Blue Ribbon Committee 2017 Chairman Carol Kilian Tournament History For nearly two decades, the Michelob Ultra A Swing for Success has been the can t-miss charity golf event in the Volusia / Flagler area and annually attracts close to 300 participants, 14 restaurants, and countless benefactors that generously give back to those less fortunate in our community. From its humble beginnings of 48 golfers and a nominal donation of $2,000 in the fall of 1998, it has grown into a premier event as the Monday After Charity Tournament of the LPGA s Symetra Tour Championship. Thanks to the generosity of our community, we have provided over $2,000,000 to the Boys & Girls Clubs to date. The mission of the Symetra Tour is to prepare the world s best young women professional golfers for a successful career on the LPGA Tour. Each year, the Top 10 on the season s final money list are awarded their LPGA Tour Cards upon conclusion of the Symetra Tour Championship. OF VOLUSIA/FLAGLER COUNTIES The Cause In 2012, the Symetra Tour partnered with the Boys & Girls Clubs and the Michelob Ultra A Swing for Success as the official beneficiary of the season-ending Tour Championship event. Our goal is to continue to raise needed operational revenue to assure our children and parents who need us most can continue to count on the services provided by the Boys & Girls Clubs. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Volusia/Flagler have served our community for 25 years, providing a safe place for children to learn and grow, create positive relationships with caring adult professionals, experience life-enhancing programs and provide hope and opportunity. Thanks to the generosity of our community, this year we will continue to add to the $2,000,000 mark in funds provided to the Boys & Girls Clubs in our community.
