Worldwide Accident Data According to The World Health Organization (WHO) proximately 1.3 llion people are killed in road ccidents each year. Road accidents are amon ng the top three causes of death for people ranging between ages 5 to 44 years old. The economic consequences o these road accidents accou for between 1% 3% of each country's GDP.

Data on Accidents in Africa According to The African Union (AU) e number of people killed each year on road in Africa is estimated at 322 000 people and ould reach 540 000 by 2020 if nothing is done. Africa, which accounts for 12% of the world's population and only 2% of the global utomobile fleet, accounts for 24.1% of all road fatalities in 2016.

Data on Ac ccidents in Côte d Ivoire Approximately 40% of national deaths are pedestrians, half of whom are children. 94% of accidents are caused by factors attributed to human factors and are characterized in particular by the carelessness of drivers, lack of control, dangerous parking and excess of speed.

Conclusion et Recommandations roximately 3 out of 4 accidents in Côte oire occur in Abidjan, accounting for 42% ll national deaths. The need to act urgently on training, education and awareness of the populations with strict application of the regulations in force Importance of adopting a systemic and participatory approach for optimal management of the road safety system by paying equal attention to the 5 pillars of the action plan
