7th Annual Spring Classic Police Motorcycle Training and Skills Competition April 19 th -22nd, 2017 Grand Prairie Premium Outlets/ Longhorn Harley-Davidson (2950 W. Interstate 20) Grand Prairie, Texas

First A Little Background: In 2011 the Grand Prairie Police Department teamed up with local business to create an event that would allow motorcycle officers to give back to the communities they serve. The Spring Classic Police Motorcycle Training and Skills Competition is recognized as a 501 (c) (3) organization. The money raised from the competition goes to support the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics. The Grand Prairie Police Department Motor Unit is proud to host the 7 th Annual Spring Classic Police Motorcycle Training and Skills Competition. This year s competition will take place April 19-22, 2017. The main competition days will be Friday and Saturday, April 21 and 22. Grand Prairie Premium Outlets and Longhorn Harley-Davidson have worked together to provide the location for this year s event at 2950 W. Interstate 20, Grand Prairie. The location is bordered by the Grand Prairie Premium Outlets on the north and Longhorn Harley-Davidson on the east. Since the first competition we have continued to grow and evolve. In 2014 we were glad to be able to introduce a new element, hosting the 1 st annual Spring Classic Civilian Motorcycle Competition in conjunction with the police competition. This competition allows civilian and police riders to compete on the same courses, helping to promote rider training amongst civilian motorcycle enthusiasts. The four-day event brings together officers from across the region and state to take part in valuable training to keep them safe while performing their normal duties. The competition allows the officers to have fun while showing off their riding skills in front of spectators and having an opportunity to interact with the public in a nonenforcement role. Through entry fees, civilian donations made at the event, and our sponsors, we are able to make a sizeable contribution to the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics, and in turn support the Special Olympic Athletes and Special Olympics movement as a whole.
