Volumn 11, Issue 3 March 2017 President s Message Dear ODA Friends, An Affiliated Chapter of Society of Decorative Painters www.osceoladecorativeartists.com Here it is March already. Didn t we have fun at Pam s class last month? The piece we did was different for me; I ve never penciled on vellum before and it was a whole new mindset. I hope you all enjoyed this new experience. Seminar is coming up and what could be better than learning some new and advanced techniques from a travel teacher! A nice thing about having seminars is that the teacher comes to you. You don t have to travel long distances to learn from someone you wouldn t normally have the chance to see. I am really looking forward to doing the projects we ve chosen. It should be a great learning experience. We will not be having a formal meeting in March because of the seminar, so if we have business to discuss, we will do it over lunch. If you have any thoughts, reminders, or questions, please do not hesitate to email me. I m always here. Don t forget to get your artistic and creative juices into high gear for the April Art Show in Kissimmee. It s a wonderful opportunity that Osceola Arts offers us, to be able to show what we do and actually be able to sell some of our art in their show. And it s always so much fun to man the booth and chat with our fellow members who are working with us in the booth. Barbara will have more information elsewhere in this newsletter I am traveling to Creative Painting in Las Vegas and will be returning, most likely, after you receive this newsletter. I hope to bring in some of the pieces I did while there. Three of them are colored pencil pieces taught by none other than our March seminar teacher, Mark Menendez! I can hardly wait! So, ladies, I hope you have had a wonderful month and I am looking forward to seeing you all at the March seminar. Until then, Mary March 2017 Page 1
