Purpose of our School Uniform Rationale: The wearing of our school uniform is compulsory. It helps promote school pride and unity, as well as fostering a sense of identity and belonging. The uniform also increases the school identity within the wider community. Where to Purchase our School Uniform The Warehouse in Feilding is the retailer of our logo uniform. Additional retail outlets Kmart, Postie Plus for non-logo items such as shorts, track pants, skorts and skirts etc. Suggested requirements we recommend that each student has the following items of uniform: 2-3 MSS logo blue shirts 2-3 pair of blue shorts, skorts, pants 1-2 MSS logo blue polar fleece, sweatshirt, jacket or vest 1 pair of black or navy blue school shoes 3-5 pair of navy blue or black socks, or tights Second Hand Uniforms FAQ: Does the school have a second hand uniform shop? Yes, the school has a small supply of second hand uniform for sale please enquire at the school office. Items are sold for $10 each. Occasionally you may be able to purchase second hand uniforms donated to Feilding s opportunity shops. FAQ: Where do I sell or donate second hand uniforms? You can donate or sell your unwanted uniform to the school. Good quality second hand uniform may be purchased by the school for $5 per item. 3
Special Occasion & Sports Team Uniforms Special Uniform -The school has special uniform items (e.g. jackets & t-shirts) and sports team uniforms. These will be issued to students when required for school trips or events. MSS Sports Uniform - (where available) will be issued to students registered in school teams for sporting competitions and must be returned to school at the end of the season. Sports Days On specified Sports Days students may wear appropriate sports clothing. Students are encouraged to wear tops in their school house colours: (no singlet or strap tops). Swimming students bring their own swimwear/togs, goggles and towel(s) in a named swimming bag. Please also supply a plastic bag for wet items. Daily Sport/Fitness Activity Students will be required to bring sports footwear for these activities. They will be worn only during the activity. 4
Uniform - Lost Property School advises all parents and students to clearly label all items of school uniform and additional clothing, swimming togs, lunch boxes, drink bottles, bags and sports shoes with full name. FAQ: Where do I go to find a lost item of school uniform? A lost property box is located outside Room C this is open during school hours. All items found should be placed directly into the Lost Property Box. Valuables are to be handed into the school office. Enviro Days Regularly, the school holds a full school Enviro Action Day. On this day students are permitted and encouraged to wear non-uniform clothing and footwear that is suitable for gardening and enviro day activities, reflecting the green part of the rainbow. Enviro Days are notified in the weekly school newsletter. 5

Students may wear other sun hats to/from school and keep in their bags during the school day. Winter Hats Winter MSS logo beanies are available for sale at school office and may be worn at break times. Students may wear other warm hats to/from school and keep in their bags during the day. FOOTWEAR Plain navy blue or black lace up, velcro or slip on covered shoes with black soles. Plain navy blue or black sandals with black soles. HAIR Long hair tied back, plain blue/black hair ties and headbands No colour detailing or laces No jandals, or high-heels No sequins/embellishment No knee high, ankle, gumboots or ugg boots No hair products to be used No shaved designs No coloured clips or headbands THERMAL UNDERWEAR Winter thermal tops and leggings Plain navy blue or black thermals can be worn under school uniform during winter. No striped or coloured thermals JEWELLERY No Jewellery is to be worn at school with exception of: Earrings - One pair stud earrings only. Taonga pendant worn under uniform is permitted. Watches are permitted. Earrings should be removed when playing sport for safety. 7
