This is a wonderful event filled with lots of great racing and fun for the entire family. Our host hotel The Orleans Hotel and Casino offers a great rate for all participants. There is a large arcade, 70 lane bowling alley, 18 screen movie theater and Kids Time a drop off entertainment center where children ages 3-12 can enjoy many different activities and games while being supervised by hotel staff. There are many restaurants from fine dining to a quick meal. For all the adults there is a full floor of gaming from Blackjack to slot machines, a usual hangout for the handlers to catch up about the past months of racing and free shuttle to the Las Vegas strip. Our format remains the same as last year. The lineups for heat races will be determined by a pill draw and to help our young racers adapt to the race track itself, we will have two 3 minute rounds of practice. 2011 Silver State Winter Nationals presented by Good Times Quarter Midget Racing Association November 30 December 4, 2011 Pre-Registration Entry Fee: $80.00 for one car/ one class. Additional cars and/or classes: $50.00 each. Registration and payment must be postmarked by November 19, 2011. Make checks payable to Good Times QMRA. No refunds after November 19, 2011. Late Entries will be accepted fee is $100.00 for one car/class. Additional car and/or classes $75.00 QMA Badges will be required at sign ins. All participants and their families will be required to wear event wristbands for security reasons, these can be obtained at sign ins. Parking The Orleans is located at 4500 Tropicana, Las Vegas, NV. To get to the track go north on Arville Street to the second driveway. Stay to the right, you will need to temporarily park in the truck parking until a parking attendant directs you to your space. Attendants will be available from 7:00 am until 10:00 pm beginning Wednesday Nov 30th. Parking trackside is limited to paid vendors/sponsors (see vendor sheet) /paid reserved VIP only. Reserved trackside VIP parking $150 for an up to 70 spot. Limited space filled by postmark. Only 1 reserved spot per registration, if you wish to park next to someone you must arrive together. All other parking is $50. for motor home with trailer, $25. for trailer only. First come, first serve, if you want to park together you will need to arrive together. 2011Silver State Winter Nationals presented by Good Times Quarter Midget Racing Association Orleans Hotel and Casino Las Vegas, Nevada November 30 December 4, 2011 SIGN-IN All cars need to be pre-registered to avoid Late Entry Fee All cars must pass safety before completing sign in process All cars must be signed in to practice All cars must be signed in and passed safety by Thursday, Dec 1 at 12:00 p.m. to be involved in pill draw to determine heats. If you sign in after 12:00 pm you will tag rear of heat race. Sign in will close Thursday, Dec 1 at 5:00 pm. RACE FORMAT Practice- Maximum 7 cars, 3 minutes 2 rounds time permitting Time Limits- Subject to change All races will have a time limit to be determined on race day. (If AA & Half drivers do not complete heat race prior to time limit, the cars will not refuel. The race will conclude with the 80 lap fuel limit.) the race finish will be determined on the next yellow/red flag that is thrown after the time limit has expired. The tower will score the finish by the last line up after the yellow/red flag. Heats and Main Laps All races will be run HOT OUT OF THE CHUTE. (NO WARM UP LAPS) Heat Races will be 15 laps Lower Mains will be 25 laps Novice A Mains will be 25 laps A Mains will be 30 laps Juniors/ 40 laps Seniors Classes with two cars will run 10 lap heat and 10 lap main event Classes with one car will run green, white, checkered flag. Line Up Order All heat races will line up according to pill draw Judging Per QMA rules QMA Code of Conduct will be strictly enforced Tech All engines will be sealed immediately after Heat after you cross the scale. Handlers are responsible to see that their engine is sealed by a track official. Top three finishers in each class will be impounded after the main Event All cars signed in are subject to tech. Fuel/Tires No fuel will be provided. Mandatory fuel, Chevron midgrade purchased at the Chevron station next to The Orleans Hotel at the corner of Cameron St. and Tropicana Ave. Las Vegas, Nevada. Fuel and oil will be checked at Tech s discretion. AA s and Half s will have a 5 minute time limit to refuel. All drivers not ready to race when time expires will be sent to the pits and will start at the back of the pack, if they return before the green flag. Tire rule as per the 2011 QMA rule book will apply. Awards First place ribbons will be awarded to all heat race winners First thru third place in Main events will receive a U.S. Savings Bond. Bond award info must be turned in to tower by event end. First place finishers will receive a signed checkered flag. Fast Time Tips Beat the long lines, safety and sign-in opens Wednesday Nov 30th, the times have been extended for this day to 11:00am thru 7:00pm to accommodate more racers. The lines on this day are much shorter than on the following morning Thursday Dec 1st when safety and sign resumes at 7:30am. For a quick early morning breakfast, our trackside vendor Road Runner Catering has great breakfast burritos, coffee, hot chocolate, etc. They will be there throughout the event with items such as tacos, burritos, hamburgers, fries, chicken nuggets, as well as many other items and cold drinks. Subway, Fuddruckers and Sbarro also serves a quick breakfast as well as Java Vegas for all your favorite coffee drinks, pastries and fruit. Dinner reservation can be made online now for the Canal Street and Prime Rib Loft restaurants. Just go to www.orleanscasino.com/dining to select your restaurant and make your reservations now to avoid waiting for a table. Kids Time is open upstairs in the casino for kid s ages 3-12 is $6.50 per hour weekdays, $7.50 weekends. They have an incredible jungle gym with 3 slides, coin free arcade, ball pit, and climbing tubes. Also, there are 6 play stations, 4 Wiis, 1 Guitar Hero, 8 arcade racing games, a movie room, arts and crafts, 2 Lego tables, a truck and airplane table, and a snack bar with great prices ($.75-$2.25) This is a great supervised pit stop for the kids, while mom and dad enjoy dinner or some gambling.
