We have been breeding top quality ranch horses for a long time and we are proud to be able to offer them to you through our sale. This past year has been a great one for our program. We have more mares in production than we ever have and many of them are half-sibs or full sisters. Our program is very focused and we know exactly what type of horse we are trying to produce. We are proud to be Ranching Heritage Breeders with the AQHA. The focus of the Ranching Heritage Breeder program is to recognize the ranch horse, honor the heritage of ranchers, preserve the traditions of the working ranch cowboys, and protect the authenticity of the ranch horse. We feel this is a perfect fit with our program. If you purchase a horse from us and you want to show in any AQHA Ranching Heritage Challenge events, please let us know and we will make sure that your horse is enrolled. We have another powerful set of horses in this year s sale. The two-year old s have nice starts on them. They have all been rode outside and have seen a lot for their age. Please attend the preview at 11:00 am to watch us ride them. The yearling horses have all been haltered, but have had minimal handling. With that being said, they might be the gentlest set of yearlings we have ever offered. Please talk to us at the conclusion of the preview about horses you might be interested in. We try very hard to match people and horses so everyone is happy once you take your new horse home. If there is an issue, quirk, or blemish with any of our horses we will tell you. DIANNE MATHISEN The Anderson family and Dianne Mathisen have both had horses for years. 14 years ago we had a vision of breeding big, stout, ranch horses with great minds and conformation. We focused heavily on the King Fritz horses for our mare line. We purchased Hairpin Roan Tiger in 2004, from Leachmans in their sale, and the rest is history. Hairpin Roan Tiger has sired over 100 head of foals and we could not be happier with the results. As we have grown we have added several other stallions to our program. They compliment Hairpin Roan Tiger very nicely. We are different than some breeders in that we ride the horses we breed. The Anderson kids have grown up (and still are) buckarooing on horses we have raised. As they get older they will help pick up the slack on the colt starting. We are ranchers, so raising top quality quarter horses is a perfect fit for us. We have marketed horses off the ranch as well as at various ranch horse sales across the west. WHAT DO OUR CUSTOMERS SAY? Shirlee Morrell on her Merada filly purchased in 2015 I met M.T. and Cori back in 2015 during a cattle ranch tour. After discussing their horse breeding program I decided to attend their 2nd Annual Production Sale. From my first conversations with them I knew they were honest and stood behind their horses, not a characteristic that you always find in the horse industry. On the day of the sale during the preview M.T. was happy to answer any questions I had. I ended up purchasing two mares at the sale that year. SPUR BRAND RANCH HORSES BENTZ FAMILY The Bentz family has been in the livestock business for a long time. The family has ranched continuously in Eastern Oregon since 1925. In addition to operating a large scale cow/calf operation, the Bentz family has also been breeding ranch horses for over 40 years. Their stallion Colonel Blackrock became the foundation for a great set of mares. Most of the Spur Brand mares are Colonel Blackrock daughters. You will appreciate the consistency in their program. The newest additon to the Bentz program is a tremendously talented horse named Cuttin Like My Dad. He is a Peptoboonsmal grandson out of a Doc s Hickory daughter.
