You will be required to present a completed waiver form when purchasing nomination tickets, and each competitor/handler will be given a wristband to wear for the duration of the competition. A waiver form is included in the schedule. MURWILLUMBAH SHOW BIO SECURITY 2013 All horse competitors must complete a Horse Health Declaration form before any horse can compete at the 2013 Murwillumbah Show. Forms must be signed on the day of entry and handed in with all waiver forms. HELMETS & FOOTWEAR Approved safety helmets must be worn by all mounted riders under the age of 18 yrs. All Sporting Event and Show Jumping competitors (of any age) must also wear a correctly fitted, approved safety helmet when mounted. All competitors and handlers (including fancy dress and Grand Parade) must wear covered footwear when in the main arena. BOARD OF TICK CONTROL NOTICE: All competitors coming from QLD are to make own arrangements to comply with the Board of Tick Control. PH 07 5536 4714 (Kirra Livestock Treatment facility) If required by law at the time of this event, copies of all applicable travel documentation as may be in force at the time MUST be completed and made available to the Secretary before horses will be permitted to enter the Showground. If Travel Documentation is required at the time of the Show, there 4 will be someone on the gate to collect and verify such paperwork.

GENERAL REGULATIONS APPLY TO THE HORSE SECTION. 1. Ages of all horses to be computed from the 1 August. 2. Horses must be free from hereditary unsoundness in all classes except Show Jumping. 3. Horses will parade on the day and at the time the ring stewards direct. 4. Grooms, Competitors, and others in charge of exhibits must obey the orders of the Stewards or they will be fined and/or ejected from the grounds. 5. Stallions may only compete in Stallion Classes, except in jumping and Western Performance Classes A&H. 6. Brood Mares to be shown in Brood Mare Classes only, but eligible for Championships. 7. Competitors enter ring events at their own risk. 8. Competitors are responsible for being in attendance at the events in which they wish to enter - if they do not present for that event judging will proceed in their absence. 9. Entries are to be made at the Nominations Office on the actual day of competition by the purchase of competitor s ticket. This ticket must be presented to the ring steward prior to the judging of each event. Any competitor in any section of the ring who does not have a competitor s ticket will be asked to leave the ring. 10. Whilst every effort will be made to follow the program, the Ringmaster reserves the right to alter the event schedule. 11. The Society reserves the right to measure horses: Pony 14hh & under, Galloway over 14hh & not exceeding 15hh. Hack over 15hh. 12. All memberships must be current. All horses must be Registered with their individual breed Societies or have foal recording papers and all exhibitors must be current financial members of those Societies- Registration cards to be produced to Ring Steward on demand. 13. All Perpetual Trophies will be retained by the Society. 14. STABLING Stables may be booked online using www.nominate.com.au/stables. Payment must accompany bookings. No phone bookings allowed. 15. Stable charges are: Open Yards - $5.50 per night or $11.00 for the duration of the Show (Thur 31 Oct/Fri 1 Nov/Sat 2 Nov 2013) Covered Yards and Stables - $11.00 per night or $22.00 for the duration of the Show. 16. Each stable/yard will be locked and key must be collected from office on arrival. A key deposit of $10.00 per stable/yard is required to be paid on collection of the key. Keys may be returned immediately after opening stable, or upon departure. Arrangement must be made with the office for key return if outside office hours. Phone the Secretary to arrange 02 6672 5507. 17. Bedding will not be provided. 18. All stables to be cleaned and bedding removed by departure time. Stable key is to be returned to receive $10.00 deposit per stable will be refunded on return of the key. 19. Those who need stallion boxes for the day MUST book them as per any other exhibitor. 20. Stables are booked on a 24 hour basis 6:30am to 6:30am. Stables/yards must be vacated by 6:30am on the day of departure if not booked for that day. 21. Bedding and manure is to be deposited at designated manure collection points. 