PREPARATION 1. Read this assembly manual BEFORE commencing assembly. 2. Carefully remove all the components and packaged hardware from the shipping boxes. 3. Unpack the contents of the large double box and confirm that you have received a complete package. The contents should include: (a) A main frame assembly with handlebars and headlight, battery and controller (b) A rear frame assembly with brake assembly and rear derailleur (c) Three wheels with fenders. The front wheel is a drive motor (d) A rear basket (e) A front basket, and a mounting bracket for the front basket (f) A seat and seat post assembly (g) A small cardboard box with hardware, pedals, a battery charger, front rack support and user s manual ASSEMBLY 1. Open the small plastic bag found in the small cardboard box (g) containing screws, washers and nuts. Group all similar nuts and bolts in preparation for assembly. 2. Prop the front frame assembly vertically and align the rear frame section perpendicular to it. Slide the rear assembly forward on the inside of the matching frame tubes on the front section and make sure that the four bolts already in place align with the slots on the rear frame section 3. Tighten all four bolts that hold the two frame sections together making sure that the rear is perpendicular to the front. 4. Unwrap and separate the wheels and fenders. The power cord for the motor passes through the centre of a rear wheel hub for shipping purposes only. Use caution when unpacking.

5. Install the drive side rear wheel (right hand side RHS). This axle nut should be fully tightened (40Nm). The right wheel and left hand wheel are NOT INTERCHANGABLE. Note that the drive side axle nut is a right hand thread. 6. Install the non-drive side wheel (left hand side LHS). DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN!! Be sure that the left axle nut is loose enough that the inside spacer is just barely free to spin by hand. Overtightening will side-load the bearings and cause premature wear and bearing failure. A clicking noise from the left wheel bearing is a symptom of overtightening. The non-drive side axle nut is NOT A RIGHT HAND THREAD. It is a left hand thread. 7. Install the front wheel and motor assembly making sure that the tabs on the thrust washers fit into the slots under the fork and that the rim is centered in the fork arch before tightening the axle nuts. 8. Install the front fender on the fork using the long bolt and nut assembly supplied in the hardware package and the pre-installed fender stay mounting screws. 9. Install the gooseneck and handlebar assembly using the headset cover found in the small parts box (g) to hide the headset. Brake levers, shifter and grips are pre-installed on the handlebar. 10. Complete the rear brake cable installation by passing the cable through the rear cable adjustment assembly and finally under the washer below the anchoring nut. Adjust clearance to inner and outer pads the inner pad is fixed. 11. Complete the front brake adjustment. Proper adjustment will permit the removal of the cable by unlatching the brake noodle. Proper alignment of the brake pads will be square to the rim and with 1mm clearance to the tire. 12. Complete the shifter cable installation by passing it through the rear derailleur adjustment assembly and finally under the derailleur cable anchoring nut. 13. Thread the chain through the derailleur and over the chainring and join using a bicycle chain breaker/riveting tool or a Quick Link (not provided). Note: Any good quality 6/7/8 speed chain is a suitable replacement. 14. Fender mounting: The fender mounting plates on the rear axle assembly are soft aluminum and can be bent easily. This means that they can easily be bent to correctly space and center the fender assemblies but also means that they may have been bent during shipping. Check and reposition as required. A soft rubber hammer applied carefully will not damage the paint.

Fender alignment: The fender mounting plates have two vertical slots for mounting the fender assemblies. The slots allow for ±5 degree tilt adjustments to easily install and match the rear fender positions. If the fenders are not matched for position or the reflectors seem too high loosen the mounting hardware and rotate the fenders to the correct orientation. Correct installation should result in a 12 degree upwards angle which provides ideal visibility to following traffic. 15. The seat tube is hinged to allow easy removal of the battery. The seat position can be adjusted slightly by sliding the seat backwards or forwards on the seat rails. Do NOT advance the seat to the most extreme forwards or backwards positions. This will both change the position of the rider over the pedals AND load the seat in a manner it is not designed for. In addition, an extreme forward position will limit angular adjustments A smaller rider can be better accommodated by reversing the gooseneck than by advancing the seat to an extreme forward position. A larger rider can be better accommodated by installing a gooseneck with a longer stem than by installing the seat in its extreme backwards position. 16. Rear Basket mounting: The factory welded basket mounting flanges and interfaces are occasionally an issue on the e-trike Li. They may be slightly misaligned and in some cases the mounting holes in the basket have been slotted horizontally so they will better line up. This is a minor issue will not affect the functionality. Use the four longest bolts in the fastening hardware package with 8 washers and four nylon locknuts. 17. Front basket mounting: The front basket and the front rack are mounted using the mounting bracket and hardware found in the small box (g). The front light mounts below the basket. 18. Install the pedals (L on the left side with a counter clockwise thread, R on the right with a regular clockwise thread). Install the chain guard using the preinstalled mounting screws. Install the white reflector on the front steering stem. Install wheel reflectors on all three wheels (red on the rear wheels, orange or white on the front wheel). Install cable crimps after trimming cables. Inflate the tires. The recommended tire pressure in marked on the tire sidewall. Adjust the brakes, the handlebar angle and the seat height. 19. Install the rear light: The rear light is battery operated to avoid the issues associated with long wire runs caused by vibration and corrosion. A battery operated rear light has been adopted by virtually all major e-bike manufacturers and has proven to be more dependable and easier to replace if necessary.

Drivetrain routing through rear derailleur V-Brake Assembly Note: For your own safety it is recommended that you bring the assembled tricycle to a competent bicycle mechanic for an inspection before using it.
