GENERAL RULES It is an express condition of the show that competitors will adhere to the rules & regulations. All competitors enter at their own risk. Northern Showcase and Harrogate Riding & Language Centre cannot be held responsible for, or entertain any claim for any injury, accident, theft or loss of any equine, property, competitor, spectator, animal or assistant whilst this show is taking place howsoever caused. It is a condition of entry that competitors agree to indemnify Northern Showcase and Harrogate Riding & Language Centre against any legal action for any incidents arising at the showground. It is recommended that all competitors hold a suitable third party public liability insurance policy. The organisers reserve the right to alter, cancel or amalgamate classes should entries/conditions dictate and can refuse entry to classes/showground without explanation. Any person seated on a horse must wear a current standard riding hat at all times with the chin strap fastened or sign a disclaimer. (Available at the entries office) It is advised that all equines carry an up to date equine passport. No refunds will be given under any circumstances. Child & Young Handler classes judged on handler so no substitutions of handler accepted for championships In-Hand judged on horse/pony. Smart dress for handlers. No substitution of horse or pony accepted in championships Jumping and ridden combinations cannot be substituted under any circumstances once in the Championship. Novice classed as horse/pony combination not to have won 25 2017 or previous. Bridle to suit combination Equitation classes snaffles only. No martingales, horse boots or spurs allowed. It is advised that all horses are correctly trimmed and/or shod for the conditions. Appropriate studs should be worn in accordance with the conditions. No horse/pony of under 4yrs will be allowed to compete in any ridden classes. Age for horse/pony & rider is as 1 st Jan unless stated differently in Affiliated classes. All stallions & colts should be suitably bitted and handled/ridden in the rings by persons 14yrs and over. No galloping on showground unless as part of a show in the ring. The judge s decision is final, any objections must be made in writing with a deposit of 25 within 15 minutes of the class ending. No person will complain directly to the judge. The deposit is refunded should the complaint be upheld. Any mis-use of crops, spurs or unsuitable language is not allowed anywhere on the showground. PA System: It is the owners/handlers/exhibitors responsibility to be on time for classes. Announcements to the stabling and car park areas are a management courtesy. Please ensure all dogs are kept on leads. Horses/ponies should be tied up correctly and not left unattended. All litter should be placed in the receptacles provided or taken home. TSR Showing Finals - This show is a qualifier for the 2018 TSR Showing Finals. Qualify and enter ANY of the Finals Central, East Anglia, North West, North East, South East, South, Wales & South West or Scottish. You Do Not have to be a TSR member to qualify or enter a final. The Rider/Handler qualifies and can enter any horse/pony in any number of Finals! TSR Riders Finals - 1st & 2nd riders qualify and will receive a qualification card in the ring. TSR In Hand Finals - The two highest placed Handlers with a TSR In Hand Card will qualify in any In Hand class. Handlers MUST have their cards signed in the ring by the judge/steward, cards are available FREE from the TSR website. BSHA Grass Roots & SHGB Riding Club Champs - With a TSR qualification card you can also enter the BSHA Grass Roots Champs in Sept at Addington Equestrian Centre - You do not have to be a BSHA member to qualify or enter the final. CHAPS In Hand and Open Ridden Qualifer Rulings:- "This show is affiliated to The Coloured Horse & Pony Society (UK). Affiliation No. Both owner and the rider/exhibitor need not be a member of CHAPS (UK) nor must the horse or pony be registered with CHAPS (UK) to compete. However in order to Qualify both Owner and Rider/Exhibitor need to be a current showing member and present their