The Great Indoors - November 11th We are thrilled to announce that on November 11th we will begin our second season of The Great Indoors which features state of the are Golf Simulators. If you didn t have a chance to play last year please stop by on November 11th and check them out! Information on pricing and leagues will be available shortly.
Fall Changes at Peninsula Lakes Golf Club You may have noticed that Terry Reece, our course superintendent, and his crew added a beautiful new rock garden feature at the beginning of our parking lot. This area was always a challenge to maintain and grow grass, but now it adds another spectacular view at Peninsula Lakes! Great job! Club Storage - Please be aware that Member club storage will officially close for the season on Saturday October 29th. Please make every effort to have your clubs removed by this date. We need to prepare for the indoor season and will be installing our Golf Simulators the first week of November. Locker Clean Out- It is hard to believe, but it s that time of year again where we begin to prepare for the winter and require additional storage space. Please have your lockers cleaned out by Saturday October 31st and return your key to the Pro Shop to avoid a $50 surcharge. Items should NOT be left in your locker over the winter months. Peninsula Lakes Golf Club is not responsible for forgotten items.
Important Tee Time Information Please be aware that beginning on Tuesday October 11th, 2016 the first tee time will begin at 10:00 am and play will NOT be allowed prior to that. This is done to guard against any type of frost delay that can disrupt the entire day. Please always try to reserve in advance. Thank you for your patience and understanding! Tree Removal and Re-planting As you may have noticed, we have begun to remove a number of diseased trees around the golf course. This is done for several reasons including, safety to our members and guests, cleanliness and for the long term benefit of the golf course and its conditioning. A large number of the pear trees were diseased and were no longer bearing fruit, so they were removed. The ones that were not became messy, attracted geese, wasps and hornets, which were also then removed. There are still some very large Ash trees that will be taken down in the coming weeks (some in very pivotal places on the course), but we will begin an aggressive replanting schedule this fall to replace. The Ash trees were devastated over the past several years by the Emerald Ash Borer Beetle and become a very serious safety issue.
Short Game Practice Area - GREAT NEWS! We are thrilled to announce that our new Short Game Practice Area is now open for play! You can practice a variety of shots from varying lengths We hope your enjoy this wonderful addition to your membership! This area is restricted to Club Members only Due to the delicate root structure at this time, we ask that you please fix all your ball marks. In an effort to promote growth in the fall we would like a maximum of three (3) players at one time. 2017 Membership Info - Available soon! GREAT NEWS! Our 2017 Membership package will be available tomorrow! Thank-You for your patience and continued interest in Membership at Peninsula Lakes Golf Club. Course Maintenance As we head into the fall season, we have begun to aerify and thatch all of the fairways and tees on the course so there will be days that we only have 18 holes open for play. We would appreciate your patience during this time. These practices allow us to enjoy premium playing conditions during the season. We strongly recommend that you book your tee times in advance as we expect to have a busy month.
Driving Range Closed for the Season Please be aware that starting Monday October 10th the driving range was officially closed for the season. The weather has been fantastic all year long and as a result the range has been put to good use and it is looking a little tired and worn. We have started to begin work on the tee deck to address the problems we experience in the spring and fall. The plan is to install a new teeing ground area at the back of the range that will allow for both an artificial hitting surface as well as natural grass. Once these plans have been finalized we will make this information available. Hole In One!! A very big congratulations to Andrea Jack with her Hole-in-One on hole #6 at Copper Creek this past Wednesday, October 12th! Well Done Andrea! Time to Start Planning. We know we know.. It is still ONLY October but, Christmas is a little more than 2 months away and NOW is the time to start planning your company, group or family Holiday Party!
