How a League forms Xtreme Fastpitch Teams
First what is a League? A League is compromised of at least 4 teams in Babe Ruth Softball, Cal Ripken, Babe Ruth Baseball and/or Bambino Buddy Ball. A League also has a board of directors where as a Xtreme Fastpitch Only Team would just have a Team manager or Team Admin.
So how does a League start Xtreme Fastpitch? A League whether new or a returning league will go through the same charter process as they have in the past with completing a league and board of director information. Once they get to the team charter page they will see a new column added to the charter screen with Xtreme Teams to add to the charter Xtreme Fastpitch X 10: 0 0 X12: 0 X14: X16: 0 0 X18: Team Charter Fee for all levels of Xtreme Fastpitch is $30.00 per team.
A League selects to do Xtreme Fastpitch In our example we will show that the league has chartered a X12 & X14 Teams as part of the charter. At this point since the league is asked about what insurance they will be taking for the league. If they selected Babe Ruth Insurance for the Cal Ripken, Babe Ruth Baseball, Babe Ruth Softball, Bambino Buddy Ball they will now be asked about the roster make up of the Xtreme Teams they have chartered. Since Babe Ruth Insurance with K&K Insurance Group is primary coverage and one of the benefits is that you may take players from your local league rosters and enter tournaments and have insurance coverage as long as the league president approves. If ALL PLAYERS ON A XTREME FASTPITCH TEAM ARE ON BABE RUTH SOFTBALL LOCAL LEAGUE ROSTERS or ROSTER THEY HAVE THE BABE RUTH/K&K INSURANCE PRIMARY COVERAGE COVER FOR THE XTREME TEAM AT NO ADDITIONAL INSURANCE CHARGE. 12u PLAYERS League takes players from Babe Ruth Softball Rosters or a single roster within the local to form a Xtreme Team. X12 TEAM No Additional Charge for Insurance & Babe Ruth Insurance covers the Xtreme Team. 14u PLAYERS League takes players from Babe Ruth Softball Rosters or a single roster within the local to form a Xtreme Team. X14 TEAM No Additional Charge for Insurance & Babe Ruth Insurance covers the Xtreme Team.
A League selects to do Xtreme Fastpitch In this example we show that the league has chartered 1 X 12 and 1 X14 Team however the Xtreme team has AT LEAST1 PLAYER WHO IS NOT A ON A ROSTER FOR BABE RUTH SOFTBALL WITH IN THE LOCAL LEAGUE. In this example the because the Xtreme could have players that are not within the leagues geographical boundaries or the player elects to not play in Babe Ruth Softball they are not on a Babe Ruth Softball roster with the local league. In this case the league is required to purchase XTREME FASTPITCH INSRUANCE. This insurance covers the players on the Xtreme Roster when playing in Xtreme Tournaments or other tournaments they enter. This coverage is NOT THE SAME as traditional Babe Ruth Insurance /K&K Insurance Group Primary Coverage. See coverage details for the differences. 12u PLAYERS 1 player not on Babe Ruth Softball roster X12 TEAM League must purchase Xtreme Fastpitch Insurance for the Xtreme Team 14u PLAYERS 1 player not on Babe Ruth Softball roster X14 TEAM League must purchase Xtreme Fastpitch Insurance for the Xtreme Team
A League has other insurance A local league may elect to have there own coverage. They are permitted to as we have always allowed. They will enter insurance information that is required for the charter to be approved. Also, once the Xtreme Fastpitch is assembled, a certificate of insurance will have to be loaded onto the team admin account so that they may enter Xtreme Tournaments. Also insurance requirements for the proper levels of coverage will have to match Babe Ruth League requirements as leagues have to now. Cost of Xtreme Insurance & Coverage Details? As of 3/18/12 we have not completed the insurance requirements and costs. We will have shortly.
Geographical Boundaries A Local League program that does Babe Ruth Softball has geographical boundaries that are approved by the State Commissioner. All players that are within those boundaries are permitted to player Babe Ruth Softball and Xtreme Fastpitch for that local league. A local league though could now pull players from outside of the geographical boundaries to create a Xtreme Fastpitch team. Also the local league may take Babe Ruth Softball players and players from outside the geographical boundaries to form Xtreme Teams. This offers great flexibility for leagues to allow players that wish to play more tournament level softball the ability to stay under the leagues charter. It also allows the local league to schedule the Xtreme Fastpitch Team in tournaments around Babe Ruth Softball Regular Season or Tournament games with limited conflicts. However players that don t reside in the league's geographical boundaries that participate in the league s Xtreme Fastpitch team is still not permitted to play in the Babe Ruth Softball Division. Only players that meet the geographical boundaries of the local league may participate in Babe Ruth Softball.

This rule/policy must still be worded for the rulebook. Xtreme Fastpitch teams are welcome to participate in any non-xtreme Fastpitch Events and have insurance coverage.
