TONIGHT'S STORYLINES l The White Sox are 8-3 in their last 11 games against Texas dating back to 6/20/15. l Sox pitchers have made six quality starts in the last seven games, compared to eight in their previous 32. l The White Sox have lost seven straight road games and 11 of their last 12. l Nicky Delmonico is the first player in White Sox history to reach base safely in each of his first 13 career games (see note below). l Tim Anderson has hit safely in 12 of his last 13 games, going 17-56 (.304) with four doubles, five home runs, 11 RBI and nine runs scored. LAST NIGHT'S RECAP l Yasiel Puig hit a game-ending, two-run double off Jake Petricka to cap a three-run, ninth inning rally as the Dodgers completed a season sweep of the White Sox with a 5-4 victory. l The Sox matched their season high with four home runs, including the first career multihomer effort for Nicky Delmonico (see note below), the first career leadoff shot for Leury García and the 22nd of the season for José Abreu. l Delmonico collected a career-high three hits and reached base safely for the 13th consecutive game to start his career, extending his franchise record (see note below). l Carlos Rodón posted his fourth straight no decision despite allowing two runs on five hits over 7.1 IP Rodón made his fourth straight quality start (2.12 ERA), but his streak of consecutive batters faced without issuing a walk ended at 90. l Petricka suffered his first loss and blown save of the season for the Sox, who fell to 36-1 this season when leading after eight. NICKY MAKES HIS MARK l Rookie Nicky Delmonico owns an 11-game hitting streak and has reached base safely in each of his first 13 career games, the first player in White Sox history to accomplish that feat (sources: Elias/Baseball Reference). l Delmonico last night joined José Abreu (twice in 2014) as the only Sox players since 2006 to record a multihomer effort within his first 13 career games he joined Craig Wilson (three in 1998) as the only White Sox players since at least 1913 to register three three-hit efforts over their first 13 contests. l Delmonico's 19 hits through 13 games are tied with Gus Mulleavy (1930) for the second-highest total in franchise history, trailing only Wilson (22 in 1998). LAST NIGHT ON THE FARM l Class AAA Charlotte RHP Lucas Giolito, the No. 60 prospect in baseball according to MLB.com, threw 6.0 scoreless IP in a victory vs. Toledo, striking out seven Giolito is 3-1 with a 1.71 ERA (6 ER/31.2 IP) over his last five starts. l OF Eloy Jiménez and C C Zack Collins made their debuts for Class AA Birmingham after being promoted from Class A Winston-Salem. l Jiménez, the No. 7 prospect in baseball, went 2-4 with a double, solo home run and two runs scored vs. Montgomery the 20-year-old hit.345/.410/.682 (38-110) with 11 doubles, eight homers, 26 RBI and 20 runs scored in 29 games with Winston- Salem after being acquired from the Cubs on 7/13. l Collins, the No. 10 prospect in the Sox organization according to MLB.com, hit his 18th homer of the season in his Barons debut he ranked among the Carolina League leaders in home runs (T3rd, 17) and on-base percentage (7th,.365). l Class A Winston-Salem RHP Alec Hansen, the Sox No. 9 prospect, allowed one run on three hits with 11 strikeouts over 7.0 IP in a victory vs. Myrtle Beach l Hansen, the Sox second-round pick in 2016, is 10-8 with a 2.64 ERA (37 ER/126.0 IP) and 166 strikeouts in 23 starts combined starts this season with Winston-Salem and Class A Kannapolis he ranks second in the minor leagues in strikeouts. TEXAS l The White Sox won two of three games from the Rangers in the first meeting from 6/30-7/2, rallying in their final at-bat to win the opener and finale. l The Sox are batting.247/.324/.495 (23-93) with six home runs and a 6.33 ERA (19 ER/27.0 IP) and have been outscored by the Rangers, 22-18. l The Sox have won eight of the last 11 games between the teams and seven of the last eight in Chicago. l The White Sox lead the all-time series, 263-242 they are 151-98 at home (83-53 at Guaranteed Rate Field) and 112-144 on the road (44-58 at Globe Life Park). LEADOFF MEN l The White Sox have hit leadoff home runs (first pitch) in back-to-back games for the first time since 6/25-26/15 at Detroit (Adam Eaton) l Tim Anderson hit his fourth career leadoff homer (third of 2017) on the first pitch from Alex Wood on Tuesday, and Leury García connected on Yu Darvish's first pitch last night for his first career leadoff shot. l It marks the first time in franchise history that the Sox have homered on the first pitch of consecutive contests (source: STATS LLC, SABR and Elias). PITO'S 20/20/20/20 VISION l According to STATS LLC, José Abreu is the first player in White Sox history to begin his major-league career with four consecutive 20-homer seasons Abreu has 22 home runs this season after connecting on 25 in 2016, 30 in 2015 and a franchise rookie-record 36 in 2014. l Jermaine Dye (2005-09) and José Valentín both began their White Sox careers with five straight 20-homer seasons, while Paul Konerko (1999-2002), Jim Thome (2006-09) and Carlos Quentin each started with four in a row for the Sox. l Dye (2005-09) is the only player in Sox history who has hit 25-plus homers in four or more consecutive seasons. REVOLVING RELIEF DOOR l Since the All-Star break, the White Sox have traded relievers Tyler Clippard, Dan Jennings, Tommy Kahnle, Anthony Swarzak and David Robertson Nate Jones (elbow surgery) and Zach Putnam (Tommy John surgery) are out for the season. l All but Kahnle and Clippard were on the Opening Day roster.
