LOURDES HUGER S THOUGHTS ON LOURDES After a few days off for the holidays, we are excited to get back on the court for our final game before MAC play. Lourdes plays a zone defense that we will need to be prepared to attack. I was pleased with our defensive effort at Green Bay and expect those adjustments to carry over into this game as well. SCOUTING THE LOURDES UNIVERSITY GRAY WOLVES Lourdes, a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) plays in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC). The Gray Wolves are 5-9 on the season, including a 0-7 mark in conference play. Lourdes enters Thursday s game following an 88-57 victory over Akron Wayne on Dec. 19. Lourdes is 2-5 in away games in 2017-18. The Gray Wolves are 2-3 at home and 1-1 on neutral floors. Lourdes is coached by second-year head coach Josh Gibson. Gibson is 12-31 at Lourdes, and 73-89 all-time as a head coach. Lourdes is shooting 39.1 percent from the floor, 27.8 percent from three-point territory, and 68.3 percent from the charity stripe. The Gray Wolves are scoring 67.9 points per game. LU opponents are averaging 69.6 points per game, while shooting 43.1 percent from the field, and 35.5 percent from downtown. The Gray Wolves are averaging 10.6 assists, and 12.7 turnovers in 2017-18. Senior forward Malik Thurman leads the team in scoring (11.8 PPG), blocks (0.7 BPG) and threepoint shooting (47.4 percent). Thurman also ranks second on the team in rebounding (4.1 RPG). Freshman forward Clif Snow leads the team in rebounding (6.0 RPG). Along with Thurman, Snow is the only other player on the Lourdes roster averaging over 10.0 points per game, as he s averaging 10.9 points per contest. Freshman guard Kadeim Jones is averaging a team-high 2.5 assists, and sits third on the team in scoring (9.9 PPG).
