Join the dots to reveal the hidden image?... The poem In Flander s Fields, was written on the 3 May 1915 by Lieutenant-Colonel John M c CRAE (Medical Officer of the Canadian forces) In Flander s Fields the poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place; and in the sky The Larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below. We are the dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved, and were Loved, and now we lie In Flander s Fields. Take up our quarrel with the foe: To you from failing hands we throw The torch, be yours to hold it high. If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flander s Fields April/June 1917: TIMELINE The «Chemin des Dames» and the Battle of Arras 6 April 1917: Declaration of war by the United States of America July/Nov 1917: 3 RD Battle of Ypres (Passchendaele) 21 March 1918: German spring offensive 11 Nov 1918: Armistice 10 28 June 1919: Treaty of Versailles
