PCA Summer Camp Descriptions 2018 American Girl Camp Instructor: C. Lewis It s time to leave 2018 behind and head back to historical America alongside your favorite American Girl dolls! Each day you will travel to a different point in our country s history to experience life from the past. This will be a week of crafts, adventure, games, and stories for both you and your doll. At the end of our week we will have a tea party to celebrate all the fun we ve had together! Arts & Crafts Camp Grades: Rising 1-6 Instructor: L. Nickens Arts & Crafts Camp will satisfy your child s urge to DO and MAKE! Your child will enjoy using his or her creative side on a wide variety of projects throughout the week (NEW SURPRISE crafts this year!). There will be something fun for all artists and crafters, no matter what the age or interest. We will use a variety of materials and mediums to make our own creations, crafting until ours hearts are content, and simply having fun! Ballroom Kids June 11-15, 12:00-3:00 Grades: Rising K-8 Instructor: N. Nuamann Ballroom kids! Come and learn the most popular social dances with us! Just like Dancing with the Stars, let s learn some dances and a fun routine to perform for your parents and friends. Boys Basketball Camp June 4-7 (Monday-Thursday), 8:30-2:00 Grades: Rising 2-9 Instructor: TBA Girls Basketball Camp June 18-21 (Monday-Thursday), 8:30-2:00 Grades: Rising 2-9 Instructor: Coach James Cost: $165 Our goal at camp is to improve each attendee in the fundamentals of basketball. Special attention will be given to the development self discipline, perseverance, determination, and having fun. Instructors will include former college players, current varsity high school players, and special guests.
Classic Art & Music for the Primary Mind am Grades: Rising K-2 Instructor: A. Jordan Children should have a desire for and interest in art/music. The student will learn about and emulate the works of famous artists such as DaVinci, Picasso and Rembrandt. In addition, he/she will be introduced to and experience through activities, the works of composers such as Tchaikovsky, Beethoven and Mozart. Cooking Camp June 4-8, 12:00-3:00 Grades: Rising 4-8 Instructor: A. Wright Food tastes better when shared with friends so come on and be a part of the Cooking Camp! Join Mrs. Wright at cooking camp, and learn how to make some fun, creative and delicious recipes. We will measure, mix, pour and decorate and of course sample our work. Creative Crafts and Cooking with Characters! June 18-22, 12:00-3:00 Grades: Rising 1-3 Instructor: M. Posch, H. White Come experience the culinary world and make some crafts, too! You'll be an expert chef by the time we are through. We will also read some stories and take time to explore, the world of Pete the Cat, Skippy Jon, and many more! The Dangerous Camp for Boys: Equal parts Indiana Jones, Tom Sawyer and MacGyver June 4-8, 12:00-3:00 Grades: Rising 5-8 Instructors: M. Jones, A. Wallace Cost: $140 The Dangerous Camp for Boys is for young men who want to find their sense of adventure; all but lost in this digital age. Hunt for treasure, tie knots and learn outdoor survival skills. Dr. Seuss Camp Grades: Rising K-2 Instructor: A. Ward Oh, The Places You ll Go during this fun-filled week of Dr. Seuss! Our silly Seuss activities will instill a love of rhyming and creativity as we practice summer reading skills. With crafts, snacks and games galore, this camp is sure to be a week that your camper will remember!

Jr. Cheer Camp June 18-22, 12:00-3:00 Instructor: K. Daigle Assistant(s): PCA Varsity Cheer Squad Grades: Rising 2-5 Join PCA Varsity cheerleaders for a week full of fun learning how to be a cheerleader. Girls will learn sideline chants, floor cheers, attend jump clinic, learn a dance routine, and have a performance at the end of the week in the main gym. Girls will also attend sign making class, pep rally planning and games, and participate in fun spirit themed days throughout the week! All campers will be invited to cheer at the first PCA pep rally of the school year! Each camper will receive a PCA cheer shirt, set of poms, and will come home with spirit sign and spirit stick by the end of the week. This is a camp your Junior Cheerleader will not want to miss! LEGO Robotics Jr. Camp June 11-14 (Monday-Thursday), 8:30-11:30 Grades: Rising 2-5 Instructor: Dr J. Hearnes Calling all Master Builders! Using the new LEGO WeDo 2.0 Robotics System, the campers will explore the basics of building and programming robots to complete exciting engineering challenges! Messy Art Camp June 18-22, 8:30-11:30 Grades: Rising 1-3 Instructor: A. Ward May I...Paint with mud? Do some fly swatter art? Throw a paint ballon bomb? Use a spaghetti paint brush? Pinterest Party In It to Pin It! June 18-22, 8:30-11:30 Cost: $130 Craft the day away with fun ideas from Pinterest. From slime to bird feeders, and so much more! Campers will go home with their pinterest creations daily! Princess in Training Camp Grades: Rising K-3 Gowns, gloves, and tiaras.. oh my! Learn how to walk, talk, and act like a princess. There will even be a royal ball to finish up our week! Rule The Galaxy Grades: Rising 5-8 Instructors: M. Jones, A. Wallace What happens when the game of Risk, Model United Nations and Star Wars Collide. - a hands-on political simulation in which players represent planetary systems (nations)and interact through economic, social and political crises while under the imminent threat of war. The goal of the game is to maneuver from dangerous circumstances and achieve prosperity throughout the Galaxy by any means necessary. Players will be challenged in a fun and engaging game that will allow them to explore moral and ethical decisions through a Christian worldview. Sweet Treat Camp Cost: $140 Come dive into the world of all things sweet! Learn how to make, bake, and decorate all different types of delicious treats with the owner of Viva La Cupcakes! Campers will get an apron, three piping tips, and piping bags to take home at the end of the week so they can continue creating even after camp is over!

Players will learn proper grips, stroke fundamentals (ground strokes, serves, volleys, etc.), and boost overall athleticism and health through silly games, focused drills, and engaging instruction.