22. Refunds - Because many of our stables are ordered for competitors in advance stabling fees will not be refunded if the stabling is cancelled. 23. No portable yards are allowed. The erection of electric fences is NOT permitted in camping or livestock areas of the showground. 24. CAMPING- A limited number of camping sites will be available at a cost of $11.00 per night per site, or $22.00 for the duration of the Show i.e. Thursday, Friday and/or Saturday nights. A fee of $17.00 per site per night will be payable for any stay before the 31st October 2013 or after 2 Nov 2013. Camping is to be booked online through nominate.com.au/stables. All electrical leads to be currently tested and tagged. All electrical leads must be off the ground. NOTICE FROM THE RINGMASTER regarding the GRAND PARADE All competitors are EXPECTED to take part in the Grand Parade A condition of entry in any Saturday horse event is that ALL SATURDAY PRIZE WINNERS MUST PARADE THEIR PRIZE-WINNING EXHIBIT IN THE GRAND PARADE If any competitor has more than one (1) prize-winning horse, only one (1) need be paraded PRIZE MONEY WILL NOT BE PAID TO PRIZE-WINNERS WHO DO NOT PARADE A Ticket will be issued to each exhibitor parading NO PARADE TICKET - NO PRIZE MONEY - NO EXCEPTIONS 5

SPECIAL REGULATIONS 1. Where there is no competition in any section it will rest with the judge to decide whether exhibits are worthy to receive a prize. 2. In order to receive Saturday Prize money Competitors are requested to enter the Grand Parade. The Grand Parade is the highlight of the Show. The Society understands that it may be difficult but would appreciate all competitors participation. Note: Prizemoney for Saturday will only be paid to competitors who participate in the Grand Parade. 3. Declarations to be signed by competitors if called upon as to the correctness of their entries. 4. The Ring Events shall be in the hands of the Ringmaster and, if in his opinion the condition of the ground as a result of rain makes it advisable not to conduct all or any of the ring events because of danger to competitors, he shall convene a meeting, comprising the President, Deputy Ringmaster and himself and a majority decision of this sub-committee shall be final. Entry fees paid by competitors for any events subsequently cancelled shall be refunded and the committee does not indemnify competitors in any way for events so cancelled. 5. 5A - In DISTRICT EVENTS entries are limited to exhibits owned and domiciled within Group 1 for at least three months prior to entries closing and if required by the Stewards a declaration to that effect must be signed by any competitor. 5B - In TWEED SHIRE EVENTS entries are limited to exhibits owned & domiciled within the Tweed Shire for at least 3 months prior to entries closing and if required by the Stewards a declaration to that effect must be signed by any competitor. 6. Riders may ride no more than one (1) horse in any one (1) class. This regulation may be waived in Championships at the discretion of the Ringmaster. 7. All Colts and Stallions, irrespective of breed or age, must be shown in a halter equipped with a restraining chain or bit. 8. Stallions are not permitted to be ridden or led by a person under 16 yrs of age. 9. NO ALCOHOL is permitted outside the Branding Rail Area. 10. Contestants, their connections and stewards may protest. The only grounds for protest are eligibility and conduct of competitors. Judges decisions will be final and not subject to protest. PROTESTS MUST BE MADE IN WRITING AND LODGED WITH THE SECRETARY WITHIN 15 MINUTES OF COMPLETION OF JUDGING OF THE DISPUTED EVENT: protests must be accompanied by a fee of $50, refundable if the protest is upheld. 11. All dogs brought on to the ground MUST BE ON A LEAD AND UNDER STRICT CONTROL and will be the responsibility of the owner. 12. MAIDEN CLASSES are open to horses which have not won that particular event at an Agricultural Show. 13. NOVICE CLASSES are open to exhibits which have not won Champion or an Open Class at an Agricultural Show or 1st or 2 nd at a Royal Show. 14. PROGRESSIVE horse is a horse that has not won Champion Novice at an Agricultural Show. 15. Riders in HUNTER CLASSES must wear Tweed Jacket and horses must have plain browbands. 