Bamboo Composite Epoxy Technology Bamboo is one of natures strongest, most flexible, and most sustainable materials available. It has been used for centuries to build everything from T-shirts to skyscrapers, and now stand up paddleboards Hobie has combined bamboo lamination with its highly successful EPX-1 molding technology to produce a line of boards that are lightweight, durable, high performance, and fun to ride. Elite Series ATRII Series CM Surf Series Construction BCX Bamboo Composite Epoxy BCX brings together the natural strength and flexibility of bamboo sandwiched between multiple layers of fiberglass compressed into a mold to create a strong and lightweight high performance outer shell over an EPS core. This lamination technology places key materials in key areas to produce a high performance board that is lightweight yet durable. All Fin boxes, handles and inserts are laminated into the board and seated into high density PVC Foam for extra strength Fin Boxes installed in high denisty foam Bamboo Laminate top and bottom High density foam deck inlay EPS Core BCX + C Bamboo Composite Epoxy + Carbon Hobie s premier construction, BCX + C brings together the natural strength and flexibility of a thin veneer of Bamboo sandwiched between multiple layers of fiberglass compressed into a mold to create a strong and lightweight high performance outer shell over an EPS core. The rails are then capped in Carbon fiber adding extra stiffness and rail strength. This lamination technology places key materials in key areas to produce a high performance board that is lightweight yet durable. All Fin boxes, handles and inserts are laminated into the board and seated into high density PVC Foam for extra strength Carbon Fiber wrapped rails Bamboo Laminate top and bottom High density foam deck inlay Fin Boxes installed in high denisty foam EPS Core

CENTER FIN INSTALLATION STEP 1 Remove fin screw and screw base from fin STEP 2 Screw fin screw and base together STEP 3 Slide fin screw and base into fin slot STEP 4 Slide fin screw and screw base to the rear of fin box. STEP 5 Remove fin screw from screw base. STEP 6 Insert fin into fin slot in the middle of the fin box and slide forward STEP 7 Line up the hole in the base of the fin with the screw base inside the box STEP 8 insert screw into fin and screw base and tighten.

SIDE FIN INSTALLATION (Some boards do not have side fins) STEP 1 Fin key is located in the center fin box STEP 2 Back out the fin screw until side fin box is clear STEP 3 Insert fin with flat side toward the center of the board and slide the fin fully back in the box and then lever the front of the fin down into the box. STEP 4 Tighten screw snuggly DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN TROUBLESHOOTING: CENTER FIN FIT On Ocaasion, there may be a fit issue with the center fin, either too tight or too loose. This is not an uncommon problem and can be easily fixed Tight Fin Take the center fin as shown, and gently use a sanding block with 60 grit sandpaper ( recommended) or equivilent. Sand at a slight angle taking more material off at the base of the fin. Do this 4-5 times and then try to insert the fin again. Repeat as necessary. Be sure to only sand the base area of the fin that fits into the fin box Loose Fin Take the center fin as shown, and place a piece of masking tape or equivilent on the fin as shown.

MOLDED ATTACHMENT POINTS Some BCX & BCX+C SUPs come with built in attachment points ( Elite & ATR II Series ) These inserts are molded in the boards to allow the user to attach or tie down items such as coolers, fishing equipment, etc These attachment points are intended on tying items down to your board. DO NOT USE THESE TO TIE BOARD TO VEHICLES OR TO TOW Attachment points are molded into the surface of the board Be sure that all loops or hooks are securley under the metal bar inside of the attachment point 2 Wayv Vents Hobie has created a unique two-way vent system that equalizes pressure due to temperature or altitude variation. Hassle free, no unplugging, screwing or unscrewing required. Upon first use, be sure to check that the vent cap is tight. Tighten vent using a quarter or large screwdriver. THERE IS NO NEED TO UNSCREW VENT PRIOR, DURING OR AFTER USE.
