A guide to the L3 School Games in the Liverpool City Region (LCR) Years 3-6 Mixed Swimming Competition 2018

Presentations: Gold medals for winners (+ winner trophy for team). Silver medals for runners up. Bronze medals for 3 rd placed team. Spirit of the Games trophy presented to school most closely demonstrating the School Games Values throughout the event. School Games Certificates given to all participants. Important points to note: Due to the warm up and start time of this event participant's do not go to the Opening Ceremony please can you ensure that you go straight to the swimming pool. A Team Manager s Declaration Form must be completed online in advance of the event. Details of the web address where you can access the form and deadlines by which it must be completed will be provided to you by your local School Games Organiser. No declarations forms will be available on the day of theevent and teams who have not been registered in advance by the deadline will not be able to compete. Players should bring a packed lunch and plenty of water to keep them hydrated throughout the day. There are no on site facilities for purchasing food or drinks throughout the day. A Traffic Management Plan will be available via your School Games Organiser closer to the event date to advise on parking. Team Managers and their teams are responsible for ensuring that no litter is left by your school at the end of the competition.
Important points to note continued: Number of teams Team - Individual Events Relay Events Maximum swims 16 school teams in total. Each team may enter 2 competitors in all of the individual events. Each team may enter 1 relay team in each of the relay events. A swimmer may compete in a total of 2 individual events and 3 relay events (not including the 50-metre freestyle non-scoring race)

The same children CANNOT swim in both mixed events, you must use two different sets of 4 children. A medley relay team is made up from 25m backstroke, 25m breaststroke, 25m freestyle, 25m freestyle.
Competition rules Continued : Team Rules and Regulations, plus Selection Policy: Team Staff Warm Up Pool Depth Gala Points Each team must provide a minimum of 2 team staff, 1 male and 1 female to work on the poolside with their swimmers. It is recommended that you provide 3 member of staff were possible. There will be a warm up before the start of the event and lanes will be allocated on the day. The depth of the pool will be set at 1.2 metres which will mean that there will be no diving during the event. Each team will be awarded points for each race including the relay races.
