K3 is the blocking back between the snapper and the punter K1. The ball is snapped to K3 who throws a backward pass to K1 who punts the ball. If K1 is contacted before he has had a chance to regain his balance or participate in the play, is he afforded the same kicker protection as if the ball had been directly snapped to him? 4 Left tackle A1 contacts the knees of linebacker B1 who was in the free blocking zone and on the LOS at the snap while center A2 pushes B1 in the chest. The blocks occur simultaneously with A1 s block occurring first. The R puts the ball in play and A is getting ready to snap it when A s head coach calls a time out to discuss the timing error. K1 kicks the ball. R1 at his 45 signals for a fair catch. The BJ sees K5 charging towards R1. As soon as R1 touches the ball, the BJ blows his whistle. Unfortunately, R1 muffs the catch. A1 fumbles while being tackled. B1 recovers and runs for a 50 K1 kicks off from his 40. The kick goes out of bounds at R s 15 untouched by R. R s coach indicates he wants the ball at R s 35. 51 4th & 17 from the K13. K1's punt is high and short hitting the ground on the K23. Then, R2 gives a fair-catch signal. R2 tries to recover the loose ball but muffs it and the ball rolls into K's end zone where R3 fall on it. Result? 52 4th & 5 from the K30. R1 muffs K's punt at the R25. While the ball is loose, K3 uses his shoulder to block R4 in the back above the waist at the R30 while attempting to reach the ball. R4 recovers the ball on the R35 while grounded. Result?

53 4th & 10 on the K20. R1 gives a valid fair catch signal at the R40. R1 muffs the kick and it falls to the ground. While the ball is loose, R1 blocks K8 in the back above the waist at the R40. R2 recovers the ball at the R45. Result? 54 4th & 10 on the K20. R2 AND R3 give valid fair catch signals. R2 muffs the kick and the ball ricochets toward R3. As R3 is about to catch the ball he is tackled by K4. The ball is recovered by K5 at the 50yd line. Result? 55 4th and 3 at the R22. K1's FG attempt is good, but while the ball is live, R1 is flagged for a personal foul facemask at the R11. Result? 56 4th & 9 on the R38. K1's punt is high toward a goalline pylon. R1 gives a fair catch signal, but vacates the area where the ball is heading. K2, with no R player within 10 yards makes the catch at the 2 yard line. Result? 57 A11 has a hard cast, proper padding has been added by the trainer, the head coach does not have a doctors note, A11 mother gives permission for A11 to participate in game. a.
