The exhaust pipes are protected against water to come into the engines. Also an alarm sensor is fitted to measure to high temperatures, according regulations. HULL CONSTRUCTION The FRSQ 1200 A FRDC has a fully welded hull strengthened by profiles and plates in marine grade aluminum. The hull has been additionally stiffened by a system of longitudinal and transversal frames creating a system of bulkheads. The outer hull has four spray rails running in the whole length thereby allowing a faster plane as well as improved speed and maneuverability. The keel is made of a special aluminum profile which adds extra strength to the hull construction and added protection against impacts and pounding during sailing. WORKING DECK The working deck is self-bailing through the side of the boat. Two bollards are fitted on the aft deck of the boat. The complete deck is painted with anti-skid type deck paint. STRUCTURE The superstructure, built in marine grade aluminium is welded to the deck and with sufficient buoyancy to make the boat self-righting. All windows are heavy duty and highly resistant to rough working environments and with the front three windows equipped with wipers and a fresh water system. The rear entrance door is of a watertight construction and placed at the center aft. The console is placed in front of the captain on the starboard side with the navigator on port side. All engine instruments are placed in front of the coxswain s ergonomically for easy viewing and operation. WHEELHOUSE The main cabin provides seating for 6, and 3 of them are positioned on shock absorbing high quality seats with arm rests. Stretchers can be placed either on the floor or put on top of the seats for the survivors. The seats for the survivors can also be used as two bunks. Under the seats there is storage place for equipment. Access to front cabin is via opening from the wheelhouse or by the front hatch equipped with a window. Lighting in the cabin is from LED type. 3
