why cheerleading? There are many reasons why cheerleading is the sport for your child. -It builds self esteem & confidence through achieving goals and performing. -It s incredible exercise focusing on endurance, flexibility, balance, strength and overall health. -The ultimate TEAM SPORT teaching athletes commitment, dedication, hard work, success & failure. Stay humble in victory & gracious in defeat - It s FUN! Your team (and their parents) really become your family and your best friends! Through team bonds athletes learn trust and important social skills that will stay with them for life. Through team sports you build long lasting relationships, and make beautiful memories What is a typical all star training session like at Liberty Allstars?: Our competitive teams start working on routines immediately to ensure they are as ready as they can be for their first competition. Classes will consist of team bonding exercises, warm ups, stretching to increase flexibility, jump drills and practice, dance, synchronized standing and running tumbling, group and partner stunting, and conditioning. With 2 training sessions a week coaches can work on the teams weak spots to provide them with the best opportunity for success on the competition floor. Judges are looking at dance, stunt, jumps and tumbling and we feel that this is the best way to ensure our athletes become great all round cheerleaders. EVERY competing L.A team trains twice a week to also ensure fast development of muscle memory. After each competition, coaches will review score sheets with the teams and at this point the coach will discuss the changes that will be made to enhance our current routine to continue team and individual athlete growth and progression. It sounds like a lot of hard work, and it is. But.. it s also fun and extremely rewarding! Do we get the same experience if we aren t in competition teams?: Absolutely! Our non competitive classes are everything our All Star classes are minus the pressures of being ready for competitions and extra costs like comp fees and uniforms. These classes will still focus on team bonding, team goals, and the progression of the individual. It s a great class to enrol in if you want a taste of what cheer is all about, or you re joining mid-season. For the parents we have several open classes each term for you to watch your children learning and doing what they love. Their routine will also be a part of our end of year Showcase! GUESS WHAT!- We have a viewing room available to parents during every single practice (both rec & comp teams!) Be part of your childs cheer journey and see them have fun! Keep reading to find out how to join our team...
tumbling INFORMATION Our tumble classes are great value for money and have proven success. These small classes ensure skills are being perfected, progression of levels, and ultimate safety. Each 30min session will have 1 coach and no more than 5 students placed by skill level.this allows the coach to tailor each session to the needs of the athletes, dedicate one on one time with each of them in EVERY class, and limits down time. If you want to see your skill base grow and technique perfected then you MUST join a tumble class! Tumble sessions are allocated every term after a tumble assessment. NEW!! Tumble Sessions are compulsory unless you are in an OPEN team (Zinc / Titanium) or if your skill level is matching the level of your competition team. eg: Level 2 athlete competing on Blue Steel and can round off series back handspring, back walkover to back handspring, AND front handspring does not require a tumble session. However, if you wish to progress in team levels you WILL need to have the basic tumble skills of the team you are competing in. Our coach may also advise that the student needs to attend a tumble session if their technique or skills are lagging or need vast improvements. I love watching my daughter tumbling every week. I am amazed at how far she has come in such a short time... I love how all of their successes are celebrated!

Nationals (competitive athletes only): This is the BIGGEST competition of the year! This is a cheerleaders Christmas! It s what we train all year for! In 2018, AASCF National Championships will be held in the sunny Gold Coast. You will need to organise your own means of travel and accommodation for this weekend. We suggest doing this at the EARLIEST convenience, particularly accommodation as in 2017 there were 1400+ teams competing at Nationals in Melbourne. Things book out fast! Throughout the year keep your eyes peeled for cheap flights if you choose to fly. We understand that some families want to make a holiday out of this event which is a great reward for their hard work and dedication, however students are required to be at all practices on the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday for our send off party prior to the competition. So please do not leave Sydney until Thursday (Thursday classes will be cancelled) and keep the vacationing until after the competition has ended. If parents are unable to attend, we can always find a chaperone family to avoid athletes missing out. More info at the Parent Meeting!
