Wolfpack Girls Swimming & Diving Invite Updates Wolfpack Wrap up Great Season at State Finals Girls Varsity Swimming & Diving (11/18) The Wolfpack wrapped up their state meet over the weekend at New Trier. Madison Schiml led the way for the Wolfpack earning All-State honors with her 11th place finish in the 500 free. Madison teamed up with Kira Tiv, Summer Brainin and Lauren Cox to earn All-American honors in the 200 free relay taking 15th at state. Tiv, Cox, Schiml and Jenna Keating also finished 15th in the 400 free relay and Cox had a 15th place finish in the 200 IM. Summer Brainin (50 free), Abbey Taute (200 / 500 free), Isabel Veliz (100 back) and the 200 medley relay foursome of Veliz, Ellie Boyle, Tiv and Brainin all had top 25 performances. Additional swims include Keating (200 free / 100 free), Schiml (200 IM), Cox (100 fly), Veliz (100 fly) and Annie Egan (100 breast).
Wolfpack IHSA Sectional Champions!!! Girls Varsity Swimming & Diving (11/11) For the 13th year in a row the girls captured the IHSA Sectional Championship winning 11 of the 12 events and qualifying 9 for the IHSA State Meet. Madison Schiml (200 IM / 500 free) and Jenna Keating (200 free / 100 free) were each double event winners for the Pack. Summer Brainin (50 free), Lauren Cox (100 fly), Isabel Veliz (100 back) and Annie Egan (100 breast) also picked up individual sectional crowns. The Pack swept the relays - 200 medley (Veliz, Ellie Boyle, Kira Tiv, Brainin), 200 free (Tiv, Brainin, Schiml, Cox) and 400 free (Brainin, Cox, Tiv, Keating). Wolfpack 2 nd at MCAC Championships Girls Varsity Swimming & Diving (10/30) For the first time since 2000 the Wolfpack finished 2nd at the MCAC Championships. Abby Taute and Madison Schiml led the way as each posted runner up performances in the 500 free and 100 breast respectively with Taute finishing under the state cut. Schiml teamed up with Kira Tiv, Jenna Keating and Lauren Cox to finish 2nd dipping under the state cut for the second time this season. Ellie Lennon (1M Diving), Jenna Keating (200 free / 500 free), Kira Tiv (100 fly) and the 200 free relay of Summer Brainin, Tiv, Schiml and Cox all had 3rd place performances with Tiv dipping under the state cut in the fly while setting a new Fr/So team record. Bryce's 200 free was a conference meet record and for her performances was recognized as the fr/so swimmers of the year. Top 3 finishers include the 200 Medley Relay (Delaney Spearing, Annie Egan, Walsh, Caroline Molloy), D. Abbey Taute posted the highest individual finish on the day taking second in the 500 free with Madison Schiml was just behind her finishing 3rd to go along with third place finish in the 200 IM. Wolfpack Win York Invite Girls Varsity Swimming & Diving (9/23) The Pack won the York Invite over the weekend. The team took first place in all 3 relays including a 1-2 finish in the 400 free relay and won 4 of the individual events. Individual event winners include Madison Schiml (200 IM), Lauren Cox (100 fly), Abbey Taute (500 free) and Isabel Veliz (100 back). Relay wins include the 200 Medley (Veliz, Ellie Boyle, Kira Tiv, Summer Brainin), the 200 Free (Tiv, Cox, Schiml, Brainin) and the 400 Free (Jenna Keating, Bryce Spearing, Delaney Spearing, Tiv). Wolfpack 2 nd at Dan O Brien Relays Girls FR/SO Swimming & Diving (9/9) The Pack finished 2nd out of 11 teams at the Dan O'Brien Relay on Saturday. The Pack won 5 relays and finished 2nd in 5 relays. Winning relays include: 500 Crescendo - Kylee Kuzniar, Summer Brainin, Bryce Spearing, Abbey Taute 4x100 IM - Delaney Spearing, Annie Egan, Michelle Torralba, Madison Schiml 4x50 Fly - Kathleen Walsh, Torralba, Kira Tiv, B. Spearing, Tiv, Taute Wolfpack 4 th at St. Viator Invite Girls Varsity Swimming & Diving (9/9) The team finished 4th at the St. Viator Invite winning 6 of the 12 events. The Pack was led by double event winner Jenna Keating (200 free / 500 free). Ellie Boyle picked up a win in the 200 IM and Isabel Veliz was victorious in the 100 back. Boyle and Veliz each posted runner up performances as well in the 100 breast and 100 fly respectively. Veliz, Boyle, Keating and Hannah Batson took first in the 200 medley relay and the foursome of Veliz, Joia McKinney, Boyle and Keating capped off the meet with a win. Montana Cardenas had a top 8 performance in the 500 free and teamed up with McKinney Juliana Lynch and Batson for 8th in the 200 free relay.
