April 10, 2015 RiverFest 2015 Activities Tuesday, July 21 Hudson and North Hudson River Cleanups: 9am to Noon along St. Croix River Family Oriented Paddle from Lakefront Park to Troy Beach and Back (may include the Y s voyageur canoes): Approximately 1:00 to 3:30 pm Wednesday, July 22 Scrappy Starts to Get a New Set of Clothes: all day at Picnic Point Carpenter Nature Center Wisconsin Campus Nature Hike: evening Thursday, July 23 Continue to dress Scrappy: all day at Picnic Point Carpenter Nature Center Demo at Lakefront Park: 4-6 pm Non-profit Market: 6-9pm at Lakefront Park Evening Concert St. Croix Valley Community Band: 7 pm at Lakefront Park Bandshell Friday, July 24 St. Croix Valley Bird Club Walk: morning at Lakefront Park trail Saturday, July 25 Early Morning Nature Paddle from Hudson to Troy Beach and Back: 7-9 am Kids Fishing Event at Lake Mallalieu: morning Civil War Encampment & Ice Cream Social at Octagon House Museum 10-4 Sunday, July 26 Rodeo Family Bike Event River Valley Trails: morning Evening Spiritual Celebration St Croix Sacred Ensemble (tentative): TBD Other activities that may be woven into the program: Native American celebration, mussel demos, Carpenter Nature Center demos, library program, mini-paddle events, paddle boarding, historic walking tour.
Summary of Bike Safety Rodeo event supported by Hudson Hospital & Clinic Trauma Outreach: Helmet fitting and checks, will have limited number of free helmets if children need a replacement due to improper fit or damage, or don t have a helmet. Will also have a number of crash helmets for kids to see and hear the story of the biker that wore the helmet (Art has posted a table for this discussion near his staff) Egg helmet demonstration Kids will be directed through a bike safety course-will need area of about 200 ft by 250 ft (John Duntley sets up safety course) Power Up game/booth with Power Up mascot Chomp Healthy snack at Power Up booth Police to register bikes (Marian spoke with Marty) Art Doyle s Spokes and Pedals bike shop staff will check bikes, conduct minor tune ups (Heidi spoke with Art)
