Safety Data Sheet SECTION 1. IDENTIFICATION Product Identifier Recommended Use Surface primer. Manufacturer CANUSA-CPS, A DIVISION OF SHAWCOR LTD., 25 BETHRIDGE ROAD, TORONTO, ON, M9W 1M7, (416) 743-7111 Emergency Phone No. Canusa, (613) 996-6666 (CANUTEC) SECTION 2. HAZARD IDENTIFICATION Classification Flammable liquid - Category 2; Skin irritation - Category 2; Eye irritation - Category 2A; Specific target organ toxicity (single exposure) - Category 3; Specific target organ toxicity (repeated exposure) - Category 2 Label Elements Danger Highly flammable liquid and vapour. Causes skin irritation. Causes serious eye irritation. May cause respiratory irritation. May cause drowsiness or dizziness. May cause damage to organs through prolonged or repeated exposure. Keep away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames and other ignition sources. No smoking. Keep container tightly closed. Ground and bond container and receiving equipment. Use explosion-proof equipment. Use only non-sparking tools. Avoid breathing dust/fume/gas/mist/vapours/spray. Wash hands and skin thoroughly after handling. Use only outdoors or in a well-ventilated area. Wear protective gloves/protective clothing/eye protection/face protection. IF ON SKIN (or hair): Take off immediately all contaminated clothing. Rinse skin with water or shower. IF INHALED: Remove person to fresh air and keep comfortable for breathing. IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. Call a POISON CENTRE or doctor if you feel unwell. If eye irritation persists: Get medical advice/attention. In case of fire: Use appropriate foam, carbon dioxide, dry chemical powder, water spray or fog to extinguish. Store in a well-ventilated place. Keep container tightly closed. Store locked up. Dispose of contents and container in accordance with local, regional, national and international regulations. Page 01 of 05

SECTION 3. COMPOSITION/INFORMATION ON INGREDIENTS Chemical Name CAS No. % Other Identifiers Xylene (mixed isomers) 1330-20-7 30-40 Acetone 67-64-1 20-30 SECTION 4. FIRST-AID MEASURES First-aid Measures Inhalation Move to fresh air. Keep at rest in a position comfortable for breathing. Get medical advice or attention if you feel unwell. Skin Contact Take off immediately contaminated clothing, shoes and leather goods (e.g. watchbands, belts). Immediately wash gently and thoroughly with lukewarm, gently flowing water and mild soap for 15-20 minutes. Get medical advice or attention if you feel unwell. Eye Contact Immediately rinse the contaminated eye(s) with lukewarm, gently flowing water for 15-20 minutes, while holding the eyelid(s) open. If eye irritation persists, get medical advice or attention. Ingestion Rinse mouth with water. Do not induce vomiting unless directed by a medical personnel. Get medical advice or attention if you feel unwell or are concerned. SECTION 5. FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES Extinguishing Media Suitable Extinguishing Media Carbon dioxide, dry chemical powder, appropriate foam, water spray or fog. Fire fighting foams, such as multipurpose alcohol-resistant foams, are recommended for most flammable liquid fires.(55) Foam manufacturers should be consulted for recommendations regarding types of foams and application rates. Unsuitable Extinguishing Media Water may be ineffective for extinguishing a fire because it may not cool the primer below its flash point. Specific Hazards Arising from the Product Can accumulate static charge by flow, splashing or agitation. Liquid can float on water and may travel to distant locations and/or spread fire. In a fire, the following hazardous materials may be generated: very toxic carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide; toxic, flammable aldehydes; reactive hydrocarbons; other irritating and toxic vapours, fumes and smoke. Special Protective Equipment and Precautions for Fire-fighters Evacuate area and fight fire from a safe distance or a protected location. Approach fire from upwind to avoid hazardous vapours and toxic decomposition products. Stop leak before attempting to stop the fire. If the leak cannot be stopped, and if there is no risk to the surrounding area, let the fire burn itself out. If the flames are extinguished without stopping the leak, vapours could form explosive mixtures with air and reignite. Fire-fighters may enter the area if positive pressure SCBA and full Bunker Gear is worn. SECTION 6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES Personal Precautions, Protective Equipment, and Emergency Procedures Evacuate the area immediately. Isolate the hazard area. Keep out unnecessary and unprotected personnel. Use the personal protective equipment recommended in Section 8 of this safety data sheet. Increase ventilation to area or move leaking container to a well-ventilated and secure area. Eliminate all ignition sources if safe to do so. Environmental Precautions Do not allow into any sewer, on the ground or into any waterway. If the spill is inside a building, prevent product from entering drains, ventilation systems and confined areas. Minimize the use of water to prevent environmental Page 02 of 05

entering drains, ventilation systems and confined areas. Minimize the use of water to prevent environmental contamination. Methods and Materials for Containment and Cleaning Up Contain spill with earth, sand, or similar stable, non-combustible material. Do NOT use combustible materials such as sawdust. Place used absorbent into suitable, covered, labelled containers for disposal. Contaminated absorbent poses the same hazard as the spilled product. Large spills or leaks: contact emergency services and manufacturer/supplier for advice. SECTION 7. HANDLING AND STORAGE Precautions for Safe Handling Avoid breathing in this product. Do not get in eyes, on skin or on clothing. Do not swallow. Avoid exposure during pregnancy and while nursing. Only use where there is adequate ventilation. Avoid generating vapours or mists. Prevent uncontrolled release of product. Avoid release to the environment. Immediately report leaks, spills or failures of the safety equipment (e.g. ventilation system). Keep away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames and other ignition sources. No smoking. Conditions for Safe Storage Store in an area that is: cool, dry, ventilated, out of direct sunlight and away from heat and ignition sources. SECTION 8. EXPOSURE CONTROLS/PERSONAL PROTECTION Control Parameters ACGIH TLV OSHA PEL AIHA WEEL Chemical Name TWA STEL TWA Ceiling Xylene (mixed isomers) 100 ppm 150 ppm 100 ppm Acetone 250 ppm 500 ppm 750 ppm 8-hr TWA Appropriate Engineering Controls General ventilation is usually adequate. Do not allow product to accumulate in the air in work or storage areas, or in confined spaces. Use local exhaust ventilation and enclosure, if necessary, to control amount in the air. Individual Protection Measures Eye/Face Protection Wear chemical safety goggles and face shield when contact is possible. Skin Protection Wear chemical protective clothing e.g. gloves, aprons, boots. Suitable materials are: polyvinyl alcohol, Viton, Viton /butyl rubber, Barrier (PE/PA/PE), Silver Shield/4H (PE/EVAL/PE), Tychem BR/LV, Tychem Responder, Tychem TK. The following materials should NOT be used: butyl rubber, natural rubber, neoprene rubber, nitrile rubber, polyvinyl chloride. Respiratory Protection Where vapour or mist is encountered in the breathing zone: wear a NIOSH approved air-purifying respirator with an organic vapour cartridge. After application and drying, wear a dust respirator for any sanding or grinding type activities. SECTION 9.
