won t be as extensive. It is important to check with any booking that the room has air-conditioning at this time of the year as some may not. 2 Competition The Championships will be contested by the 12 QJCA Zone Teams Cricket Far North North Queensland Central Queensland Mackay-Whitsunday Wide Bay Metropolitan South West Sunshine Coast Gold Coast Darling Downs & SW Qld Brisbane North BEARS South East Queensland 3 Championship Games Venues Two matches will be played daily at each of the following Venues Yandina Cricket Club Thomson Oval & Thorogood Oval - 8 North Street Yandina Nambour Cricket Club- Nambour Showgrounds No1 & No2 Coronation Avenue Caloundra Cricket Club - Roy Henzell Oval & Jack Beausang Oval- Lewis St, Caloundra As all games are to be played on turf pitches, players must wear spikes.
