NOTICE OF RACE C SCOW NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP 2018 JUNE 14 17, 2018 DELAVAN LAKE YACHT CLUB Venue: Delavan Lake Yacht Club 1501 Cedar Point Drive Eligibility: The regatta is open to Class C Scows. Each boat MUST be covered by a Regular Boat Membership (or Junior Boat Membership for Juniors). You can join NCSSA via the NCSSA website (www.cscow.org). You must do this prior to checking in at registration. Someone from NCSSA will be checking your status at registration. You will not be scored unless the proper NCSSA membership is in place. Registration: The registration fee includes light breakfast items, two lunches on Friday through Sunday, and two dinners for Saturday. Extra lunches and dinners are available. We ask that you pre-order as many of the extra lunches and Saturday dinners as possible so that we have a sufficient supply. Fees: Racing Fees: $200 if postmarked by May 31 st $225 after May 31 st Junior skippers age 25 and under as of June 15, 2018 will have their entry fee waived provided they are NCSSA members. However, this entry fee waiver does not include lunches and dinners. Juniors should consider ordering lunches and dinners prior to May 31 st to get the discounted price. Please bring a sufficient size anchor as well as 15-20 feet of line and a buoy for a seaweed and rocky bottom in this bay. Shuttle boats will be available. No boats may be dry sailed from the DLYC, excepts those on lifts at the DLYC. Boats may be dry sailed on lifts or trailers kept at locations other than the DLYC. Trailer Parking: After launching your boat, please follow signage to designated area for empty trailer parking. Rules: The sailing instructions will consist of the instructions in RRS Appendix S, Standard Sailing Instructions, and supplementary sailing instructions that will be published and be posted on the official notice board located at the club. Racing Area: The racing will be on the water of Delavan Lake. Radio Communication: Flags will be the primary means of communication on the water; however, the Race Committee will attempt to make VHF radio contact regarding OCS, weather issues, safety concerns, and other actions of the RC where clarification might be helpful to the competitors. The competitor channel will be posted. Spectator Boats: Spectator boats are available on a limited basis. Your best chance is to make yourself available on one of the DLYC piers at least 30 minutes prior to racing. Race numbers and their associated trophies will be assigned by mutual consent of the RC and the Fleet representative. Trophies will be awarded to the skipper and 1 st crew finishing 1 st thru 10 th, top Master, top Junior and top Female Skipper. Media: Competitors give absolute right and permission for video footage or photographs of themselves or their boat generated during any racing or at any event at the DLYC for the regatta to be published in any media for press, editorial or advertising purposes.
