LATE ENTRIES: Once an entry is received, refunds will not be given. Not accepted if the athlete is not registered in the meet. $15.00 for those already registered in the meet. This includes athletes switching and/or adding an event. Late entries are not guaranteed correct seeding. Late entries close two hours before the scheduled start time of the event no exceptions. Relay teams are registered on the day of the event. Late entry fees do not apply to relay teams. ENTRY DEADLINE: Friday, June 19 th for Unattached or School athletes submitting entries to the Jack Brow Meet Registrar. Sunday, June 21 th for athletes registering through their Club Registrar. ENTRY PROCEDURE: Club Athletes: Club athlete registration is not accepted by mail and must be done through your Club Registrar or designate. Club Registrars are asked to download a Team Manager file from our website at www.okac.ca and then enter the event selections for their athletes. The file is saved and then emailed to the Jack Brow Meet Registrar at oacmeetregistrar@gmail.com. Athletes and events entered can be changed up to midnight on Sunday June 21 st, 2015. Please double check the name, gender and year of birth and BC Athletics number (or equivalent) of each of your athletes. Unattached athletes: Athletes that are not part of a track and field club that is affiliated with a provincial athletic association need to download an unattached entry form from our website at www.okac.ca and then enter their name, gender, date of birth, BC Athletics number and the events they want to enter. Best performance information for all events entered is helpful. The deadline for entering is Friday, June 19 th, 2015. Elementary, Middle and High School (unattached) Athletes: Elementary, Middle and High School aged athletes who do not hold a 2015 BC Athletics membership need to download a School Athlete entry form from our website at www.okac.ca and then enter their name, gender, date of birth and the events they want to enter. Best performance information for all events entered is helpful. The deadline for entering is Friday, June 19 th, 2015. REGISTRATION PACKAGES: AWARDS: Pick up registration packages starting at 4:00 pm, Friday June 26 th or 7:30 am, Saturday June 27 th, 2015 at the Apple Bowl. Packages are organized by club and must be paid for and picked up before any athlete in the club can participate in the meet. The top three finishers in each event will receive a medal, with the exception of relay teams. Athletes finishing 4th through 8th in each event will receive a ribbon. Ribbons only will be awarded to Relay teams will receive ribbons. Medals and ribbons may be picked up at the awards table near the finish line 30 minutes after the event results are posted. Sorry, no early pick-ups allowed. Awards not picked-up will not be mailed. Results will be linked to the BC Athletics website at www.bcathletics.org. Saturday, June 27 th at 8:00 am at the Apple Bowl; the location will be announced. A Jury of Appeal, consisting of three qualified persons selected from guest club coaches will be available to deal with any protest arising during the meet. All IAAF, Athletics Canada and BC Athletics rules will apply. FinishLynx Photo Finish Timing Wind gauges will be used for track events 200m and shorter and for horizontal jumps for athletes 14 years old and older. The Okanagan Athletics Club will supply all official equipment. Athletes wishing to use their own throwing implements may do so, but must have them checked in and weighed. Predetermined weighin times will be posted at the beginning of each day. We recommend athletes weigh in their implements early on the day of competition. Track and Horizontal Jumps: 5mm maximum High Jump and Javelin: 9mm maximum Club or school uniforms Use the area outside the Apple Bowl. Stay off the infield and remain in the stands on either side of the Apple Bowl when not competing. Check-in for all field events is at the event site. Check-in for all track events is at the event start line area. All athletes must check-in a minimum of 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time. 4

COACHING AREAS: ORDER OF EVENTS: AGE DIVISIONS FOR COMPETITIVE GROUPINGS: Athletes and coaches are only allowed to converse in designated coaching areas during an event. Track events run youngest to oldest, female and then male (with exceptions in hurdles). Birth Year Age Age Group 2006-2002 9-13 years Junior Development 2000-2001 14-15 years Midget 1999-1998 16-17 years Youth 1997-1996 18-19 years Junior 1995 and older 20+ years Senior 1980 and Older 35+ years Masters (age graded) Ages are as of December 31st, 2015 with the exception of Masters where age is determined as of the first day of competition. When deemed practical, age groups or divisions will be combined to run together, but will be scored separately. Athletes may compete in one age division only per event. Refer to the relay section for information about age groupings for relays. LIMITED ENTRIES: COMPETITOR NUMBERS: The number of heats and sections will be limited by the length of the day. Each athlete will be issued a competitor number. In track events finishing in lanes, and in the relay, numbers must be worn on the back. For track events not finishing in lanes, and infield events, numbers are worn on the front. EVENT OFFERINGS: See page 13 START LISTS: Start lists and heat sheets will be displayed on the boards at the entrance to the Apple Bowl near the registration area. Track events will be run according to the schedule posted on the day of the meet, which may differ from that published in the meet information package. Track heat sheets are subject to change based on scratches and no shows. Coaches and athletes must pay attention to the pace of the meet and prepare accordingly. SIMULTANEOUS EVENTS: Track events will not be delayed. Athletes should report to their field event to check in. A delay in returning to a field event might result in missed attempts. Every effort will be made to accommodate athletes in the Junior Development age division. 5

SEEDING: QUALIFYING FOR FINALS: RELAYS: SHOT/DISCUS/JAVELIN: Athletes will be seeded for heats and finals, so please indicate the actual ability of the athlete. Entries without seed times will be treated as slower. Coaches and athletes should be able to verify performances from sanctioned meets held in the 2015 and 2014 outdoor seasons. Times or distances that can't be verified will be removed. In the 100m, the winner in each heat will advance plus the next fastest runners (place, then time). In case of a tie for 8th place, the better place for a finish in the heat will determine the winner. If still tied, the athlete from the heat with the slowest winning time will qualify. If 8 or fewer athletes are entered in a heat, then the event will be run as a final at the scheduled heat time. All track events for Masters athletes and Junior Development will be timed finals. Team registrations will be accepted on Saturday, June 27 th, only. Team registrations registration cut-off will be two hours before the relays begin. The fee to enter a relay team is $20 per event All Junior Development Athletes will be allowed three attempts. All other Athletes will initially receive three attempts, with the top 8 receiving an additional three attempts. HAMMER: All athletes will initially receive three attempts, with the top 8 receiving an additional three attempts. OFFICIALS CLINIC: Officials Clinic open to all parents, coaches and athletes. Approximately 1 ½ hours and will cover the basics of officiating track and field events. Location will be at the Apple Bowl on Friday evening at a time to be determined. Registration is FREE but to ensure there is sufficient interest to hold the clinic, pre-registration is requested.
