Their support of each other off the field translates to their success on the field. Every day they cross the lines they work to get better. Working toward their individual and team goals then resetting those goals higher after accomplishing them. They train by deliberately practicing concentrating, focusing, and repeating again and again. They will be demanded to work at their full potential. Training habits are an important piece to developing as individuals and as a team. Habits will push them past disapointing losses and toward extraordinary achievements. These habits will be fostered through a passion for the game of soccer. This vision leads the Iowa Rush senior boys soccer program into the future where each individual can move onto the next level and look back with pride at what their team and the program accomplished They then pay it forward to the next person in line at Iowa Rush and within the soccer community. This all starts right now Iowa Rush Senior Boys Soccer Five-Year Goals Become leaders in growing the game of soccer in the state of Iowa Win state titles with senior boys ages Be well respected regionally and nationally Clear and organized direction for players to advance to next level High retention rate within club Attract top players from all over the state to be a part of the program Family atmosphere Create Strong alumni base Develop players everyday on the field through process oriented training Build strong ties with local communities WA RUSH SOCCER IOWA RUSH SOCCER IOWA RUSH SOCCER IOWA RUSH SOCCER IOWA RUSH SOCCER IOWA RUSH SOCCER IOWA RUSH SOCCER IOWA RUSH SO 4 5

Iowa Rush Soccer Will Challenge YOU Development Develop as an athlete year around though a high-intensity, systematic approach on the field. Our Promise as Coaches To teach youth soccer players lessons through the game of soccer that help them become successful members of the community in the future Culture Experience an atmosphere where players like you keep each other accountable to work for the best of the team and Iowa Rush. Future One of the fastest growing clubs in the state. The Iowa Rush boys will continue to strengthen and improve for years to come. Transcendence You do not know yet what you can achieve.... Go beyond your expectations. We promise to: - Prepare a nurturing but challenging environment where players can thrive on and off the field. - Be a role model for your player and do everything as coaches that we ask of the players. - Be committed to and represent the club, program, team, and individual players - Continue to learn as coaches - Believe in every player - Imprint discipline while remaining in touch with the team and individuals - Be clear in information and expectations as coaches. Let the players read us and know exactly what we are thinking. - Demand a high level of play, accountability, and expectations for each individual. What lies behind us and what lies before us are little matters compared to what lies within us. 6 A RUSH SOCCER IOWA RUSH SOCCER IOWA RUSH SOCCER IOWA RUSH SOCCER IOWA RUSH SOCCER IOWA RUSH SOCCER IOWA RUSH SOCCER IOWA RUSH SOCC 7

Individual Goals Each individual in the program will record, turn in, and hang up his individual goals for the year. The list will include athletic, psychological, and team dynamic goals that motivate each individual but are realistic to achieve. Our goals for each individual: Wake up each day determined to get better. Engage with and give back to the community. Demonstrate commitment and dedication to the team. Clear communication with the coaches about issues with practice/games. Program Philosophy The groundwork for the Iowa Rush Senior boys soccer program is laid so that each individual will bring pride and honor to himself, the team, the program, and the club. When considering commitment level, here are the priorities for each individual to evaluate when making decisions. Priorities of the program: 1. Faith/family 2. Academics 3. Soccer 4. Social life Be coachable, willing to learn, and ask questions. Give more to the team than to yourself. Become a role model for youth in the Iowa Rush Soccer Club and to all soccer players. Hard work and good attitude will always be rewarding in this program. A good coach makes his players become better soccer players; a great coach makes his players become better people. Values of the Program Beyond The Rush Core Values (accoutability, advice, empathy, enjoyment, humility, leadership, passion, respect, safety, tenacity, and unity), the boys will have specific characteristics emphasized to develop culture to reach our goals. Family The program will be a family comprised of every individual on the team. The individuals will support each other on the field and in social environments. Character: Respect, Integrity, and Class Respect, Integrity, and Class The Rush senior men s program develops good people, not just good soccer players. These three character attributes will be demanded at all times. Competition Competition will happen every day within practice as it does within life. We will have winner and losers at the senior boys level and this competition will foster a strive to achieve mentality that will be beneficial in the future beyond soccer. Mental Toughness Mentally tough people thrive in adversity both on and off the field. Mental toughness can be taught and practiced, emphasizing that each individual is in charge of his successes and failures. Values of the Program Leadership Service based leadership that starts with the coach. Program leaders, team leaders, older player, and younger players all have a role on within the program. Leadership training will be provided to create an atmosphere of service and accountability. Work Ethic Work ethic will be demanded from every individual with no exceptions. Players will not be able to take anything for granted and work hard for every inch of success. Passion Players will play for the love of the game in a culture that creates an intrinsic passion to be on the field competing. Extrinsic rewards will hold little value compared to the love of the game. Habits Habits are created by doing the little things right each and every day. These habits will develop you over time as a player to reach the goals of the team and goals of each individual player. 10 A RUSH SOCCER IOWA RUSH SOCCER IOWA RUSH SOCCER IOWA RUSH SOCCER IOWA RUSH SOCCER IOWA RUSH SOCCER IOWA RUSH SOCCER IOWA RUSH SOCC 11

