It becomes Campus Drive after crossing 1st Ave S. Pool is on the right side approximately 1 1/4 miles from I-5. FACILITY Site of the 1990 Goodwill Games, multiple NCAA Men s Division 1 Championships, 2009 U S Open, and many USA Swimming National and Junior National Championships. 50-meter, 9 feet deep, 8-lane competitive pool The competition course has been certified in accordance with 104.2.2C(4). The copy of such certification is on file with USA Swimming. Diving tank will be available for continual warm-up 1250 spectator seats: Only one side of the spectator seating area will be open. Folding chairs allowed behind the railing in marked platform areas only, not in the bleacher sections. Omega electronic timing system with full-read scoreboard. Use of audio or visual recording devices, including a cell phone, is not permitted in changing areas, rest rooms, locker rooms, or behind the starting blocks. Deck changes are prohibited. Operation of a drone, or any other flying apparatus, is prohibited over the venue (pools, athlete/coach areas, spectator areas and open ceiling locker rooms) any time athletes, coaches, officials and/or spectators are present. No shaving anywhere in the facility.,onsite AMENITIES Vendor: Snohomish Aquatic Center Pro Shop Meet Heat Sheets: $5.00 Results on PNS web site Concessions: Operates under contract with King County; neither PNS nor the host team derives any benefit. Hospitality: Refreshments will be available for coaches and officials in the Hospitality Room. Swimmers, timers, and spectators are not allowed. Parking: Available at the Aquatic Center. Illegally parked cars will be ticketed and towed by the Federal Way Police Dept. Do not leave valuables in vehicles. No RV parking in Aquatic Center parking lots. Carpooling is recommended. ELIGIBILITY & ENTRY INFORMATION: All swimmers must be registered with USA Swimming. On-deck USA Swimming will not be permitted. Age groups are based on the age of the swimmer as of the first day of the meet. Age groups for competition will be 12&U and 13&O. Swimmers ages 12&U may enter no more than three (3) individual events per day. To enter the 12&U 200 back/breast/fly (events 4, 30, 31), a swimmer must be 11 or 12 as of the first day of this meet or turn 11 by the first day of the 2018 PNS Age Group Long Course Champs. Swimmers ages 13&O may enter up to three (3) individual events per day, no more than two (2) of which may be Session 2 events. (Session 5 finals events will not count toward Sunday s daily entry limitation of three (3) individual events per day.) 13&O swimmers may enter up to one (1) relay event per day. Entries exceeding any of the above limits will be scratched without notification, and entry fees for entry count limitation scratches will not be refunded. Deck Entries: Only swimmers who did not pre-enter the maximum number of events as stated above may deck enter. Deck entries for individual events will be allowed in open lanes only at the discretion of the Meet Referee. Deck entry individual swims are not eligible for any awards, team points, or advancement from Session 2 to Session 5. o Deck entered swimmers who are not already in the meet are required to show proof of USA Swimming athlete registration and complete a PNS Deck Entry Registration at the Clerk of Course in order to enter.
o No deck entry will be considered complete without payment of all appropriate entry fees. All USA Swimming registration numbers will be verified with the PNS registration database. ENTRY FEES: Surcharge: $15.00 Deck entry surcharge: $30.00 (swimmer not previously in meet) Session 1, 3, 4, and 6 individual event: $6.00 Session 2 individual event: $7.00 No refunds or credits will be given for events entered but not swum; no event swapping. All fees must accompany entries. AWARDS AND SCORING: Timed finals individual events: Ribbons 1st 16th places by age group and gender. Age groups for scoring timed finals events will be 10&U, 11-12, 13-14, and 15&O. Scoring: 20-17-16-15-14-13-12-11-9-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 Prelims/finals individual events: Medals 1st-3rd places and ribbons 4th-8th places by age group and gender. Scoring 20-17-16-15-14-13-12-11. Team high point: Team plaque for first through third place teams. MEET RULES: Current PNS and USA Swimming rules govern throughout the meet, including warm-ups. All entry times must be LCM (long course meters). For seeding purposes only, a swimmer who does not have an official time in an event may be entered be entered with an estimated time, as NT (no time) entries will be accepted. All events will be deck seeded: A positive check-in with the Clerk of Course by the stated deadline is required to swim. Coaches are asked not check in any swimmer who is not present; late arrivals should see the Meet Referee for possible seeding. All events will be timed finals events with the exception of Saturday s Session 2 s events, whose finals will be contested in Sunday s Session 5. See additional information below. All 50M events will start at the scoreboard end of the pool. At the discretion of the Meet Referee, individual events 100M or longer may be swum double-ended. Odd heats would start at the dive tank end of the pool, and even heats would start at the scoreboard end of the pool. All 12&U events will be seeded and swum mixed girls and boys, but awarded separately. All 13&O events will be seeded and swum as single-gender in event number order. Special Rules for Sessions 2 & 5: All Session 2 events will be prelims/finals events, with finals swum in Session 5. There will be one (1) heat of 13-14 followed by one (1) heat of 15&O in each event/each gender. All preliminary heats be pre-seeded, with no penalty for a swimmer who fails to swim. Finals: Swimmers qualifying for the finals of any prelims/finals event who fail to show will be barred from competing in the rest of the meet, unless properly scratched. Intention to Scratch: Once event results are announced, finalists and alternates have 30 minutes to scratch or declare their intention to scratch. Swimmers declaring an intention have until 30 minutes after the completion of their last preliminary event (not timed finals) i.e., their last Session 2 event -- to make a final decision to scratch. There is no penalty for scratches made under these conditions. Athletes who are seeded in a final event as a result of other athletes scratching will not themselves be penalized for a failure to properly scratch. Reseeding to include scratches made after the scratch deadline may occur at the discretion of the Meet Referee. WARM-UP PROCEDURES: Circle swim counter-clockwise only. Last half hour of each warm-up period: Lanes 1 & 8 pace lanes, no diving Lanes 2 &7 sprint lanes, dive starts, return in lanes 3 & 6 Lanes 3, 4, 5 & 6 general warm-up, no diving Additional sprint lanes may be made available upon request to the Meet Referee. Pool closed promptly five (5) minutes prior to the start of competition. Warm-up may be modified at the discretion of the Meet Referee to accommodate the number of swimmers entered. SAFETY: No diving from the blocks or sides of pool except for designated sprint lanes during designated times in the main pool. Jumping into the pool is not allowed. Backstroke swimmers enter the water feet first in rotation; no diving over persons in the water. Deck Marshals will be assigned to supervise the warm-up. Deck Marshals have the authority to remove any swimmer, coach, or club who does not follow the safety rules during warm-ups or the meet. Coaches are responsible for their team s swimmers throughout the meet, including warm-ups and warm-downs. All participating swimmers must be under the supervision of a USA Swimming coach. The Meet Referee may assist a swimmer in making supervision arrangements, but it is the swimmer s responsibility to make arrangements prior to the start of warm-ups and to so notify the Meet Referee. Any swimmer entered in the meet must be certified by a USA Swimming coach as being proficient in performing a racing start or must start each race from within the water. When unaccompanied by a member-coach, it is the responsibility of the swimmer or the swimmer s legal guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement. OTHER NOTES: It is understood and agreed that USA Swimming shall be free and held harmless from any liabilities or claims for damages arising by reason of injuries to anyone during the conduct of the event. It is further understood that Pacific Northwest Swimming and the StingRay Swim Team shall be free and held harmless from any liabilities or claims for
damages arising by reason of injuries to anyone during the conduct of the event. Only credentialed athletes, coaches, officials, authorized volunteers and facility employees are allowed on deck or in the locker rooms.. All others must remain in the designated spectator area or in public lobbies and are not allowed in the natatorium. In order to be on deck and serve in their official capacity, all coaches, officials and any other person required by sanction to be members of USA Swimming shall visibly display their membership credentials at all times. All persons acting in any coaching capacity must be coach members of USA Swimming. Alcoholic beverages, tobacco products of any kind, and glass containers are not allowed in the swimming venue. Any act of theft, vandalism or similar action will result in immediate disqualification from the meet and the loss of any points accumulated toward team standings by the individual. Team Areas: Please keep your area clean, and pick up all trash before leaving each session. ENTRY SUBMITTAL INFORMATION: The 2018 PNS Long Course Priority system applies to this meet. Entries submitted too early will be rejected without notification. Entries will only be accepted upon receipt of all of the following prior to the entry deadline, Wednesday, June 6, 2018: 1. Entry File from Team Manager or equivalent. 2. Meet Entry Reports for individual (sorted by swimmer) and relay (sorted by event) events from Team Manager or equivalent. 3. Meet Entry Fee Report from Team Manager or equivalent. 4. Master Entry Summary Form Completed and hand-signed hardcopy only (original or faxed); typed signatures will not be accepted 5. Meet Entry Fees one check payable to the StingRay Swim Team. Meet entry fees should arrive to the meet host three weeks following the confirmation of your team entries or before the meet entry deadline, whichever is sooner. 2018 Long Course Meets Special Notes: PNS clubs: The entry period starts at noon April 25, 2018. Non-PNS clubs: Should space be available, non-pns clubs may submit entries beginning noon, April 27, 2018. Please indicate any willingness to spit your entry. Late, incomplete, or paper entries will not be processed. Recheck all entries as no additional entries or corrections will be accepted after the deadline (except deck entries). All entry times will be assumed to be LCM.
