Zone Representative Report FINAL REPORT FROM STEVE BRAGG INSURANCE: State Council have decided that if over 30% do not want insurance 24/7 it will not happen. REMINDER: All club officials should read and adhere to their Statement of Purposes, Constitution and By-Laws of the Association. CONGRATULATIONS: To all the Flat, Musical Ride and Games Teams who competed at Bacchus Marsh. Bairnsdale won the top Flat Team again this year. INTERZONE CHALLENGE: More entries are needed and one Grade 3 Team finished 7 th. The cost of competing at Werribee is getting too high so the event may move next year. THANK YOU: For all your help and guidance over the years. Good luck to the incoming Zone Rep., I wish you well and warn you to take care with parents who think they know all the rules and are devious enough to try and railroad you. Stick to the book. Steve Bragg Chief Instructor Report In the last three months a couple of issues have evolved, which are being addressed are: 1) A proposal from the East Gippsland Zone to have Zone Sanctioned Squad Days recognised as horse qualifying days. The proposal has been endorsed by the State CIP and will be presented to the next PCAV Council meeting for ratification. 2) A proposal to set a maximum height for Pony Club A Grade Showjumping in Victoria, put up by the East Gippsland Zone, was also endorsed by the CIP in July. Rather than set a height at this meeting, the East Gippsland Zone has been given the responsibility to develop the maximum height for PA Grade, which may require some alterations to heights for PB and PC Grade. This report will be tabled at the next CIP meeting. Courses for Gear Checkers, Show Jump Course Building Design and Introductory Grade 3,4 & 5 Dressage Judges Clinic have been held along with the East Gippsland Development Squad Weekends. Greg Hair. EGZ DEVELOPMENT SQUAD Earlier this year riders were invited to apply for a position in the 2011 squads. Applicants were asked to nominate either dressage, showjumping or cross country as their preferred squad, to state their competition goals and commit to attending the majority of the 2011 clinics. Four clinics were held at Bushy Park Pony Club with the format of two lessons on Saturday, one in the morning and one in the afternoon and the third lesson on Sunday morning Riders and their families were encouraged to stay overnight and enjoy a great meal and some fun activities such as zumba and celebrity heads. The strength of the clinic program is the commitment from top quality instructors to coach the squads for the entire year thus providing consistency in the training. If you are interested in applying for a place at a future clinic please contact Nicky Hair at agwork@bigpond.com Thanks to Yvonne Morrison for assisting with the article.