valid Qualifier card IN THE RING for signing by the judge. Members to apply in writing to CHAPS (UK) for appropriate qualifier card. This Show is a Qualifier for the 2018 CHAPS (UK) Championship Show. PLEASE ENSURE YOU HAVE YOUR 2018 QUALIFIER CARD WITH YOU. APPLICATIONS FOR THIS AVAIALBLE FROM EARLY AUGUST. The following classes are CHAPS (UK) Qualifiers [Show Secretary to insert class numbers]. For full rulings and information on competition/qualification, please refer to the CHAPS (UK) Members' Handbook; or visit www.chapsuk.com for rulings. All stallions, 4 years old and over entering these classes must be graded with CHAPS (UK). All stallions must wear Stallion ID Discs in the ring without exception. Winter Restricted Ridden Rulings:- BOTH THE OWNER AND THE RIDER OF ANY EXHIBIT NEED NOT BE FULLY PAID-UP MEMBERS OF CHAPS (UK) AT THE TIME OF COMPETITION, NOR MUST THE ANIMAL BE REGISTERED; BUT TO VALIDATE THE QUALIFICATION, BOTH MEMBERSHIP AND REGISTRATION MUST BE IN PLACE WITH CHAPS (UK) AT THE TIME OF ENTERING THE RELEVANT YEARS FINALS AND BOTH SECTIONS OF THE QUALIFIER CARD MUST BE RETURNED AS PER THE INSTRUCTIONS ON THE CARD. MEMBERSHIP/REGISTRATION FROM CHAPS (UK) ADMIN, 1 MCLAREN COTTAGES, ABERTYSSWG, RHYMNEY, TREDEGAR NP22 5BH. ALL STALLIONS MUST BE GRADED WITH CHAPS (UK) IN ORDER TO COMPETE IN THESE CLASSES. Exhibits not to have qualified for HOYS in the current and previous year in which the Finals will be held (e.g. for 2018 Finals the horse or pony must not have qualified for HOYS in either 2016 or 2017). The 2 highest placed from each height/type category may qualify. BSPS For Shows held on or after 1st January, 2018 - All Rules as per the 2018 B.S.P.S. Rule & Show Handbook. All ponies must be four years old or over. Ages for riders as per the B.S.P.S. Rule & Show Handbook except any new or amended rules as included in this schedule. Cards to be presented in the ring to ponies that qualify for the Restricted classes, these cards to be sent in with entries for the Winter Championships. The 1st, 2nd & 3rd prize-winners will qualify in the Novice Classes and Open First Pony of Show Pony or Show Hunter Pony Type Class and in the MIXED HEIGHT NOVICE CLASSES the 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th prize winners will qualify. In the Open Classes the three highest placed Restricted animals in each class will qualify, and in the MIXED HEIGHT OPEN CLASSES the four highest placed Restricted animals will qualify, (riders on Restricted animals MUST wear an armband). Animals must be registered before the date of the Show at which they qualify for the Winter Championships and must be ridden by B.S.P.S. Members, except in the case of exhibitors who have never been members before who are allowed 7 days in which to become members and register their ponies, TGCA In Hand and Ridden Classes Show Number TGCA These classes are qualifiers for the Best of Breed Finals at the Traditional Gypsy Cob Association's (TGCA) National Breed Championship Show TOYS, held annually in September. Full details can be obtained from www.tgca.co.uk. Classes are open to all traditional gypsy cobs. Stallions All stallions (four years and over) in order to enter any TGCA affiliated class, must be licensed with the TGCA prior to the show AND have their TGCA stallion disc displayed on their bridle. Existing TGCA members must present their qualification card to the judge in the ring for signature. Non members will receive a qualification card from the judge and will have 21 days to join the TGCA and to register their horse in order to validate this. TOYS Qualifications will be awarded to the top three youngstock, small senior IH, large senior IH, small ridden, large ridden and to the highest placed junior and restricted exhibitor. Quest Show The 1st, 2nd and 3rd from the TGCA classes may go forward to the Quest for a Star Championship, provided they are current TGCA members and the horse is registered. Membership cards and qualification cards (specific to that exhibit) must be presented upon entry into the ring. The Champion and Reserve qualify for the Ultimate Star Championships at TOYS.
