LHP pitched a perfect 8th. 26 Harris, Hobie...RHP FEEL THE HEAT: On Monday, RHP Cody Carroll entered in relief in the 6th inning and struck out all six batters he faced in a pair of perfect frames. The 24-year-old lit up the Florida Auto Exchange Stadium radar gun with a fastball at 99 mph. When asked afterward if he had ever struck out six consecutive batters before, Carroll said "I don't think so...i don't think I ever even did that in college." RHP Dillon McNamara capped off a seven-consecutive strikeout stretch with a strikout to begin the 8th inning. In all, the Tampa bullpen retired the final 11 Dunedin batters. MATEO'S MOTOR: On Saturday, Jorge Mateo collected his 13th stolen base in his 22nd game played. In 2016, Mateo did not steal his 13th base until 5/15 (34 games). Mateo led the minor leagues with 82 stolen bases in 2015 before that number dropped to 36 last season (still leading the FSL). The 21-year-old is currently on pace for a bounce-back year. VS. DUNEDIN: Today will be the second game of 17 total in the season-series between the Tampa Yankees and the Dunedin Blue Jays. Dunedin currently leads the series, 1-0. Last season, the teams met 16 times and Tampa won the series, 9-7. In those games played at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium, Tampa won the series, 5-2. The last time Tampa played in Dunedin, the Yankees defeated the Blue Jays in the best-of-three 2016 FSL North Division Championship Series, winning a thriling decisive Game 3, 9-8.
