Ideas for Growing your Coalition: What kinds of groups join Teaming with Wildlife? The Step-by-Step Guide to Building Your Coalition (www.teaming.com/pdf/step_by_step_guide.pdf) provides advice on getting your coalition off the ground by organizing your leading partners into a core group and then reaching out to natural supporters like wildlife action plan stakeholders, CARA coalition members and recipients of State Wildlife Grants funding. This document will help you take the next step by providing a more exhaustive list of potential coalition members. The Teaming with Wildlife National Steering Committee is a group of 13 organizations with a common goal of achieving more effective state-based programs for the conservation of fish and wildlife diversity. The following nine members have affiliates on the state level which should already be primed for Teaming with Wildlife by the national organization s support. Each link provides state contact information. Affiliates or Chapters of TWW National Steering Committee members: American Fisheries Society chapters: http://web.fisheries.org/main/index.php?option=com_weblinks&catid=17&itemid=69 National Audubon Society chapters: http://www.audubon.org/states/ American Zoo and Aquariums Association members: http://www.aza.org/findzooaquarium/ Izaak Walton League chapters and divisions: http://www.iwla.org/index.php?id=7 National Wildlife Federation affiliates: http://www.nwf.org/about/affiliates.cfm National Wild Turkey Federation state and local chapters: http://www.nwtf.org/in_your_state/ The Nature Conservancy chapters: http://www.nature.org/wherewework/northamerica/states/ Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partners affiliates and partners: http://www.trcp.org/ourpartners.aspx (email srobertson@fishwildlife.org for state affiliates lists) The Wildlife Society chapters and sections: http://www.wildlife.org/chapters/ The remaining categories of this guide provide examples of the kinds of groups that could become Teaming with Wildlife supporters in your state. Wherever possible, links to directories are provided, but these lists are by no means exhaustive; use them as a starting point for brainstorming similar organizations and businesses in your state that will strengthen your coalition and contribute to this effort.
