1. What is the Extreme Sailing Series? Elite Level Stadium Racing Launched in 2007 as a European circuit, in 2011 the Extreme Sailing Series went global and since then has taken its innovative Stadium Style racing to both traditional sailing nations as well as the new emerging countries that are rapidly developing sailing talent. It now occupies a unique position in the sailing world as the only annual and global elite level sailing series of its kind. It s a sport, helming state-of-the-art multihulls on very demanding courses with the most respected skippers lining up to do just that, competing so fiercely that heart-stopping close encounters always feature on the menu. It s also a spectacle, and the public has full access to the action from the shore in carefully chosen stadium venues, combining challenging sailing conditions and spectator-friendly configurations. It s a VIP experience, and Guest Sailor positions are available onboard, where a VIP guest can actually join the crews durring a race. Not willing to compromise, the Series organisers OC Sport has created a formula where serious competition and spectacle go hand in hand.

Why get involved? - It is an opportunity of a lifetime! - Volunteers are important and valuable to us and you will be assisting us to run the Extreme Sailing Series across the Globe. - Volunteers are integral to the success of the Series - You will be the public face of the event and ambassadors of the Extreme Sailing Series. - You will work alongside our experienced and dynamic team, who will help you to learn and develop new skills. - OC Sport is an established and internationally known sports marketing and events company. You will have opportunities to network and develop your future opportunties. - You will gain valuable experience for your resume. - You will meet many of the best sailors in the world -... and you will HAVE FUN, make new friends and be part of a great TEAM EXPERIENCE! 2. Why get involved? Benefits: - Extreme Sailing Series branded Marinepool t-shirt - Extreme Sailing Series branded Marinepool caps - Invitations to our private events (with the sailing teams) including *Welcome party *Barbecue during the event *End of event party Official certificate of participation often required by universities/schools - You will be provided with lunches during the event
3. What are the volunteer roles? Below is an indication of the different roles that could be assigned to volunteers. Please note, roles will be allocated on site to suit previous experience and interests. Media Centre: Welcoming and assisting with the accreditation process for national and international media in the official Media Centre. Responsible for the general look and cleanliness of the media centre. Assist the OC Sport media team when requested e.g translations, office duties Changing room: You will be in direct contact with guests and responsible for ensuring all Guest Sailors recieve the correct kit including lifejackets and helmets. Ensuring every Guest Sailor signs the required disclaimer forms. On-water: You will be based on the committee boat to assist the Race Director and the driver. THE SCHEDULE: Race Village: Roles within the Race Village include guiding visiting and being a source of information, looking after defined areas (Bouncy Castle, other childrens games etc), motivating people, conducting surveys etc. Pontoon: Help the Guest Sailor manager on the pontoon to coordinate and manage guests. You are a part of the guests experience and expected to assist them to ensure their comfort and answers any questions. If you are the right person and strongly motivated will be work with you to find a schedule that works for both parties. We will aim to communicate the confirmed timings at least two weeks before the event (Please be aware that these may change).

To some of the volunteers, it was an eye-opening experience working with a big organisation, a non-local one, and not to mention a big event such as the Extreme Sailing Series. Personally, I do feel you have managed us well and the amount of trust you put on me and the team, it s just amazing. I appreciate it a lot. I have been a 10-day volunteer for the Extreme Sailing Series, and this is really a very unforgettable experience for me. During this volunteer experience I learnt a lot for example the meaning of team work and how to work in a team. I really appreciate that Extreme Sailing Sereis can give this kind of precious opportunity to me to let myself grow in a big family. What I really want to say is Thank You!
