ONTARIO SKATERS PROMOTIONAL CONTEST INTRODUCTION Welcome to the 29 th year for the ONTARIO SKATERS PROMOTIONAL CONTEST. This program is a wonderful opportunity for skaters and clubs throughout the province of Ontario to fundraise and create public awareness of the sport of figure skating. Assistance to your club will be provided through detailed information provided in this booklet and by contacting the Promotional Contest representative outlined below. This is an Ontario-wide program. Skate Ontario will cover the up-front costs required to produce this year's Promotional Contest program, prizes and promotion materials. You remit for the tickets after the fundraising has been collected. For many clubs, the funds raised from the Ontario Skaters Promotional Contest are invaluable. Donated funds assist your skaters and members in many ways and most directly assist to off-set ice costs and fees to participate in the sport. GENERAL INFORMATION WHAT IS IT: CONTEST PERIOD: -A Promotional Contest with tickets distributed in Ontario. There are 20 tickets per book. The suggested donation is $2.00 per ticket. Estimated value of the book is $40.00. 1) Club Share = $22.00 2) Skate Ontario = $18.00 -To enable you to reach all of your membership (early and new year registrations) the contest period begins September 1, 2017 to February 28, 2018. -When ordering your contest books, please try to forecast that you will not have more than 5% returned to Skate Ontario. You may wish to review your records from last season. - All ticket stubs, funds, and accounting form must be returned to Skate Ontario absolutely no later than Friday, March 9, 2018 to provide sufficient lead time for the accounting process. HOW DOES IT WORK: -Club commits to a number of books to distribute and is responsible for these books. -Club completes the attached order form and forwards to Skate Ontario by day,, 201. -Club gives out a book per skater and records who has the book. -Skaters/parents are responsible to return their ticket stubs to the Club s Fundraising contact. -Club completes the remittance/accounting form, which you can find online as of December 2017, recording how many books were distributed and returned and also submit a cheque payable to the

The p WHAT TO DO: -The books you have ordered will be delivered to your club registrat books or at an appropriate time of your choice. who has which book -When stubs and funds are returned, enter onto the Accounting Forms (that Skate Ontario will provide through its website). The club keeps one copy and forwards the copy with a cheque and the ticket stubs to Skate Ontario. -Accounting Forms to track your fundraising transactions will be available online November 2017 for clubs on Skate Ontario website, www.skateontario.org, under the Clubs tab. -If for some reason your donations are falling short of expectations, contact Skate Ontario by Friday February 2nd, 2017 at the latest, so we are aware of the shortfall. Please note that we will not accept more than 5% of the original order back after words, your club will be responsible for the payment of unsold books over the 5% threshold after this date. ***Please note that additional booklets can be ordered if needed by contacting Skate Ontario*** WHAT NOT TO DO: -Don't use more than one book at a time. -Remember, if one ticket is used in the book, the club is responsible for submitting $18.00 per booklet to Skate Ontario. -Also, if a book is lost, you are responsible for the $18.00 donation to Skate Ontario.