On-field Philosophy Iowa Rush senior boys will be a possession with a purpose -first and defending-first team. This will be the base to build an effective style to win. Players will build on strengths that will allow them to reach their full potential. Team Principles: - Work ethic and attitude two things that are completely in the control of every individual player will be required each time they step on the field. - Passion for the game is a priority - Accountability of teammates & self - Correct Habits will be proper and reinforced. Defensive Principles: - Defensive pressure starts in the offensive third by the attackers - 1 on 1 pride - Understanding principles and applying them (pressure, cover, balance) - Transition quickly - Vocal leadership needs to come from everybody Offensive Principles: - Creativity in the offensive third - Offense starts with the goalkeeper - Speed of play (decision making) 2017 Summer Layout Tryouts 15U (2003) & 16U (2002) - June 12th & 14th - 5pm-7pm 17U (2001), 18U (2000), 19U (1999) - June 13th & 15th - 5pm-7pm Camps Boy s/men s College & HS Competetive Summer Training Tuesday/Thursday - June 20th - Aug. 3rd Male College and Elite HS physical training with Engineered Per4mance Mon., Tues., Wed., Fri. - June 19th - Aug. 4th 2003, 2002, 2001 Boys Only July 11, 13, 18, 20, 25, 27., Aug. 1, 3 Preseason camp, 1v1 camp, PTP Tournaments (College Prep) - Options July 28-30 College Search Kickoff - Muscatine, IA WA RUSH SOCCER IOWA RUSH SOCCER IOWA RUSH SOCCER IOWA RUSH SOCCER IOWA RUSH SOCCER IOWA RUSH SOCCER IOWA RUSH SOCCER IOWA RUSH SO 12 13

Other opportunities This is a holistic approach therefore each of these opportunities are taken into account when playing with rush, but each individual player will need to have a discussion with the coaching staff regarding team priorities Rush College Prep & Players Rush Senior boys program will provide a clear path to play at the next level. C.A.P. Activities CAP Seminar - March ODP ODP has revamped and is encouraged by the Rush staff. There are opportunities to train and play with ODP. If there is a conflict, you would need to speak with the Rush coaching staff. Quarterly newletters College Coach Clinics College Combine Rush Select Rush Select is a prestigiuos opportunity within the rush community. Opportunities for Rush select would need to be discussed with the coaching staff prior to committing. Rush Senior Boys recognize you as a person will have other activities in your lives. The committment to be at training and games is not to be taken lightly, but the Rush staff is flexible with other committments. You are growing into a young man and will be expect to communicate ahead of time and clearly (not your parents) any conflict you may have. This responsibility is on you alone.