16. Approved safety helmets must be worn by all mounted riders under the age of 18 years. All Sporting Event and Show Jumping competitors (of any age) must also wear a correctly fitted, approved safety helmet when mounted. 17. All competitors and handlers must wear appropriate covered footwear when in the main arena. This includes the Grand Parade and Fancy Dress event. 18. ABUSIVE BEHAVIOUR TOWARDS JUDGES OR OFFICIALS WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. OFFENDERS WILL BE ORDERD FROM THE GROUND AND BANNED FROM THIS SHOW FOR A PERIOD OF TWO (2) YEARS. 19. ELECTRIC FENCE YARDS will be banned on the Main Parking area from 6am to 8pm Friday & Saturday. If erected (outside these hours) all electric fence yards must have appropriate signage displayed. 20. All prize money includes GST. 21. Drug testing may be carried out at this Show. Any competitor found to have breached the ASC Disputes and Disciplinary regulations will be investigated by the ASC Disciplinary Committee. It is the responsibility of each exhibitor to ensure that the leaders of their stock in judging rings and parades or elsewhere on the ground, are capable of exercising control over animals in their care. The stewards reserve the right to have any animal removed from the judging ring, main arena or other areas, if in their opinion, such animal is classed as dangerous, intractable or is disadvantaging other exhibits. 6. All first prize animals shall compete for Champion. If doubts arise in the mind of the judge In any class, the matter will be referred to the Chief Steward for consideration. 7. A Heifer is considered a Female animal which has not had a calf and is not over 3 years of age. 8. No drug, hormone or tranquiliser shall be administered to any animal exhibit except under the direction of the Society s Veterinary Surgeon who shall advise the Senior Steward if, in their opinion, such drug, hormone or tranquilliser is likely to have any effect upon the animal which would be material to its chances of being awarded a prize and in such case the Stewards may debar the animal at any time from competing. Senior Stewards may at any time direct the Society s Veterinary Surgeon to take a sample of blood, saliva or urine from an exhibit for testing. 9. Exhibitors Note: Calves may be paraded with their mother, provided the cow is lactating and the calf is under 8 months. Calf can t be shown on Its own in under 12 months class, or vice versa. 10. All cattle must be available for inspections to the person nominated by the Society at any time. 11. The Society will not hold itself responsible for any loss or misdelivery of livestock or other exhibits at the Show or any damage thereto. 12. SPECIAL REGULATIONS 1. All cattle to be on the ground by 9.00am ready to commence judging and remain until after the Grand Parade which commences at 2.00pm. 2. Only first prize animals can compete for champion. The animal placed second in the class of the animal placed champion can compete for the award of Reserve Champion. 3. If doubts arise in the mind of the judge or judges in any class as to the classification of a competing animal, the matter will be referred to the Chief Steward for consideration. 4. In all classes, judges will be asked to allot second and third and fourth prize also where stated. 5. All exhibits must be the bona fide property of the exhibitor except where otherwise stated. All exhibits from a partnership must be the bona fide property of the firm exhibiting same and no animal owned by an individual member of the firm will be eligible for a prize unless exhibited in his own name. 6. The classification of all animals competing in this section shall be determined by the production of age certificates and the definition of a female, dry, shall be: females at least six months in calf and milked out. Last calving date to be supplied. 7. ENTRY FORMS MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL DETAIL AND PEDIGREES OF STOCK SUPPLIED OR ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. 8. All prize-winners must parade at such times as the Stewards may require. Neglect to do so renders the owner liable to forfeit his claim to any prizes won by that particular exhibit. This RULE WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED. 9. THE AGE OF THE CATTLE SHALL BE THE ACTUAL AGE UP TO 1ST JULY. 10. All exhibits in Pen or Group Classes must have been entered in a single class. 