Livestock Projects & Summer Heat As the summer heat sky rockets, concern for your livestock projects should increase as well. During this time of year it is not uncommon for some projects to go off of feed or eat less than normal. This is when you have to change some of your habits, as well. You may want to feed earlier in the morning before the sun comes up and later in the afternoon when the sun goes down or even when it begins to be a bit cooler. Some of the changes you might do as well is put a fan on them and make sure that they have plenty of shade so that they can get out of the sun. Typically, if you place a fan under the shade, the animals will spend most of the day where it is cooler. Good clean water is also very important so that they have something that tastes good. If at all possible, place your water source under a shaded area so it will be cool as well. 05 Extension Office Closed October, 2016 2-8 National 4-H Week 04 National 4-H Food Challenge For more information on upcoming events visit: http://d114-h.tamu.edu/
