Guiding Principles & Contest Rules Each of the events will follow the Texas 4-H shooting sports rules for the respective discipline except as noted below. The focus of these events is to provide 4-H members involved in shooting sports in District 12 with an opportunity beyond what may be available in their county. Smallbore Rifle Match 1. Texas 4-H Smallbore 3-Position Rifle Rules will be followed except as noted in these contest rules. 2. All entries must be submitted through 4-H Connect by a supervising volunteer within the Registration Period (October 1 through December 15). 3. All record scores must be done under the supervision of a certified coach on a single date and time specified by the supervising coach within the Match Period (February 1 through April 1). 4. Targets will be provided to every registered team and participant with a code unique to one individual and related shooting positions. Codes should not be changed or altered at risk of disqualifying the target or group of targets. Targets will be USA 50 standard targets (10 record bulls and two sighters surrounded by a ring). 5. Seniors and Intermediate age classes will shoot 10 record shots (1 target) in each of the three positions: standing, kneeling, prone. 6. Junior age classes will shoot three rounds of 10 record shots in the prone position. 7. Distance from the firing line to the target must be 50 feet. 8. All targets must be returned to the District office, postmarked by April 2, 2011. Archery Match 1. Texas 4-H Archery Rules will be followed expect as noted in these contest rules. FITA Indoor rules will be used to structure this event. 2. All entries must be submitted through 4-H Connect by a supervising volunteer within the Registration Period (October 1 through December 15). 3. All record scores must be done under the supervision of a certified coach on a single date and time specified by the supervising coach within the Match Period (February 1 through April 1). 4. Targets will not be provided. Participants are required to secure and use the appropriate target for the match as follows: Recurve & Barebow use 60cm 10-ring 5-color targets; Compound use 40cm 10-ring 5-color target. 5. FITA Indoor rounds will consist of 10 ends of 3 arrows each at 18 meters. The 9 meter round will be used for 1st Year Juniors. 6. Senior compound archers only will use the inner 10, for scoring purposes. 7. Compound Aided versus Unaided. Compound is considered Aided if the archer uses a magnified site and/or a release. 8. Scores and scoring instructions provided will be considered part of the rules governing this event. 9. All scores must be posted online (http://d124-h.tamu.edu/events/shooting-sports/) by April 2, 2011. 10. All scorecards with appropriate signatures must be returned to the District office, postmarked by April 2, 2011.
Scoring Instructions Smallbore Rifle Match Targets & Scoring 1. Scoring will follow the Texas 4-H Smallbore 3-Position Rifle Rules standards. 2. All targets will be scored by a committee of trained scoring judges. 3. The following is a sample of the targets that will be used for record. 4. Do not replace or substitute targets. You must use the targets shipped. 5. All targets should be returned to the district office postmarked by April 2, 2011. Coaches and leaders must use the Texas 4-H Archery Rules (FITA Indoor) to score each archer s targets. 2. Senior compound archers only will use the inner 10, for scoring purposes. 3. Official scorecards provided must be used to record official scores. 4. Each scorecard must have at least two signatures, the archer and coach. 5. Any changes in Division or Classification should be noted on the official scorecard. 6. The scorecard must be filled out completely with all record scores, including total 10 s and 9 s. 7. Scorecards must be used to record scores and posted by the responsible coach leader online at http://d124-h.tamu.edu/events/shooting-sports/ by April 2, 2011. 8. All official scorecards must be mailed to the district office postmarked by April 2, 2011. Registration Instructions - ARCHERY Archery 1. Login to your family profile. 2. Select your name from the box below the Member/Volunteer List at the bottom of the page. You must be a registered/approved adult volunteer with an Active status to register your archers. 3. Select the event D12 4. A box will appear that includes three different types of registration with worksheets to assist you in preparing registrations for each member. When you are ready, you can click on Register. 5. Complete all the information requested as illustrated below for each archer. 6. You will have three choices at the bottom of your screen: Save and Add New Entry - to add additional entries; Continue - to proceed to checkout, and Delete - to delete this entry and go back to Member List. 7. You can repeat this process for as many entries as you need to make by selecting Save and Add New Entry. Once you have entered all members, you can select Continue to review and pay for your entries. 8. If you have entered multiple individuals, remember that it will not list their names on the summary in your Cart so keep a list of those you have already entered. If you select Edit then you can view/ revise any of the entries you have already entered. 9. Finalize your entry by verifying your Cart, and make payment on your entries.
