Cultural Arts Improv4kids provided a wonderful performance for our elementary students. Their spontaneous wit and comedy made for a delightful show for the entire school. Thanks PTA for supporting such great arts shows! Plastic Caps & Plywood! PLASTIC CAPS and PLYWOOD! Yes we still need you to keep collecting all types of plastic caps. We need all sizes and colors. Keep collecting the bottle caps, but we also need margarine and sour cream lids, 5 gallon paint plastic lids, tennis ball can lids, etc... Along with the lids we need scrap plywood pieces and metal poles. The green team is close to starting an art project that will decorate our courtyards using recycled materials. Keep collecting all year as we will need thousands of lids! If you have wood to donate now, please contact Julie Knolmayer, 301-527-1032, or knolmayer@comcast.net Please turn in your Entertainment Books! A huge thanks to Kristen Roe and all of the volunteers who helped make our Donuts with Dads event as spectacular as the weather! Thanks to Pam Martinez, Kristen Roe and Molly Murray for organizing the Cultural Arts Assembly last week. The students and teachers learned new and creative thinking skills watching and participating in Improv4Kids. One of the performers was a LES alum which made their visit extra special. Great find! Halloween Parade & Classroom Our Halloween Parade & Classroom Parties will be held Friday, October 28, 2pm. Room Parents should be sending home letters with students about the Halloween Parties for each class. Your LES PTA gives money to each class toward the party so there should be no monetary donations required. You may be asked to donate snacks, drinks or items for goodie bags to offset the costs of the party. Remember, if you are donating a snack, it must be store bought and nut-free. This is to protect those students with food allergies. We hope you can make it to the parade and parties. It's great to see the students having so much fun! Page 2
