The South Downs Harness Club was formed in 1978 to: Encourage the driving of horses and ponies as a sport and recreation Promote good friendship amongst members Improve and maintain the standard of driving and horsemanship We pride ourselves on being a grassroots club, welcoming and supporting new drivers or those thinking about learning to drive, to our events. We are also happy to challenge more experience drivers but always with an emphasis on friendship and support. Our events are held all year round, mainly in Hampshire and West Sussex and include both competitive and non-competitive activities: one-day-events, shows, inside-out, social drives, training and talks. The club is also committed to maintaining off road access, for our members and for future drivers. Most of our events are open to non-members however SDHC members benefit from reduced entry fees and access on Member only social drives. This year the club will be celebrating their 40th year Anniversary. Photos from the 2017 Show and Concours Drive, courtesy of LRG Photography.
