Sparkler/Fireworks Power Pools Since 2011 the Fireworks and Sparkler have segmented the National Powerhouse teams into their own competitive bracket aptly named the Power Pools. Using the US Club National Rankings, a team s previous year s finish at the Colorado 4 th of July, applications from teams including recommendations from college coaches about their team, the Sparkler/Fireworks selection committee takes on the tough task of choosing the teams for the Power Pools during the largest week on any travel teams schedule. This will be a presentation of the teams chosen to compete in the Power Pools for both 18 & Under and 16 & Under, if your name is not on this list you will be notified if you have earned a supplemental power pool spot, elite division spot or an open division spot in the Sparkler/Fireworks by March 1 st. Facts about the 18U & 16U Sparkler/Fireworks divisions There are 225 team currently registered for the 18 & Under division in both the Fireworks and Sparkler o Over half of the 18U teams registered applied for entry into the power pools o 44 are chosen to participate in the Power Pools o 16 are chosen to compete in the Supplemental Power Pools o 20 Teams are selected for the Elite division Of the 80 teams selected to participate in the upper divisions o 44 power pool teams and top 4 from the supplemental pools will make up the Super 48 bracket o The 20 teams in the Elite division will be joined by the other 12 teams from the supplemental pools to fill the Elite 32 double elimination bracket The 16 & Under divisions of the Sparkler/Fireworks consist of 325 registered teams o Over 150 applications have been submitted for consideration into the power pools o 32 team are chosen to participate in the Power Pools o 32 team are selected for the supplemental power pools o 32 teams are placed into the Elite division Of the 96 teams representing the upper divisions o 32 power pool team and top 16 of the supplemental pools will make up the Super 48 double elimination bracket The 32 elite division teams will also see the addition on the other 16 supplemental teams to create the Elite 48 double elimination bracket.
Again if your team name was not shown for either the 18 & Under or 16 & Under Power Pools, you will be notified if you have earned a supplemental power pool spot, elite division spot or an open division spot in the Sparkler/Fireworks by March 1 st. As we continue the evolution of both the Sparkler and the Fireworks segmentation based upon the competitive levels of the teams attending will be more prevalent. This will accomplish like teams playing one another throughout the elimination brackets as well as the ability of college coaches to find the teams that will fit their programs, helping them with the recruiting process during a daunting week of over 3000 games.