11. A HEIFER is a female never having had a calf. 12. All cattle must be made available for inspection to persons nominated by the Society at any time. 13. All Australian Illawarra Shorthorns, Holstein-Friesians, Jersey, Guernsey and Ayrshires must be registered in the Herd Book before being entered in the show and the Herd Book Number listed on the entry form. In the case where no number is fixed, proof of acceptance of the Herd Book must be produced when making entries. 14. The Society will not under any circumstances hold itself responsible for any loss or misdelivery of livestock or other exhibits at the Society s exhibition or any damage thereto. 15. All persons leading exhibits in the judging ring must be suitably attired, preferably in dustcoats. 16. BANANAS To be judged Thursday 31st October 2013 Judges: Greg Bradshaw and Wayne McFee Stewards: Members of the Tweed Brunswick Banana Growers Association Note: Entries must be in the Pavilion by 9.30am sharp on Thursday 31st October. Stewards will receive exhibits from 8.00am. Unsuccessful carton and bunch entries remain the property of the exhibitor and may be collected between 6.00pm and 6.30pm on Saturday 2nd November. Any fruit not collected by 6.30pm will be sold by the stewards and the proceeds donated to charity. Rules Governing Exhibits in Banana Section: 1. Prizes indicated in the schedule are offered in good faith, however the Association reserves the right to change prizes to another of equal value without notice. 2. Entries may only compete in 1 section 3. Exhibitors must present all entries to stewards for attachment of class tickets 4. Cavendish Cartons must weigh between 14kg & 15kg gross including lids. Packed clusters or hands. 5. Lady Finger cartons must weigh between 13kg & 14kg for 12kg carton or between 9kg and 9.5kg for 8kg carton gross including lids. Packed clusters or hands. 6. No Grower or Agents identification marks to be shown on cartons. 7. Bunch stalk lengths - minimum 200mm max. 350mm. Stalk lengths below bottom hand to be judges discretion if freshly cut. 8. Exhibits in the banana section will be judged on quality, maturity, weight, conformation and blemish, at judges discretion for bunches with addition for packing and grading for cartons. 9. All sprung, ripe or split fruit must be removed from bunches before entry will be accepted. 10.Ripe or sprung fruit in cartons or hands on entry will be disqualified. 11.All fruit to be washed, cleaned, with black dead flowers removed and free from chemicals, before leaving your property. 40

REGULATIONS AND CONDITIONS PAVILION SECTIONS Chief Steward : Judy Monement 1. All exhibits MUST remain on display in the exhibition until 7.30pm Saturday, when they may be removed under supervision of the STEWARD. 2. Pavilion Exhibits may be collected on the final day of the Show at 7.30pm or collected from the Pavilion Chief Stewards Office on Sunday 3rd November between 9.00am and 12.00 noon. The Show Society is unable to hold work after this time 3. Access to the Pavilion will be available between 9.00am and 12.00 noon on the morning following completion of the Show. 4. ALL ENTRIES CLOSE with the Secretary on Monday 21st October with the exception of Horticulture, which closes 9.00am Friday 1st November. 5. Cakes NOT to be iced unless otherwise stated. NO GLASS PLATES PLEASE. RECIPE* LAZY DAISY CAKE Ingredients: 125g butter, 125g sugar, ½ cup milk, 2 eggs, 1 1/3 cup S.R. Flour, ½ pkt jelly crystals (red/green) ½ teaspoon vanilla, pinch of salt Method: Combine all ingredients in mixing bowl and stir until well blended. Beat for 3 minutes on medium speed in an electric mixer. Bake in a greased and lined bar tin. Bake in moderate oven for 30-40 minutes. Ice when cool and decorate with jelly bean daisies on top at each end of the cake only. RECIPE** LEMON CAKE Ingredients: 1 cup castor sugar, 125g butter, 2 eggs, 1 cup milk,1 rounded tablespoon cornflour, 1 cup S.R. Flour, 1 tablespoon lemon rind Method: Sift flour and cornflour together. Add sugar and lemon rind. Stir in softened butter, lightly beaten eggs and milk. Beat well for five minutes. Spoon Mixture into greased 20cm round tin with greased greaseproof paper on the base. Bake in moderate oven approx. 40 minutes. Ice when cool on top only with lemon icing. 52
