Wasps community works with boys, girls, local schools, rugby clubs, Premiership Rugby and other organisations throughout the Midlands all year round. Our mission is to to provide Opportunity, Inspiration and Aspiration for young people through a range of programmes of which rugby is just one part. Our camps, therefore, sit proudly as our one of our core rugby programmes which caters for those wishing to try rugby for the first time to those who play to high community level and wish to develop their skills and game play. With the core values of rugby Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship at the heart of everything Wasps Community do, the rugby camps will be an experience not to miss! At Wasps we recognise the importance of our Community Programmes and the responsibility that we have as professional players and staff to be positive role models and ambassadors for our sport and our club. We are delighted that our projects reach so many young people and adults from all backgrounds in our community. It is important that we continue to generate new interest in rugby participation and sustainable support for Wasps. Wasps is a player development programme designed to challenge both the tactical and technical skills of a young rugby player. Our player centred sessions are active, purposeful, enjoyable and safe for the participants regardless of their age or rugby experience. We work on developing the exciting skills that make entertaining players so if you want to play rugby the Wasps Way come along to one of our camps. WHAT IS IT? 5 day Train like a pro experience! Have your rugby skills challenged and developed by some of our best coaches over the course of five days, and test yourself with a full programme based on a professional players training week. There will be lots of different activities to complement your rugby skills and really develop you as the total rugby player. A thoroughly enjoyable and rewarding experience that will not leave you disappointed. This course is designed to get the best out of you as players and people. You will learn all the latest techniques and skills from the very cutting edge of the game. We will meet for Breakfast at the Ricoh Arena on the 15th August, where we will run through the final plans for the week, before heading off to Welbeck College. Transport is provided to and from the Ricoh Arena. WHEN IS IT? August 15 th 19 th 2016 WHERE IS IT? Welbeck Defence College, situated on a 36 acre site in Charnwood Forest near Loughborough. Welbeck is owned by the Ministry of Defence and has start of the art Sports Facilities, modern spacious accommodation and excellent catering. Through Land Rover s We Deal In Real campaign, Land Rover is continuing to support and triumph local clubs through a number of platforms and initiatives. The 2015/16 season at Wasps has seen Land Rover launch their search for deserving match-day mascots. In a joint initiative with Wasps, Land Rover have asked coaches at local clubs to nominate players aged between seven and fourteen years of age to be Wasps match-day mascots, explaining what their We Deal In Real credentials are to be entitled to this privilege. The successful mascots are provided with a truly memorable match-day experience, that will live long in the memory. Wasps captain James Haskell commented: This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for youngsters to be at the very heart of professional rugby and share a special moment with the Wasps team. It s always a great honour to walk out onto the pitch representing your rugby club, so it will be a fantastic experience for the mascots selected and for the Wasps players. The successful mascots have been given their own profile by Land Rover in the Wasps match-day programme, to make the event even more special for them.
