The AMA Racing Rulebook applies to All AMA District 16 organized events, which include, but are not limited to: competition, meets, banquets and awards ceremonies. All Participants living within District 16 boundaries must be a Competition member of the AMA or the ATVA, and hold a current District 16 Registration Card. SECTION I: Youth Motorcycle Classes for racers 15 years and younger A. 50cc Shaft Drive Class 1. Racers aged 4-8 years 2. 0-51cc, stock. 3. Suzuki JR 50cc and its Kawasaki counterpart will run in this class provided that they have stock gearing. B. ** 50cc Four-Stroke Class (optional class) 3. Racers aged 4-8 years 4. 0-51cc, stock. C. Any 50cc bike found to be illegal will result in disqualification of the rider from that event, and the rider to be further suspended for the next three events in all classes! If necessary, this would carry over to the following year. D. 65cc 1. Racers aged 7-11 years E. 85cc 1. Racers aged 7-15 years SECTION II: Amateur Motorcycle Classes for racers 12 and older A. 250cc Amateur 1. 125cc-250cc motorcycles 2. * Note: per AMA regulations, racers must be 12 years of age to compete as an Amateur. B. Open Amateur 1. 250cc and larger motorcycles 2. * Note: per AMA regulations, racers must be 14 years of age to compete on a motorcycle above 250cc in displacement. SECTION III: Amateur Motorcycle Classes for racers 14 and older Page 1 of 5

A. 505cc Amateur Class 1. 251cc-505cc motorcycles. 2. Note: per AMA regulations, racers must be 14 years of age to compete on a motorcycle above 250cc in displacement B. Beginner Class 1. No year-end awards. 2. Day-of-event awards will be at the discretion of the club or promoter. 3. 125cc and larger motorcycles. 4. Must be a full sized motorcycle (no pit bikes) 5. Will not run on half miles 6. Rider may be moved up at any time of the season if their racing shows major improvements C. Women s Class 1. 125cc and larger motorcycles D. ** Classics Class (optional class) 3. 1961-1976 era, 250cc-400cc four-stroke engines. No brakes are permitted. SECTION IV: Amateur Motorcycle Classes for racers 18 and older A. Vintage+Twins Class 1. Single-Cylinder engines must be 1979 or earlier. a. Two-stroke single-cylinder engines may be any displacement. b. Four-stroke two-valve single cylinder engines may be any displacement. c. Four-stroke four-valve single cylinder engines are limited to 400cc maximum. 2. Twin-cylinder engines can be any displacement, and be from any year, including current. B. 80s Singles Class 1. Single-cylinder engines only; must be 1989 or earlier C. ** Hooligan Class (optional class) 3. Production, street-legal motorcycles must have originated with 750cc twin-cylinder or larger displacement engine. Engine and frame must be manufactured for each other. SECTION V: Amateur Motorcycle Classes for Senior racers Page 2 of 5

A. Vets Class 1. Racers aged 30 years and older B. Senior Class 1. Racers aged 40 years and older C. Super Senior Class 1. Racers aged 50 years and older D. Masters Class 1. Racers aged 60 years and older 2. No day-of-event awards are required; however, there will be year-end awards. SECTION VI: AA Motorcycle Classes A. ** 450cc AA Class (optional class) 2. 251cc-450cc motorcycles B. ** Open AA Class (optional class) 2. 250cc and larger motorcycles C. 100% payback D. Riders must be 16 years of age on the day of the event to compete in the AA classes. E. Riders competing in the AA class(es) are not eligible to compete in any other amateur classes on that day. F. AFT-licensed riders must compete in the AA classes, if they are offered. If no AA class is offered, AFT-licensed riders may compete in any Amateur class; however, they will not be scored and will not receive any awards. SECTION VII: Youth Quad Classes for racers aged 6-15 years ** A. ** Any Youth Quad class(es) are optional classes that may be offered at the discretion of the club or promoter. B. No year-end awards. C. These classes will not run on Half Mile events. D. Racers are encouraged to contact the club or promoter prior to the event to confirm if Youth Quad classes are being offered. SECTION VIII: Quad Classes for racers 16 and older Page 3 of 5

A. Top Quad 1. Quad B and Open Quad racers are eligible to compete in Top Quad 2. Quad C Riders are not eligible to compete in Top Quad. 3. 80% of entry fees will make up the purse for the top three finishers. 4. Quad B riders will be eligible for contingency awards. 5. No cc limit. B. Open Quad 1. No cc limit. 2. No Quad C Riders may compete in the Open Quad class. C. Quad B 1. No cc limit. 2. No Quad C Riders may compete in the Quad B class. D. ** Quad C (optional class) 3. No cc limit. SECTION IX: General Equipment Requirements A. Number plates 1. All competition number plates will be White (minimum 8 x10 ) with Black numbers. 2. No letters or stickers with the exception of earned National N or Pro designation can be placed on front number plate. 3. Number plate must be on front and both sides. 4. ATV front number plate must be vertical to front of machine, and both side plates, with a plate on rear of machine as well. 5. Riding Numbers; all riders must use last 2 digits of their AMA or ATVA card number, or the single digit number they earned the previous year. Three digit numbers are not allowed. B. Tires 1. Class C tires are required on the rear wheel of all motorcycles with the exception of mini cycles. 2. Knobby tires are not allowed on ATV s C. Sound 1. A decibel meter will be used to ensure all entrants are within AMA limits. D. Ice Racing 1. Per AMA regulations, all machines quads and motorcycles - must have a working tether switch. SECTION X: Rider Information Page 4 of 5

Page 5 of 5 AMA DISTRICT 16 COUNCIL A. Late Sign-up Fee 1. A late sign-up fee, up to double the normal fee, may be charged. B. Optional Classes 1. Racers wishing to participate in a class that is listed as may be offered at the discretion of the club or promoter should contact the club or promoter PRIOR to the event to confirm if the class(es) will be offered. C. Scoring 1. When a red flag occurs, the clock will keep running until the heat race is completed. D. Points 1. District points in all classes are awarded as follows: 20-16-13-11-10-9-8-7-6-5-4-4-4. 2. Racers who do not reach the final through a semi will receive 4 participation points. 3. To receive points, racers must be on the line for the start of the final, or semi, where points are awarded. 4. In case of a rain-out during or after sign-up, all racers will be given 5 participation points. E. Rough Riding 1. Rough riding by any participant will not be tolerated. 2. First offence will result in warning. The second offence will result in the rider missing the next two races, the third offence will cause the rider to forfeit all their points earned to that time and be suspended for the remainder of the season. F. Cones 1. Racers who hit a cone will be docked one position the first time it occurs; docked a lap the second occurrence; and out for the day after a third time occurrence. 2. Flagman, corner workers, or Referees will make the judgment call on this. G. Wrong Class 1. Either the track referee or the district referee may move a rider if they feel that person is participating in the wrong class at any time. H. Injury 1. Any rider with an injury may bring any bike to the start line to earn last place points in the class they have signed up for. If they are competing and wreck their bike in any manner, they must bring that bike to the line for their race. In either case, proper riding gear must be worn. SECTION XI: Club/Promoter Information A. Rental of the starting light system is $50 per day. B. The Trackside scoring system, including computer and printer, is available at a rental fee of $70. This money goes to the AMA District 16 Council C. Late sign-up fee, up to double the normal fee, may be charged for racers. D. Rain Dates must be cleared with the District Referee before publishing to the public. E. Clubs and promoters are allowed to provide contingencies in place of trophies.
